See why London to Paris by Eurostar was NOT great. BIG Europe Adventure DAY 1
Join me on the first leg of my no-flying journey across Europe, from the north to the far south! In this episode, I travel from London to Paris on the Eurostar in standard class, transferring stations in Paris, with a pit stop at a Parisian Café, followed by a scenic ride on the TGV Inoui from Paris to Marseille to Toulon in First Class. Inspired by shows such as Race Across the World, I make the journey on a budget in my own style.
Episode 2 is here:
🚆 Journey Details:
✅ 03:00 – Depart London St Pancras on the Eurostar
✅ 13:50 – Arrive in Paris Gare du Nord, quick transfer
✅ 16:30 – Gare de Lyon
✅ 18:03 – Depart Paris on the TGV (1st class!)
✅ 21:54 – Marseille St Charles
✅ 27:00 – Arrive in Toulon, ready for the next adventure!
From the bustling energy of St Pancras at dawn to the stunning views of southern France, this leg of the trip showcases how seamless and enjoyable train travel can be. Stay tuned for the next part of the journey as I continue towards Sicily—without flying! The adventure will only feature trains, ferries, and buses.

Looking forward to this adventure 😀
Me too.
Navigo is not the only way to get on the Metro and RER. Paper tickets are still available.
Very Good Video
Fantastic Video. Well Done.
Good stuff, Carl, looking forward to the next part!
Great video!
My god, I’m shocked at the leg room on the Eurostar. The table leg space is the same as a ScotRail class 158 table.. I would love to go on a EuroStar train, but the price of going from Inverness to London then the Eurostar itself is so expensive, it’s cheaper getting the flight from Aberdeen to somewhere in Europe cheaply and obviously quickly. Maybe one day
Thank you for your video, nice trip !
About Eurostar, your train was called at the end an “e300” but known as TMST, TransMancheSuperTrain, the french series number was 3200.
Some trainset runs in domestic services in France, I guess it was Bruxelles <> Nice and lately Paris <> Lille. Also for the low cost service Paris <> Bruxelles called izy.
I like the Paris <> Marseille line. The landscape change many times during the journey, it’s not boring at all.
Paris Gare de lyon is a beautiful station.
For SNCF lounges, you can access only with full gare 1st class ticket or an high level on loyalty program.
For Ouigo, i must say that comparing with 2.class inOui it’s not bad or even better, it’s regional trains seat.
With upgrade “seat with power socket” you travel in a very less crowded coach (outside peak period).
