Plans for Southeast Asia trip in September 2025

So, this September, I’m going to take another trip over to Thailand and Southeast Asia. And I’m just going to explain a little bit about what I’m doing right now. It’s it’s uh May and I’m just in the planning stages right now, which is it’s a big deal. I have to figure out where I’m staying every night and how I’m getting from place to place. And um it’s it’s a lot of work. It’s not that hard. I can do it and I’m I’m in the process of doing that. Uh so what I’m going to do is fly from uh flying from Tampa to uh Bangkok again and um then when I get to Bangkok I’m going to stay there for a couple of days just you know get done with the time change and everything re readjust the jet lag and from there I’m after I go around Bangkok a little bit. It’s only a few days just just to mostly just to get settled. Uh then I’m taking the overnight train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai up in northern Thailand which is what I did last year. It’s the overnight train and there’s a train station north of Bangkok that that I leave from and uh go from there up to Chiang Mai. I’m going to go in the first class cabin rather than the secondass cabin which I did last year and that should be a lot nicer and I will uh take that gets there like 7:30 in the morning and when I get to Chiang Mai I’m going to check into a hotel and spend the night there and then I’m getting a rental car and I’m going to do the uh Mihan loop around northern Thailand. It’s 400 mile loop and I’m going to drive that uh hit some of the the cute little towns. It’s a very windy road. It’s got a lot of hairpin turns on it. Uh it’s very popular with with motorcyclists, but I’m going to do it in a car. And um you go to places like Mihan Song and um Banrock, Thai, and then back to Chiang Mai where I’ll turn the rental car back in again. And once the rental car is put back in, then I’m turned in, then I’m going to go over to uh Laos. So I take the local bus. There’s a local bus for like $2 and it’s uh like a 4-hour drive um and it goes over to Chiang Kong uh in uh northern Thailand. And then I’ll spend the night there. And then I’m going to take the slowboat again, which I did last year uh the um the Naggi Nagi of the Me and take that down to Luang Purbang in Laos. And that’s two days on the boat, one night in Pacben uh on the Meong. And then when I get there uh to to Luang Purbang, which is a really nice town. It’s great town. I’m going to spend a few days there and I’m going up to Nankiao, which is far northern Laos. And I’m going to um go up there, check that out. That’s very rural and do some hikes. We’ll see how that goes. could be very hot, very muggy. And uh we’ll see how that goes. And then from there, I’m going to figure out some way to get back to Luang Purbang and down to Vang Viang, which is south of of Luang Pbang. And that’s another party town. It’s got a lot of like, you know, tubing on the Meong and um hiking and that whole sort of thing. So, it it should be fun. Um, I’m not really into the partying thing, but uh, we’ll see how that goes. And um, and then after that I’m going down to VNT, which is the capital of Laos. That’s supposed to be a very boring town. There’s like one thing there. It looks like the Arch to Triumph in Paris. And um, you look at that and that’s about it. So I’ll spend one night there and then from there I’m flying from BNTN to CMRreap in Cambodia which is you know that’s it’s going to be like a four or five hour flight uh because you have to go to one town and then stop and then take the next flight to Cmreap. When I get to CM Reap that’s where uh Anchorwat is and there’s a lot of old Cambodian um you know temples and ruins there. It’s and it’s very much like um Tomb of the Lost uh of the Tomb Raiders was filmed there I believe and it’s Indiana Jones sort of thing. So it’s it’s going to be very cool but it’s a very touristy place and there’s going to be a million tourists. So, okay. And then after that, I fly back to Bangkok and I’ll spend a couple of days in Bangkok and um and then come back and um again uh right now I am working on places to stay and I’m doing the the arranging the flights, the rental car, the trains, the buses, everything, all the the travel thing and and it’s pretty much done. It’s pretty much laid out right now. And um and then once that’s done, then I’m going to um then I’m working on what am I going to see in each town and how long do I want to spend, you know, I know how many days I’m going to be in each town, but what am I going to do? What do I definitely want to see? Where do I want to eat? Um and that, you know, what am I doing? The the doing part of it. So, um anyway, that’s that. And um if you’re interested, subscribe to this channel because I’ll be doing updates on this trip as I go. And hopefully I’ll be doing filming over there. And um we’ll see how things go. It should be it should be a good trip. Like I said, it’s going to be five weeks. And um subscribe and and like and uh we’ll stay in touch.
