  1. Place Masséna is the main square of Nice. There are seven statues of kneeling man on high poles which represent the seven continents, and this art is called Conversation à Nice. They are lit in different colours at night. Place Masséna is an ideal place for people-watching and has several restaurants with outside terraces.
Fountaine du Soleil has a statue of Apollo, the god of the sun, and five bronze sculptures representing the following five planets: Earth, Mars, Mecury, Venus and Saturn. It is one of the most iconic landmarks in Nice.
We walk through the Esplanade Georges Pompidou and see the Neuf Lignes Obliques, a sculpture made of nine 30-metres long steel beams which meet at their top. The name implies that the beams are inclined at an oblique angle.
We reach the Quai des Etats-Unis, which is an extension of the Promenade des Anglais and see the azur blue sea and the pebble beaches! It’s very wind but sunny. The Promenade des Anglais is approximately 7Km long and was build by the English in 1822, hence its name. It stretches from the airport to the harbour, along the Mediterranean coast, with the blue sea on one side, and cafés, resaturants and up-market hotels on the other side. One of those hotels is Hotel le Negresco, a legendary 5-star luxury hotel, housed in a belle-époque building.
We turn left on the Quai des Etats-Unis and see a miniature version of the American Statue of Liberty, named Lady Liberty of Nice and it is looking out at the Mediterranean Sea.
We walk to the “I love Nice” sculpture, which was inaugurated in 2016. From here we have breathtaking views on the Baie des Anges, the city of Nice, the Promenade des Anglais, the mountains and we can even see the airport. A perfect place to spot airplanes. We make a u-turn and walk to Cours Saleya.
