Chessington World of Adventures Review | UK’s Best Family Theme Park?
Chessington World of Adventures is a family-friendly theme park just outside of London. Owned by Merlin, this is a full-fledged resort. It features an amusement area with 4 operating roller coasters plus some unique non-coasters (flat rides, dark rides, water rides). And there’s also a zoo! All this makes it a strong contender for the UK’s best family park. In this review, I will share my in-depth thoughts about this park.

Paultons is better in my opinion, though with the zoo Chessington does have a lot to offer for families.
Paultons is 100% better than Chessington, better theming, better coasters, better operations, shorter queues.
Went for the first time this year. Vampire was the best part of a 2 hour wait cos it kept breaking down, and as cool as the station is the organ can get repetitive. Thankfully I had plenty of podcasts to save my sanity.
These days, Merlin has 3 signature parks. They are: Chessington World of Adventures, Gardaland and Legoland California. They are Merlin's most profitable theme parks. Alton Towers is highly visited, but it's not as profitable as Chessington. Alton Towers is no longer a priority park for Merlin. Yes, it still does receive investment, and there are some nice things on the way… but Chessington is the park receiving the most amount of attention right now due to how profitable it is. Next season, young families will get a Paw Patrol themed land. 2027 will bring a very elaborately themed land containing the most innovative attraction we have ever seen at Chessington.
On the subject of what family park is the UK's best: Paultons is a better value for money day out and will probably be the UK's best theme park by 2028.
I'll be there in a few months!
I haven’t been to either but based on what I’ve seen and heard about to two parks Paultons seems like the better park especially with the new Viking land announced, tho I am very excited to see the Minecraft land
Was the parks Top Scan unreliable
Great Review, I personally haven’t been there, but I am so tempted to ride the Arrow/ Vekoma suspended coaster.
The only people who think that Chessington is the best family park in the UK are people who have not been to Paultons. Don’t get me wrong, I love Chessington, it’s only 20 mins from my house, but it’s not even in the same league as Paultons.
🙂😀😃😄😁🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Far from being the UK’s best family park and never will be whilst it’s in the hands of Cheapskate Entertainments. Paultons is far superior on every level.
I hope you can get back to the UK for Paulton's Park soon. Are there any other major UK theme parks that you haven't been to yet.
Personally i haven't been to cwoa but heard it is one of the best family theme parks in the UK. However Paultons Park is highly suggested and being the best theme park for families in theUK.
Going to disagree with the comments saying Paultons > CWOA. Chessington has by far the better ride collection, the only time it is worse would be during peak season where it is rammed, but if you go to both on a quiet day then it's clearly better
Edit: Also, if you're coming from London you'd have to be insane to get anything other than a train. It's tap on, tap off and super convenient
