This is a walking tour at Leipzig from Augustusplatz toWilhelm-Leuschner-Platz train station passing by the Marktplatz on a very good sunny Spring day.

Leipzig is the most populous city in the German state of Saxony. The city has a population of 628,718 inhabitants as of 2023. It is the eighth-largest city in Germany and is part of the Central German Metropolitan Region
The Augustusplatz is a square located at the east end of the city centre of Leipzig, borough Leipzig-Mitte. It is the city’s largest square and one of the largest squares in Europe. It is also part of the city’s inner-city ring-road and a central hub for its tram network.

Leipzig Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz is an underground railway station in the city of Leipzig, Germany. It was built as part of the Leipzig City Tunnel project and opened on 15 December 2013, enabling passengers to travel directly by rail from Leipzig Hauptbahnhof to the city centre.

The market square is a square of approximately one hectare in size in the center of Leipzig . It is considered the center of the city. The Old Town Hall stands on it , giving it particular historical significance. From 1950 to 1954, the market square was called Platz des Friedens (Peace Square ). Its paving is a listed building
