Occitanie in the 1970s was a region still very much marked by the rural world, in full transformation, between ancient traditions and the beginnings of modernization. To fully understand the atmosphere of the time, it is important to remember that Occitanie as we know it today (resulting from the merger of Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées) did not yet exist administratively: these two large regions were rather referred to separately.
