There are many interesting alleys and courtyards, especially in the western part of the old town.

These include the Haasenhof, the Von Höveln Gang in the Hundestraße, the Kalandsgang, the Füchtingshof, the Glansdorps Gang, and many others.
Many of these places are foundations or projects sponsored by social services for low-income people.
Especially in spring and summer, they are green, adorned with flowering plants, and serve as places to meet or relax.

But there are also beautiful places to rest along the canal road.

This is also the home of Günter Grass, a Nobel Prize winner and world-renowned writer. He was also a sculptor, painter, and graphic artist.

Lübeck is famous for its marzipan production. The best known is the marzipan of the company Niederegger.

The shop is located on Breite Straße opposite the city hall. There is also a café and a marzipan museum.

Niederegger’s marzipan has a lower sugar content than regular marzipan, only 35%. Be careful when buying gift certificates. These cannot be redeemed online, only on location.

Besonders viele und interessante Gänge und Höfe befinden sich im westlichen Teil der Altstadt.

Besonders im Frühling und Sommer sind sie grün und mit blühenden Pflanzen geschmückt und dienen als Treffpunkt oder Ort der Erholung.

Aber auch an der Kanaltrave gibt es schöne Plätze zum Verweilen.

Hier steht auch das Wohnhaus von Günter Grass, der als Schriftsteller und Nobelpreisträger weltberühmt ist. Er war aber auch als Bildhauer, Maler und Grafiker tätig.

Lübeck ist berühmt für seine Marzipanproduktion. Am bekanntesten ist das Marzipan der Firma Niederegger.

Die Verkaufsstelle befindet sich in der Breiten Straße gegenüber dem Rathaus. Dort befindet sich auch ein Café und ein Marzipanmuseum.

Niedereggers Marzipan hat einen geringeren Zuckergehalt als normales Marzipan, nämlich nur 35%. Vorsicht ist allerdings beim Kauf von Geschenkgutscheinen geboten. Diese können nicht im Internet, sondern nur vor Ort eingelöst werden.
