Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof is the main railway station of Düsseldorf, the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
The station was opened on 1 October 1891. It replaced the three following stations:the Bergisch-Märkische station of the Bergisch-Märkische Railway Company (BME), originally opened by the Düsseldorf-Elberfeld Railway Company in 1838 in the area that is now Graf-Adolf-Platz as a through station on the company’s east–west line from Elberfeld to its station at Rheinknie.
the Cologne-Minden station which the Cologne-Minden Railway Company (CME) opened in 1845 southeast of the BME station as a terminus to which branches were built from the company’s north–south Cologne–Duisburg main line, andthe Rhenish station built by the Rhenish Railway Company (RhE) in 1877 in Düsseldorf-Pempelfort at the end of a branch line from its north–south Troisdorf–Mülheim-Speldorf line. The branch line was the first section of a line to Dortmund, which two years later was completed as far as Mettmann.
Both the Bergisch-Märkische and the Cologne-Minden stations were on the southern edge of the city and were in the way of the construction of Friedrichstadt. The wish to clear the way for the new development was a reason to build a new station in addition to the desire to bring together the stations and lines following the nationalisation of the railway companies of Rhineland-Westphalia between 1879 and 1882.
Deutsche Bahn AG[a] (IPA: [ˈdɔʏtʃə ˈbaːn], lit. ’German Railway’; abbreviated as DB [deːˈbeː] or DB AG [deːbeː aːˈɡeː]) is the national railway company of Germany, and a state-owned enterprise under the control of the German government. Headquartered in the Bahntower in Berlin, it is a joint-stock company (AG) and the largest railway company in the world.
DB was founded after the merger between Deutsche Bundesbahn and the East German Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1994 after the unification of Germany and has been operating ever since. Deutsche Bahn is the second-largest transport company in Germany, after the German postal and logistics company Deutsche Post / DHL. DB provides both long-distance and regional transport, serving around 132 million long distance passengers and 1.6 billion regional passengers in 2022. In 2022, DB transported 222 million tons of cargo.

DBは旧:西ドイツ国鉄（DB, Deutsche Bundesbahn:ドイツ連邦鉄道）と旧:東ドイツ国鉄（DR, Deutsche Reichsbahn:ドイツ国有鉄道）が1994年はじめに統合、法人化された際に誕生したDBグループの中核会社である。またDBグループの意味でも用いる。ただし、法人化後も依然として国家の所有となっており、実際には特殊法人形態の企業にされたのみである。株式の売却による実質的な民営化は今後の課題となっている。
DBによれば、ドイツの郵便・物流会社であるドイツポスト/DHLに次ぐ世界第2位の運送会社であるとされ、ヨーロッパ最大の鉄道運営会社およびインフラ所有者であるという。DBは、2015年において収益が世界最大の鉄道会社である[1]。2019年には、旅客部門は約 48 億人の乗客を運び、物流部門は鉄道貨物輸送で約2億3,200 万トンの商品を輸送した。

德国铁路股份公司（德语：Deutsche Bahn AG）一般简称为德国铁路或德铁（DB），是一家总部设于柏林的德国国有运输公司，于1994年在法兰克福创立，由原德国联邦铁路及德国国营铁路合并而成。公司重新于2000年迁至柏林，入驻位于柏林波茨坦广场旁新落成的铁路塔。该集团的开发和其它一些中央部门则仍设在法兰克福。目前，它是仅次于德国邮政的世界第二大运输企业，也是欧洲最大的铁路运营商及铁路基建商。因政府长年对德国联邦铁路集团的投资不足，以致2020年代的列车到站正点率降到50-60%（尚不计误点6分钟内与直接取消的班次）而重创德国联邦铁路集团声誉。
德国铁路的企业结构为康采恩式，并拥有超过1000家分支机构或子公司[5]。其中在铁路运输行业最著名的有主营客运的德铁长途运输和德铁区域运输、以及主营货运的德铁信可铁路。德铁网络则作为铁路基础设施企业，拥有德国最大的铁路网络。德国铁路近半数的销售收入来自轨道交通业务；另一半则由运输及物流业务、以及服务供应商业务提供。
德国铁路股份公司的股本金额为21.5亿欧元，其中4.3亿为无面额股份。德国联邦政府拥有其全部的股权。由于联邦政府保留了全部股份，因此德国铁路本身不存在商业交易，其商业化操作由国家控股的下属私人公司完成。该公司的收入有部分来自于与公营机构的服务合同，以及政府对于维护和扩大基础设施建设的财政补贴。
Die Deutsche Bahn AG (kurz DB AG oder DB) ist ein bundeseigener Mobilitäts- und Transportkonzern mit dem Kerngeschäft Eisenbahn. Unter dem Dach des DB-Konzerns betreiben DB Fernverkehr (Personenfernverkehr), DB Regio (Personennahverkehr) und DB Cargo (Schienengüterverkehr) das operative Geschäft; die Konzerntochter DB InfraGO betreibt zudem große Teile der deutschen Eisenbahninfrastruktur und damit das größte Schienennetz Europas. Des Weiteren gehören mehrere Eisenbahninfrastrukturunternehmen sowie eine Reihe von Eisenbahnverkehrsunternehmen zum Konzern. Die DB betreibt den größten Teil des deutschen Schienennetzes wie auch den Großteil des Eisenbahnverkehrs in Deutschland und ist darüber hinaus international im Transport- und Logistikbereich tätig. Die DB entstand 1994 aus der Fusion der Deutschen Bundesbahn und der Deutschen Reichsbahn, gleichzeitig wurde sie im Rahmen einer tiefgreifenden Bahnreform als privatwirtschaftliches Unternehmen in Form einer Aktiengesellschaft aufgestellt, deren Kapital vom Staat, vertreten durch das Bundesministerium für Digitales und Verkehr (BMDV), gehalten wird.
