THE ROOF OF EUROPE ! The trains to Kleine Schiegegg and the Jungfraujoch.
I was here in 2015 and made it to the last junction station – Kleine Scheidegg. I didn’t make it to the summit station of Jungfraujoch, the highest station in Europe. Did I make it this time? What is there not to love about Swiss trains.

Getting harry potter vibes everytime someone says grindelwald
Hi Scott another great vlog keep up the good work. I was on a skiing trip to Wengen/Grindelwald back in the mid 1980s. I went up the jungfraujoch and it was amazing. When the train reaches its destination you then climb a series of stairs and come out of an observatory. The views are absolutely stunning worth the price of the ticket for sure.
Great video Scott.ππ€
Thank you β€
Excellent vlog ad usual π looks wonderful, we want to go to Switzerland and this is us great travel guide
A higher pint can be had on top of Zugspitz, about 2910 m.
You should have done a bit of research on Grindelwald, you would have discovered Mount First, and the beautiful cliff walk.
Stunning scenery, what an unbelievable place to visit. You could spend weeks just riding the trains. I know I could. Cheers Scott
Spectacular scenery ππ
This is a fantastic place, I will definately be going, another great vlog Scott
What a wonderfully opportune video! We coincidentally booked flights to Switzerland yesterday and while I was enjoying this, my partner just happened to be searching for train journeys and tours to Jungfraujoch! I wasn't expecting this to be part of my research, so thank you π
Brought back many happy memories, went to Lauterbrunen on a school trip in 1953 when I was 13, and in 2000 on a return visit for my retirement and stayed in Grindelwald, thanks for the memories
part of me is wondering g why you didn't just walk from west to Ost, but then I remember that I did exactly the same (was travelling on a Swiss travel pass, I did it a few times… )
Great video as always nice to have met you at last post after St Mirren's 5-1 win against killie
Beautiful when the sun is out. The view wd have been stunning from top of Europe/ Jungfrau mountain.
But if you're not used to hights, can mess with your cardio.
You missed out Scott. Jungfraujoch is amazing. Ice tunnels, sculpture, trails and glaciers. Wonderful views and just the experience.
The scenery was spectacular from the station (the first station). In fact all the way through. I could ride around all day on the trains just looking at the scenery.
Have a look at Paisley's town crest. It's quite nice imo
Great video… again. When you are in that region you should visit the Aareschlucht in Meiringen. Greetings from the Netherlands, Ralf
Another stunning and informative video! Might make a trip there next year. Keep up the great work, Scott!
Really spectacular views. I think it would have been good to go up to the Jungfraujoch – as well as being entertaining, these videos can be educational. When I was in Switzerland, I was told it's a myth that their trains run like clockwork; it's something like 87% on time.
I haven't been here but the sound of the birds that hang around these places reminds me of the Jenner in Berchtesgaden. They're like blackbird crows and know when they're onto a good thing where tourists are usually eating.
How on Earth could you miss the Jungfrau summit train station with a YT channel named ike this !?! Anyway, fantastic footage, Scott ! Thanks.
I did the trip to kleine scheidegg at the cost of Pint was about same in 2017.Walked down to Grindelwald.Amazing views there
We were in Bern, Thun and Kandersteg many years ago with a very dear friend from Switzerland. I very much enjoyed your videos of this beautiful country. From west of Ireland.
At school in early 80s we stayed in the youth hostel at Interlaken. We bought a public transport pass which allowed us to travel as you have, and yes too expensive to give to Jungfrau. Great to see this again.
I love how colourful and well decorated the trains were. In that brilliant sunlight with the backdrop of spectacular mountains and even some nice buildings it looks delightful. I remember that feeling of travelling around Switzerland, especially that part of it, it was such a pleasure.
Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen have been on my bucket list for a few years now, but never made it (yet). This is the first video I've seen of the area and makes me want to visit even more – maybe this summer? Thanks, Scott!
Looks so beautiful lovey views scott canβt believe how clean the trains where and on time shame we donβt have the same in our country!
Great video Scott, I remember going on the same trip 60 years ago on a school trip staying in a small town called Fruitigen. Brings back memories π
So when are you going to follow Steve Marsh and add Canada trips!!
The FERRY TRIP from Canada to France is just an hour!! (Saint Pierre and Miquelon). Then take the train from Halifax on the Atlantic to Vancouver on the Pacific – with appropriate stop overs.
Loved the train at the start with a tiger on the side.Switzerland never disappoints.Would loved to have seen the north face of the Eiger. At the end of the Clint Eastwood movie The Eiger Sanction there is a scene where he is hanging on a rope outside the station window at the station inside the mountain.
You missed out on an experience you would remember for the rest of your life. I first went to the top of the Jungfrau fifty one years ago, and the experience has stayed with me. From the top of the Jungfrau you can see France, Germany and Italy. However they do say third time lucky.
Scott. I've been watching your videos for nearly three years now; but this is your best one yet. I like it that you didn't overdo the commentary, but let the beautiful scenery speak for itself! You lucky man!
Great video but you will have to stop! Every time I watch one of your videos my bucket list gets longer!
It's like a train wonderland there!
Jeezo Scott, the locations are breathtaking!! You certainly got the weather for it. That's going on my bucket list.
Fantastic ride on the rack railway you did use: not just steep but remarkably quick too!
Thanks for sharing your experience, Scott… π
I went up the Jungfraujoch when I lived in Switzerland. An annual half fare pass card (that tourists can also buy for short term) makes the journey almost affordable.
I had problems breathing up there, it made me feel ill. Anyone else with lung problems should be careful. There were 2.5 francs to one pound in 1997 now 1.1
Grindelwald was so wicked.
You could have mentioned that Grindelwald is kind of the base camp for the Eiger if you are climbing.. it's not just any resort town, it's kind of the genesis of all mountaineering . Many amazing stories. I believe on one famous ascent people could follow the progress of the climbers from the hotel terrace. would love to visit the "murder" wall. The reason you might want to go up the tunnel is because I believe that's where some rescue missions have started from..there are exit Points at stages along it's length. I hope I have not mixed it up with another tunnelππ. The mountain is probably the most dangerous after Everest if you attempt the north face. Clint Eastwood also filmed the Eiger sanction there.
The North Face The Eiger sanction 1975 location film Kleene Schiegegg
