Carnac Stones | Brittany Bretagne France | Music: Manau – La Tribu de Dana | #shorts #carnac #france

During our summer holiday in 2024, my wife Heather and I explored the mesmerising Carnac Stones in Brittany, France.

These incredible megalithic sites, known in Breton as Steudadoù Karnag, are among the most mysterious and extensive prehistoric monuments in Europe.

Set near the scenic southern coast of Brittany, Carnac is a place steeped in legend and history. While the origins of these stones date back to the Neolithic era, their legacy has continued to inspire cultural connections throughout the centuries.

🎵 Music: This video features a clip from La Tribu de Dana by Manau – a Breton hip hop group that beautifully blends Celtic tradition with modern beats. Though stylistically far removed from the Neolithic period, the music’s reference to menhirs and its Breton roots make it a fitting tribute to the region’s enduring heritage.

Incidentally, a comment from a viewer after the video went live informed me that the chorus melody has its origins in an 18th centrury Breton song called Tri Martolod (“Three sailors” in Breton).

Join us as we wander through rows of ancient stones and take in the unique atmosphere of this remarkable site.

Lyrics – first verse:
