UPWOOD HOLIDAY PARK is the PERFECT BASE for visiting HAWORTH & THE SUROUNDING AREA

Good morning and welcome to the channel and welcome to a very noisy storage side. We’re down at the caravan. We’re going away. Last time we were out in it was February. So, we come down yesterday. We give it a really good clean. I’ve done a video of that of how I’ve done it. So, that’ll be the video previous to this one. There’s a track machine moving over at river other side. They’re building new houses over there. And uh also come down and put sterilizing fluid in last night. So, it’s soaked overnight. So, we’re going to rinse that out this morning and leave the water system full on the caravan so we ready when we get to side. So, if you want to know where we’re going, please carry on and watch this video and you’ll find out where we’re going. We’re there for four nights anyway. So, I’ll just go and uh flush this fresh water through if you want to see me do that. If not, just skip through to where we arrive at uh the site we’re going to. Bye for now. Right. So, fetch that water down which is full of fresh water now. I did the same with another one yesterday and put the uh sterilizing fluid in. Right. So, I’ll turn on the power. Batteries up above 13 volts. Turn me pump. We’ll start in the kitchen. That’s foaming up. Well, turn it to cold. So, that’s had a good 12 to 14 hours uh soak with the cleaning fluid in, sterilizing fluid. Right, I’ll do the kitchen sink and the shower. Give it a good run through and then it’ll be ready for us uh when we get up on side and the system will be full of water as well when we get there. I’ll turn that one on. I’ll try and put the full uh 40 L through so it really flushes it out to gold. I’m sure you don’t want to see me do all the tabs. So, what we’ll do now as I get me legs up and we’ll set off. So, we’ll see you when we get to where we’re going. Bye for now. Right, we’ve arrived. We’re at Upwood Holiday Park close to Howeth. So, we’re here for four nights. So, I’ll just show you where we pitched. We’re on grass pitch only with electric. I’ll show you uh where we pitched. Lovely sunny day. Right, here we are. We’re all set up. We’re on a grass pitch. Just electric. Lovely sunny day. It’s a lovely busy site, I must admit. I’ll probably take you a little uh walk around the site. It’s uh varied site. It’s got uh glamping pods. It’s got tenting areas. It’s also got statics. And it’s also a residential park as well, but you’re not allowed into residential park. It’s got like a bar and restaurant. We haven’t actually been to it. And it’s over the weekend. It’s only open over the weekend. I think it’s closed Monday to Thursday. I think reopens again at the weekend cuz it’s busy times. Uh it’s a Monday now and everybody’s sort of gone home after the weekend. So, it’s uh the time to have a little walk around and we’re not uh interfering with people’s privacy. There’s still some people in the pods and that. So, what we’ll probably do a bit later on is take you for a little walk around, but I’ll give you a little information. It’s cost us We’re on grass cuz that’s all that was available and electric and it’s cost us £31 per night. Uh showers, toilet blocks, fairly good actually. Like I said, we haven’t been to the uh bar restaurant area, so I can’t comment on that. Uh apart from that, until I take you a walk around, which will be in a little bit, I can’t really say anything about it cuz I haven’t done a walk around myself yet. Right, we’ll see you in a bit when we go for that walk around. Right, we’ll take you a walk around site. Now, we’ve been to Oakley today. So, uh the actual site, it’s Monday and as you can see the site, we’re all alone down here. is empty and all those across there are seasonals. Their grass pitches there as well. You’ve got uh pods down there. So, we’re actually building maze now. So, we’ll have a little walk around and I’ll start where we uh come into entrance and we’ll just have a quick look around the side. Okay, that’s the entrance road up. You have to take the third turning on the right. The first two take you into the residential park. So, you come up to this barrier here. All we did, we just pressed the button and they let us through the barrier. And there’s a sign stating tourism motor homes tents pods and yurts to the right and tourist motor homes to the left. So these are all uh holiday homes that you can rent out statics and that. So, you drive around to the left and they tell you to park up on the left down here and walk by reception if you’re towing. So, as you can see, tourists and motorrons, please park on the left and walk to reception. So you park up down here, leaving enough room for people to get out there. This is mostly all seasonal down here. So we’ll go around towards reception first. So if you’re towing or in a motor home, you have to walk up this way. And you can see sign in front reception this way. And it also takes you to bar and restaurant. And I think there’s a little shopping reception. Karen went to check us in actually while I waited a bit caravan. There’s some very nice uh statics though. So receptions this way. The first time I’ve been up this way as well. Not time to explore the site. So, I’m exploring it with you. Like, there’s statics down there. There must be storage. This is the bar area. a reception. It’s all closed up and that’s no entrance cuz it’s the uh private park park home for residents. That’s where you check in. I say we’ve not tried in there neither. So Karen says it looks uh very nice in that bar actually. Right. So we’ll work his way to the uh toilet block first. Show you around there. Right. So that’s the road you’ve uh come in on. You can do a big loop round. So it takes you in a big big circle round and comes back up this road. So