Second Time Leaving the UK Feels Different, Vanlife UK to Vanlife France

It actually took 20 days to fix the broken van. And finally, the day has come to put an end to 20 days of isolation. Good morning, TV crew. Finally, we’re going to leave this van life community today. We stay pretty good here except the weather. Weather is was horrible. Yesterday’s minus 3° and froze everywhere. Anyways, we are going to leave and before we leave, we are going to meet a mechanic Tony and Tony’s wife Don and say goodbye. Maybe we are going to eat dinner or meal together. All right, let’s get ready. Uh Tony and the Dawn. They leave like 1 hour over 1 hour from here. Then we got to take uh take this one out because it’s cold and everything got frosted. So we put the our our insulation outside. You guys can see uh even when we use it inside it observe the water a lot and it’s kind of trash right now. We we are going to change it when we leave UK. In UK nothing much you can do. Okay. Wow. She has a hard time, too. It’s the coolest TI’s engine’s ever been, I think. [Applause] Oh, no. I haven’t seen No, you’re headed off perfectly. We’re going to head over to Was it Lard? Yeah. L Logs. Lars. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. But it was really nice meeting you guys anyway. Anyways, you really made our stay here much much nicer. So Oh, that’s kind that’s kind of you to say. That’s kind of what you say. All right. Give me a hug. All right. Take care. All right. Safe travels. Drive safely. You go. Yeah. No. Well, you’ll see us again. Okay. Yeah. We take care. Let’s go. At least the roads are unfrozen now. Desperately they’re frozen solid. Let’s go. Let’s go. Finally, we are going. Everything is frozen and frost. We haven’t seen this sunset for a long time, right? We were so distracted by a sunset and we miss actually we took the wrong road. They are cute. You guys don’t try like wear the uniform, right? Like them, right? In Korea, we do. We wear the uniform. Get back to that road. There’s the road that we came up and eventually meet. Okay. Yeah, they’re here. I don’t think you can see us. Yeah, I think it’s too dark. Guys, we are going to like eat dinner right now. Look at this. It’s freaking cold. We found this restaurant and most places take off. So, we could This is I think only one we can sit together. So, we’re going to go in. I think they’re already in. There you go. You like the sitting arrangement? Yeah. So, you’re saying this place is like a award-winning restaurant? Yeah. All right. Chimmy chang the fish and chip. Oh, yours is tiny. Oh, yeah. It’s steamy. I would say out of all of these, that one’s the most impressive. Quite nice. I thought this was guacamole. No, I was thinking, they’re they’re mushy peas. Oh, yeah. It is spicy. Yeah, it’s good though. A little bit. Yeah. Puna, everyone. Do you have a word in Scottish that’s like puna? Basa. What? Pasta. Pasta. Tasty. Pasta. Spicy. Can’t handle the spice. Huh? You just taste what meals. You just realized. Two spicy birds. Yeah. No, that’s actually really smart. You try two different and you switch. Since we were dating, I would order something, she would order something, she doesn’t like her food that much, switch every time. And when we were first dating, Lucy could not eat any spicy food. So, I I’m at the extreme opposite end. I would eat like the spiciest food you could imagine. But now, I can’t handle like super spicy foods, but like since we’ve been living together for a long time. Well, you’ve adopted. Yeah. So, she can eat a little bit spicy food and I can’t eat it spicy. I like this food. So, did you guys have a good time with us tonight? Yes. What do you guys want to do tonight? If you guys are tired, you guys can just go home, too, cuz you had a long day today. Early the next morning, Tony and Donna had another repair call. So, we say our goodbyes and parted ways. We woke up early in our friend’s neighborhood. Taking the scenery we haven’t been able to see at night. Now that it was time for us to leave the UK, we decide to travel from Scotland to do, we moved from Larks to Nottingham, wandering the streets and capturing the typical British atmosphere. Sen and buildings that could only be found in the UK. Then we head to South London and saw the fascinating floating homes on the Temps River. It made us reflect on the many different ways people choose to live. Finally, we arrived in the place called Chilim, not far from Dover, where we spent our last night car camping. [Music] You’re so wet. Right here. Still right. It’s still right there. I think it was right to this line before, so it fell a little bit. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Good morning TV crew. Today we are going to take a ferry from UK to France. Actually before that we had a little bit of issue with the TB. A few days ago we found that the uh TB was kind of leaking a little bit for the brake fluid. We found in the our like leveling vlog so parking brake or side brake had a warning light. I think she really hates UK weather. I’m sorry, British people. Yeah, I think she doesn’t like the wet and cold weather. So, we are going to serve that one when we get to the France. So, today we got to leave. Let’s go. Ready to go? Yeah. Ready to go. I forgot to change the spin car. Huh? You need to change your nails. No. We get there, we can Oh, he’s starting to cough, too. Oh. Oh my god. Maybe finally catching a cold. Don’t you think it’s a perfect weather to leave the UK today? One kind of weather we came in on, right? Let’s go to the port. Oh my god. This one’s actually not that bad. Turn right. Turn right onto the road. So confusing. So confusing. Keep left. I think it’s one way, right? On day two. When we get confused, we usually say keep left. Says dober. Dober. Dober. Oh, I can see you. White clips. It’s kind of greenish. This way. This we go for cars, right? We’re not in the truck line. Oh, we’re already coming into the control area. Passport. Hi. Oh, it’s the French here, not the UK. So weird. But please know next security. Oh wow. Wow. Okay. Okay. This