Beachfront France Vacation AMAZING BEACH HOUSE Normandy (Trouville & Deauville)
[Music] As planned, we landed in Paris, easily rented a car, and headed to Normandy. So, after what is something like, I don’t know, a 16-hour trip. Yeah. There you go. You find yourself driving a car in a foreign country in a car you’ve never driven before. Well, that’s kind of what everyone from America has to do. I guess I should just wait. We are in Bloomville Ser. The destination is on your right. [Music] We were a little nervous because this was the first time we had ever booked through Airbnb. Yeah. We’d used uh VBO before, but not Airbnb. Yeah. [Music] So, we promised to be much better about about filming food cuz when we look at other people, they’re really good at filming the we’re very bad about. So you can see what our first meal here. Oh, it’s a lot of it just Nancy just donated it some of it to her costume. As is her wear. We have neatron spring rolls, some guac champagne, a margarita, and some delicious chai latte. And of course the milk in France. Okay. Here we go. All right. All right. All right. Okay. Okay. All right. [Music] Bonjour. Welcome to Belville. So, so anyway, here we are in our little house by the sea. And you know what this is? You know what? I don’t know what that family was that just people kept falling and dying with the Murdoch family. Anyway, this is the house we rented her. Yes. Here is Okay. It was built in 1930s. In the 1930s by a relatively famous architect who apparently won an award. He did not win an award for this house. This is what the owner told us. So, staircase staircase. Okay. So, the house very quirky. Some might say charming. Others may have, you know, more than one thing can be true at the same time. It is charming. This is the owner’s staircase up to her her part of the house. She does she’s not here, but this is She is adorable though. She met us here and very very charming and very had an amazing life. And she does actually live here in the house. Yes. So, not at this moment. Graciously moved out of the thing there. Yeah. Yeah. Look at this place on the beach. You just got to say this place. There’s all sorts of things that try to kill you. Yeah. from doors that slam your fingers shut. I already almost lost the phone. There’s lots of things that try to kill you. So, the house the house has so many things [Music] Ben look outside. Well, I mean in this I mean please these are actually three hammocks which we do not have set up right at this moment. The weather you know what we always luck out with weather. We don’t have the cushions on this. No. And like this time too we brought beautiful weather that hadn’t been here. So anyway, upstairs, the bathroom is upstairs. The bed, two bedrooms over there and a bedroom downstairs, which is nice. Another fabulous spot that might kill you. Yeah. Yeah. Death death steps. It’s lots of hidden steps and Okay, then. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, the table always set. The table set. Always the same. Sort of like a magical Mrs. Hav. So clearly this was two places. Well, we think that’s I’m Yeah. No, this was two dwellings. Too much into here. We don’t know what goes on. We have no idea what’s going on in here. A bathroom in there. Bathroom in there, which you can see in Yeah. So, here’s the fun thing. There’s that killer staircase in all of the bedrooms. Yeah. In there. In all of the bedrooms, right? One can peek in. Yeah. And see who’s on the toilet, right? or in the shower, which you know it’s France, so oo la. Well, no. I mean, you know, oo la. We’ve got our girl in doing stuff. Oh, wait. It’s Nancy. I’ve made you a cheese and crackers plate. Oh, good. Thank you so much. The the kitchen, which is charming. [Music] So, up the stairs to up the killer staircase. So you come up the stairs by the glass lock and then the first thing you find is this which actually the most terrifying thing of all especially at night when you get up Yes. So, yes, when you get up in the middle of the night, it’s lit down there and you step out, you’re like, and then you walk back up, then you walk past this open space here. Yes. And you’re like, I could go again down. Anyway, here’s the kids’ room, which if we had kids, this is really cute. It’s very cute. And it opens up to this fantastic patio action. Yeah. Hang on. Let’s get a look at that. And it’s got an adorable adorable bathroom. Yeah, it’s the bathroom I’ve sort of claimed. It’s really a cute cute little bathroom and shower