In this vlog, we take you on a magical day trip through Bosnia and Herzegovina, exploring the iconic city of Mostar, the breathtaking Kravice Waterfalls, and the peaceful charm of Kočerin village.
1. MOSTAR – The Heart of Herzegovina:
We started our day in Mostar, a city rich in Ottoman history and famous for the stunning Stari Most (Old Bridge). Walking through the cobbled streets of the Old Town, we explored local markets, enjoyed riverside views, and soaked in the blend of East and West.
What to do in Mostar:
• Visit Stari Most and watch brave divers jump into the Neretva River
• Explore the Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque for panoramic city views
• Shop for local crafts, copperware, and handmade jewelry
• Enjoy Bosnian coffee at a riverside café
• Try Burek, Ćevapi, and Baklava — highly recommended!
2. KRAVICE WATERFALLS – Nature’s Paradise:
Next, we headed to Kravice Waterfalls, about 40 km from Mostar. Surrounded by dense greenery, the falls cascade into a turquoise basin where you can swim, kayak, or just relax by the water.
Entry & Tips:
• Ticket: €10/adult (May–October) | Children under 7: Free
• Parking: €1–€2
• Optional boat ride: €5–€10
• Bring swimwear and water shoes
• Best time to visit: Morning or evening to avoid crowds
3. KOČERIN – Authentic Village Experience:
We ended our day in the peaceful village of Kočerin, just a short drive from Kravice. Surrounded by vineyards, rustic stone houses, and beautiful churches, Kočerin gave us a glimpse into the tranquil village life of Herzegovina.
Local Food to Try:
• Pita sa sirom (cheese-filled pastry)
• Grilled trout or lamb in local taverns
• Herzegovinian wine and rakija (fruit brandy)
This was the perfect mix of history, nature, and local culture — all in one day. Bosnia and Herzegovina surprised us with its warmth, beauty, and authenticity.
If you’re planning a trip to the Balkans, Mostar and Kravice are must-visits!