Yeah. Korea, right? Any kind of anything dangerous then sharp or explosive? Bombs, guns, knives, drugs, pepper sprays, anything like that. We have our kitchen utensils. That’s it. Yeah, that’s I need to have a quick look. Yeah, absolutely. [Music] So different from last time. Let’s check in. Hi. Hi. Can I have your passport? Uh, yeah. Is the van Korea? Yeah. Yeah. Must have cost a lot of money to get it here. Uh, yeah, but we did it over 5 years. So, thank you. Thank you. We’re here early. This is our Guys, we got to the ferry portal. That’s my personality. Seriously, I don’t want to rush any like things. We are the first car on our line and our fair is not here yet. My new bag charity shop. I’m telling the story of this bag. So, since I got into UK, you guys saw so many footage that I went to the charity shop. I loved that. I love the concept. So right before we leave UK, Mark said like, “Are you sure you don’t want to deter any shopping?” Actually, yeah, I think other European country there are not that many. So we stopped by the uh Queen Elizabeth and the other few stores. And I found this one brand new. It has the uh the cover with the paper and then they sell it like £10. So I bought it. This is my new bag now. It’s a nice bag. Yeah, I’m happy with it. I’m kind of sad that like someone just, you know, didn’t have a chance to use it, but I’m going to use it well. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, there’s a shops or cafe or something. Okay, I’m blue. Blue. Blue. What a fashion palist. Then we do tons of confident confidence, right? Walked through here. You can see the Burger King and Costa coffee. Have a currency exchange. Let’s go through this one. It says do not push. Do you want some coffee or tea? No, I’m good. There’s no duty-free here. Huh? Did you find anything good? This one. This one is the uh we need a poo. But I don’t have a pound anymore. I have a one pound. I go to get that. Yeah. What did you find? The beer cup. Nice. There’s the lady princess. All right. Should we go back to the car? Yeah. You look sad. How was your travel in UK? You were you were the one excited, right? My personal experience like I guess three years ago wasn’t that great. So I didn’t have a high expectation to be honest, right? But it was so great this time. Everyone is so nice and southern England was really cute houses and cottage. Wales was so nice nature and Scotland just what cherry the top. Yeah, that’s so beautiful. And we never did hiking that much, but Oh my god, we did a hiking a lot with trying to board. Yeah, first truck is going on. Okay, I’m going to start our car up. So, we park here, I guess. So here we go. We are going from do to Kayutington. Absolutely. 16 20% off Valentine. We’re going to be too sick to feature anyway. We’re just starting to get catch our clothes, right? You can get the um reflector stickers here for your headlight. Oh, this this would have been useful. Conversion chart, right? Look at this. You can get a sticker to remind you of how to do a roundabout. Oh my god. You have alcohol breath laser tests. I think friends is mandatory. I think fair is pretty nice. Don’t you think? Oh, this one is better than the um the FBS and the piano. Should we go outside? Bye-bye my UK. We had a great time. Bye. We are closing to the Kal Kal port. I can see we’re just entering right now. There you go. Soon we are going to unload our cars and drive in France and opposite side of the road French. Commercial drivers and bus drivers, please proceed to the car. Follow 1 hour, right? Oh, keep right. All right, keep right. Oh my god. Cops. Cops. Yeah, I guess it’s proud. Oh, we are proud. I think that’s it. Welcome to France. Let’s go this way. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This way. We park up the uh car for market and we are going to get the uh SIM card cuz we don’t have a data car for how many gigabytes is about 250 gig. Okay. For one month. Okay. You want this? Yeah. Decline. Oh, Korean card. All right. Right. Right. Cuz sometimes we cannot use in France. That’s uh Yeah. Nice. Your phone number. Uh-huh. Okay. Okay. It’s okay. It’s activated. All right. Thank you. You’re welcome. Bye. We got to find their parking to sleep. I think it’s just a farm field dirt road there. Oh, and it’s kind of a lab on dirt road. Okay. Should we try it? You see the marshmallows? Yeah. Yeah. I can see that. I can see that. Yeah. Yeah. I don’t know what happened to this road. It’s a little bit rough. Yeah. Your destination is on the left. How you like the camping spot? The recipe I captured. Oh my gosh. I can’t see you at all. Where are you, Lucy? I’m in dark spot. Don’t mess up with me. There you are. I’m a dark spot. Don’t mess up with me. Okay. Finished. Yeah. Oh, pop’s already in there, huh? Yeah. Oh, wow. It’s good. It’s good. Different. Good for my throat. [Music]

  1. Don't worry Lucy am Scottish not british , and brexit is so ludicrous but Scotland did not vote for it higher prices and restricted travel abroad, well do fools .

  2. I remember back to your 1st UK visit during the pandemic and you were locked out of the cemetery water source and there were very few camping/parking opportunities! Glad things have changed and that you’re doing well!

  3. Don’t worry, the Poms don’t like their weather either. In fact there are probably more Pommy accents here than there is there at the moment. It would drive me nuts living in that sort of weather. Safe travels.

  4. What is your backstory? Where were you raised (you sound like most likely raised for a while in an English-speaking country, particularly I hear a hint of Australian accent in the lady's voice)? How did you meet? How did you decide to commit to this for years? Do you plan to stop and settle down at some point? Do you have kids (probably not)? Do plan to have kids later?

  5. Im so happy everything turned out good I was very worried for a time and Luce I love your enthusiasm it proves that you cant keep a good woman down lol hope your adventures in France are awesome and no more Tubi hiccups she's an old soul lol
