  1. I love your videos bro. I've lived here 23 years. I left Portland in 1973 at 17 and traveled the world in the US Navy, retired and returned to Portland for eight years and again I left Portland in 2001 for the Philippines and never looked back.

  2. I'm so happy that someone appreciates Philippines like this. Mostly everyone I know wants to flee this country. They don't see the beauty that this country has. Mostly everyone here is polite, well-mannered, and good morals. While in other Western countries they don't hold back every bad behavior is amplified because of their lifestyle and culture.

  3. Yeah I remember the one in 2013 in Bohol, the 400 year old church I toured in 2003 was turned into a hole and kindling. It was really bad the road in was upended and completely destroyed. Beautiful place, my wife if from the province so luckily no one will hurt in her family. It was really bad.

  4. We all know it’s coming, I April of 2019 I experienced my first earthquake in Manila while I was on 23rd floor and that was scary even though it was 5 magnitude , today I live in bungalow house because I know the next big one is just around the corner

  5. I was living in the northern Luzon in 1990 when the Baguio earthquake hit. 7.9 on the Richter scale and it took places like Dagupan and turned it upside down. It wasn't long after that when Mount Pinatubo blew up and has been known as one of the largest volcanic eruptions of the 20th century. Beautiful place, wonderful people, but when the ground starts to move with scary.

  6. I wonder how often you have brown outs in BGC? I only go there during meetings. I used to have meetings with Australia and UK diplomats. Stay here in QC. I rarely experience power interruption, like once a year 😀

  7. If you think in Philippines the high-rises are build to handle earthquakes, you have been lied to. They are not like they were not in Bangkok. I was there, and I'm still here and 80% to 90% of high-rise condos are damaged beyond repair. If over 8.0 richter magnitude hits Bangkok or Philippines in 1500 km to 1000km range, these buildings will collapse. We were lucky in Bangkok that this one was only 7,7.

  8. I was on mactan island when Bohol had a 7.2 earthquake. I bounced a foot and a half off the bed. Driving through Cebu City afterwards was like driving through a bombed out City. I felt bad about the ancient churches. The bell towers collapsed. The wife lost some friends when a wall collapsed on them.

  9. We just pray ( Filipinos ) ,give to God 🙏 and life must go on, must be enjoyed and be grateful no matter what the situation 🧡- we encourage you also and all the nationalities living in the Philippines to do the same. Thank you.😊

  10. I enjoyed your videos & how you narrated the events. Thank you very much. GOD be with you always . And may you be happy in all circumstances. Love it!
