Inside A Country That Doesn’t Exist (Transnistria)
Travelling to a country, that Doesn’t exist. This is Transnistria! Sandwiched between Moldova and Ukraine, Transnistria is a thin strip of land, officially recognised as part of Moldova but that, for all intents and purposes, operates as a separate country! This crazy place is often described as the last stronghold of the former Soviet Union with communist symbols and busts of Lenin everywhere!
We decided to travel to this unrecognised, Russian speaking, breakaway state in the heart of eastern Europe, to try and learn more about it and its people… Welcome back to the USSR ☭

Loved the expression Julia’s face when she consumed the vodka.😱😂

oh, so interesting. Can’t wait for that video.
❣️❣️🤣
Folks used to risk their lives to ESCAPE the Soviet Union and it's satellite states and this ALMOST makes one nostalgic for it. Can you visit the long lines for basics – like bread or milk – or be taken from your bed in the middle of the night for a little field trip to the Lubyanka?
It’s no more of a country than the so-called “donetsk republic”. It’s just another region of a sovereign country that russia occupies, just like Abkhazia.
❤ you both are incredible after all these years and all the ups and downs of life. Love from Washington State. God bless you both and your family's ✝️❤️
"and a few shots of vodka."
THAT is a Russian girl – she'll drink you under the table.

I've been few times to Transnistria/Tiraspol as tourleader with few tourist groups from Austria. Much cleaner and tidy town as in f.e. Kishinew/Moldova. Interesting experience and pleasant too!
