Easter Special – Discover Cyprus on Good Friday

Join Philip for an informal walk and chat through Oroklini, just outside Larnaca, in Cyprus. We visit the old village and catch sight of the Mediterranean Sea from a beautiful small Orthodox Chapel up on the hill. Then together let’s visit Philip’s favourite cafe in Oroklini: Crossley and Sons!

Here we enjoy some amazingly well baked Hot Cross Buns and see the perfect cold Americano being prepared by impassioned barristo, Zach Crossley.

We also discover the Crossley family’s shared Cypriot and South African heritage (not that unusual in Larnaca!) and also learn all about Greek Cypriot traditions relating to Easter Eggs.

This film represents the first of three daily specials over the Easter Holidays and are being shared on the same day they are filmed. As a result, please accept ‘Travel In The Know’s’ apologies for not having had enough time to review the automated subtitles in English.

  1. Three films for Easter – relaxed (hopefully!) and just to share Easter in Cyprus and reveal a bit more about me over three days. Do you like the film? What have you been up to on Good Friday? Hope to see you tomorrow as well…

  2. Thank you Philip for a wonderful tour around your local part of Cyprus. I imagine your having to leave that wonderful island is work related since if it was my choice, I would never leave the place. It looks so so relaxing. Thank you for introducing us to the family at your favourite café. Am I right to assume it is impossible for Brits to retire to Cyprus post Brexit? I cannot imagine I would be able to pass any test that demanded my understanding Greek or worse, Greek script.

  3. Enjoyable video Philip. You have certainly been living in a beautiful place recently. I’m sorry that your football team have been relegated. My team will be replacing you in the Premiership!