area. Yeah, I’ve sort of claimed Okay, so you know what? This house is like Marilyn Monroe. Yeah. In that it looks eight times prettier cuz you know the story. So she’s doing the film with Lawrence Olivier. He thinks she is terrible. She is awful and fat. Fat and horrible. And then they go and do the dailies and they look at the thing and everybody goes like, “Who is that? It’s magic.” That’s like not right. Just magic on film. It’s alchemy. This house is magic. It is sort of It is. So then you go into one bedroom which is amazing. So go in there. It’s the view is just Yeah, this is a really But in fact, maybe tonight we should go in here. Well, we’ll see. We’re kind of moving around. Yeah, we got two chairs in front of this uh the piano because we’re not playing it. We don’t Yeah, we’re not playing it on our vacation. We just want to take a break. Yeah. Uh so there’s We just throw our luggage in there. There’s no closets. No closets, but they got the hanging stuff. Excellent shower. I will say an excellent shower. Yes. And also it has the charming feature of when you Okay. Right. Okay. Right. There’s another peekaboo to the toilet on the toilet. He’s wiping his butt. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah. So, anyway, incredible view. Oh my gosh. Just in the last hour. Look how far that tide has gone out. Yeah. And it goes out way more. It goes out. It goes out past where the little walkway thing is. Past there. It goes out because it starts to look like a golfing tea. Okay. So, so here’s the second Well, actually the third bedroom cuz NY’s downstairs. So, then we go into the other bedroom. Lots of art is everywhere. There’s lots of I mean, there’s a style, man. There’s lots of everything. There’s a No, I mean, you know, everything. a skylight, which to tell you the truth, I had never noticed. You hadn’t? No. Then we go into the room that we’ve been staying in. The blue room. The blue room. Again, lovely view. This would be like one of those houses that you rent and just finish writing your book. Yeah. You know. Yeah. We also think it it reminds us of uh interiors. Woody Allen. Yes. So, we might do them before we leave. Yeah. And then another bathroom which has the tub shower combo which yeah yeah I don’t know I don’t know and then great like you can also see out until right there you’re seeing it on a tiny little road that brings us here. Yeah. So this is the house. [Music] So, Trouv and Dovil are right next to each other, but they have very different personalities. Yeah, they’re connected and the train station is right in the middle. Dovville is very fancy, very, you know, the Hermes store and all this stuff and Trouville is much more, I guess, family oriented or whatever. Um, so it’s very different, but both places are obsessed with muscles and fries. We don’t know that so much about Doville, but when we ate here, everyone was having big pots of muscles and French fries. Muscles and buckets. Buckets of fre. Then Louis really wanted to go to the casino, but without a passport, we were stupid. No entry. Then beautiful. Okay. On the way home. Okay, so look, here’s I had to pee really bad. Like I’ve never seen it in 44 years. I’ve never seen him have to pee that bad. So we had to pull over and I had in this farmland, this French farmland. It wasn’t farmland. It was in a corner of a lot. The house was kind of in the middle. The house was for sale. How’s it going? And they terrorized me. They terrorized me. They know I’m peey and they terrorized me. Yeah. So he’s right behind that little that little wall. Just this little wall on the left there. He’s standing hiding right behind it. What color is it? Perfect. Purple. No. [Music] Look, here we are. It’s sunset in Duville. Look there. It’s a beautiful sunset. It is a beautiful sunset. So this was our first full day in Normandy. So what did you think? It was a beautiful day. It was a really nice day. It started out in Tuk. Touque, which is this little tiny village. Tiny. Had that really cute little market. Oh, with the most amazing mushrooms. The most beautiful mushrooms I’ve ever seen in my life. And then we went to [Music] Wow. Yeah. That was a just an old seafaring town. Yeah. And a nice little lunch there. That was sweet. There were muscles galore. People eating pots of muscles. Muscles and fruits. Really big thing here. See that beautiful sunset? It’s clear at night and it’s just You know what’s amazing? It’s 10:00. Wow. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music]