this is your uh toilet block here. Recycle bits there. The only place to put the gray waste is down that grate there which is like probably your motor home service point. And that’s your only point there. So you’ve got your disabled toilet, wet room, and baby changing facilities in that room. Everything’s key fob as well. That’s your dishwasher area. Laundry in there. That’s your ladies toilet. And you got some pods pods around here. Don’t want to uh impede somebody’s privacy around here. So they’re little pods. look nice with the pods. So, if you got family who haven’t got a touring caravan, you can all stop on the same side. I’ll quick look in the uh laundry music. So, I’ll not stop too long. Washing machine and I’m wash. It’s not a great choice of music the uh radio station they’ve got on. Right, we’ll have a look in Jed Styler. Got music in here as well. Four showers, push button roomy showers and uh waterfall head at top. Travis, [Music] six toilets. Nice and clean. So, that’s toilet’s nice and clean. Got some nice big pods up here. Big green ones. These look very large pods. Very nice. Just have your own little shower room by sounds of it looking at it. Might be wrong. That’s looking up. Nice roomy pictures actually. Right. So on the opposite side of uh where the toilet lock is up there. So these are hard standing pictures. This is all the seasonal area down here. Some stunning views over there though, just admit. Yeah, there’s plenty of uh space as grass areas and that between caravans. Nice spacious pictures. Nicely laid out actually. So, you got some uh pods down the bottom there. More hard stand in there. I think between these pods is a little uh lane you can take your uh dog for a walk on. We’ll have a quick look. Have a look at the views as well. Doesn’t go too far by looks of it, but it got some good views. Oh, one of your rabbits just run in front. I don’t think goes too far. I think goes on to private land then by the looks of it. Yeah, it’s all private land and that. Oh, it looks like there’s a a gate down here. This takes you onto the Mland. So there is uh a walk along the top of the wall and Mand not really investigated that. takes you away from Howeth though. Good views though. So, we’ll carry on with the tour. We’ll show you the bottom end and uh the playground. So you got your dog waist bin there. So you got puds down here. This is grass with electric. Look up at the horse side. And you got a gate that takes you to a walk along a lane there. And then you’ve got children’s ball playing area and [Music] playground. So I was looking up the site again towards those big green pods and we’re just over that edge there. So that’s the play park for the kids. Cool play park actually. I think those are probably 10 pitches with electric. Same again here. F1 and F2. And here is our pitch. Sun’s out. Chairs are out. You can get a picnic bench. That’s his nearest freshwater point. As I said, you got take your great waste up to the uh near the toilet block where the Elson point is. Just for your info, it’s 10 amp electric which is included in the price. Actually, I’ve just found a fresh water point behind the uh electric box. Staunch lovely sunny pitch. You get the sun all day. It’s like I say, it’s not serviced or anything and it is a little bit I had to use me wedge just to level us up a bit, but apart from that, everything’s all right. Here’s me two water bolts. Look at look out over to there. Hope you like that little look around Upwood Holiday Park. It’s a nice uh site actually ideal for Howeth and I think sort of around West Yorkshire area. So I think Ebon Bridge is only about 8 and a half miles away. So we might do that tomorrow actually. Uh but uh it’s a lovely site. If we’re in this area again, I would definitely stop here again. Like I say, shower and toilet facilities are clean. Only thing let down is the bush button, but uh that’s a minor thing. Like I say, it’s a mixture of pods, static caravans, and seasonal touring pictures and tents. So, it cers for everybody. And if you’ve uh want to come away as a family and they haven’t got a touring caravan, they can hire a pod out while you’re on the touring site, vice versa. So, it uh caters for everybody. Like I said, we haven’t been in the bar or the restaurant, so I can’t comment on that. But uh it’s been a nice day. So this is a second full day here and uh we go home there as last full day tomorrow then we go home the day after. So this weather keeps up. We’re going to sit and enjoy this sunshine. So if you enjoy this little video, don’t forget to do the normal youtuby stuff and we’ll see you in the next video. I’m not sure where we’re going or what we’re going to do. We might go to Ton Bridge. I’m not sure. But uh we’ll see you in the next video. Bye for now.

In This Video I take you on a tour of the Upwood Holiday Park in Oxenhope, near Haworth in West Yorkshire. We are staying there for 4 night break

  1. Hi Andrew and Karen, Lovely area and we like the walk straight out of site 👍. As you know Andrew, we prefer a fully serviced pitch. All the best, Rob & Gail 😀

  2. Hi Andrew. Hope it’s okay for me to pass on information from our caravanning dealerships over the years with handovers, and advice. We have always been told to never tow the caravan with fluids on board due to the extra payload and noseweight and also the instability of the caravan if fluids are sloshing around. Also, when we had a motorhome for a short while we were assured that it was okay to drive with some fluids on board as the tanks in those have baffles, unlike caravan tanks. We sterilise our water system the first night on a site and just use a 10 lyric jerry can during that time. It’s easier than taking an Aquaroll to storage for that task. Hope it’s okay to share. Kind regards.
