Ninh Binh Vietnam BREATHTAKING Beauty Will Leave You Speechless
They’re using the feet. Oh, look at that. Feet there. Ning Bing is one of those places that makes you stop and say, “Wow.” Seriously, everywhere you look, it’s towering limestone mountains, peaceful rivers, and rice fields that just seem to go on forever. If you’re craving nature at its absolute best, you’re in the right place. And you’re coming along with me and my family on this adventure. First stop, Hu, Vietnam’s very first capital. It’s old, it’s stunning, and it’s packed with history. Then, we’re jumping into a tiny rowboat at Tamkok, where the scenery looks straight out of a postcard. No trip to Ningbing is complete without climbing Hang Mua. The view from the top absolutely worth it. The hike, not so much. And of course, food, because let’s be real, no trip is complete without it. Including the local specialty, goat meat. Yep, goat. So, enough talking. Let’s dive in. Our tour today is to visit Ningbing. I hope I didn’t murder the name. How you pronounce it? I’m not sure. But yeah, we’re going to Ningbing. A lot of people said it’s a very beautiful place to visit. So, we’re going there today. Vietnam have first king and first king of Vietnam. He named Dinguan. The best way to explore Ningbing. Book a tour guide. Honestly, booking a tour takes out all the stress. No need to figure out roots and schedules. Just sit back, relax, and let the pros show you the best spots. After a 2-hour drive from Hanoi, we arrived at Halu, Vietnam’s first ever capital. And let me tell you, the scenery here is breathtaking. So, as you can see in the background, there’s a lot of limestone rocks, just like in Halong, but not on the water. Right at the entrance of the capital, I spotted a water buffalo standing proudly with its caretaker, ready for a photo op, for a fee, of course. and 20,000 20,000 for any picture. Thankfully, our guy jumped in to negotiate the price for us because we had zero idea what the going rate for buffalo selfies. So, we have a lot of water buffaloos in the Philippines, but so you can get the whole body of still like take some picture. And here’s a cool little fact. Vietnam’s first official name was Daikovit. Oh, yeah. D meaning big meaning great Vietnamese people Vietnam yeah the big country belong to most of Hu’s original buildings are long gone but the temples of kings Ding and Lee still stand strong after all these years centuries old landmarks have been recognized as part of Vietnam’s top 100 famous monuments this is the main temple of the king so let’s Well, let’s go inside and check it out. All right, everyone. I told you so Vietnamese people will come here to pray anytime when they have free time. But uh the the most of the time they will come here in the back day. This temple is more than just a historical site. It’s a living tradition. Locals and visitors come here to bring offerings and burn incense carrying on the customs that have lasted for centuries. This a real wood? Yeah, a real one. Real wood. And everyone can take a look. The main sanctuary of King Ding’s temple is truly something special. The moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by intricate wooden carvings. These carvings weren’t just made yesterday. Vietnamese artisans crafted them between the 17th and the 19th centuries, showcasing impressive skill and creativity that still amazes visitors today. At the far end of the sanctuary, you’ll find a bronze statue of King Ding and his three sons. You can’t walk right up to it, but you can peek at it from the small window. After all the exploring, it was finally time for my favorite part, lunch. Our guide took us to Tamkak Memory Restaurant and honestly, it was the perfect spot. Cozy atmosphere, great food. I was ready to feast. We are having lunch right here. Hang me pineapple juice. Okay. With ice. We have a menu already for lunch. There’s a lot. You have to eat two appetizers. And the main course there’s 1, two, three, four, five dishes and a dessert. So, can you try to sell it already? No, no more paid for. First up, pumpkin soup. It looks rich and creamy and tasted absolutely delicious. Thank you. Warm, smooth, and bursting with flavor. Next, a fresh salad and a spring roll arrived. As a little extra touch, the chef had carved a tomato into a rose. A small detail, but it made the dish feel special. We saw kumquat juice in the menu and we couldn’t resist. Had to try it. We call it in the Philippines [Music] lemonito. Then came the veggie spring roll. Light and packed with fresh ingredients. And then dip [Music] it spring roll. Dip it on the sauce. Sauce is really good. Sweet. A little bit sweet. Spicy. As I was enjoying my spring roll, the pan fried eggplant landed on the table. The eggplant. Unfortunately, this one wasn’t my favorite. Nori makes amazing eggplant. not so much a fan, but this was the only dish I didn’t love out of this incredible meal. Next, I tried the beef. So, this is the beef um dish. As we were told, we have to take the dumpling. This one you have to dunk it over [Music] here. Taste it. I don’t know if I don’t It’s I was doing the right way. [Music] And wow, that was really good. So, naturally, I tried it again, but this time with even more beef. Oh man, that was delicious. Oh, Vietnamese food is really good. Then I tried the beef with rice and so even just with the beef and rice. Oh my goodness. So good. Wow. Vietnamese really knows how to improve. Right as I was savoring the beef, the dish I’ve been waiting for. Goat meat finally arrived. That’s goat meat. Goat is a little bit gy. It has a gy smell. Strong gave me smells. But let’s smell. Will I smell? No, there’s no smell like lemongrass. It’s not gy. There’s no gy smell on the go. So, let me try to taste it now. I started simple, just tasting it with rice first. That’s good. You don’t smell the goat goat smell, but it’s just a little bit chewy. They know how to cook goat here. Yeah, this is my dad will like this one. The goat made is really, really good. Vietnamese really knows how to cook, man. So good. And wow, that was the highlight of our meal. After lunch, we set off on a boat tour. And to be honest, I had no idea what to expect at Tomark. All I knew was there were a lot of people. So, right now, we’re going for a boat ride. Same as what we did when we had our cruise at Hollow, but there’s more people here, but it’s river ride. The starting point was pure chaos. Boats everywhere, people rushing around. I learned that locals could have up to four people per boat, while tourists like us were limited to two per boat. Yeah. Careful. [Music] And just like that, we were off. [Music] So funny. Someone knows uh the one who is driving the boat, they’re using their feet to uh maneuver to paddle the boat. Look at that. Just minutes into the ride, I realized this was going to be unforgettable. Off in the distance, those iconic limestone rock formations started coming into view, and I knew we were in for something special. So, the water is a little bit murky, but it doesn’t smell, though. There’s no smell. At first, we floated past restaurants and hotels, sitting peacefully along the river banks. But the moment we passed the last bridge, it felt like stepping into another world. The true beauty of Ningbing was finally revealing [Music] itself. Then came the rice fields stretching endlessly on both sides of the river framed by towering limestone cliffs. It was absolutely breathtaking. And on the sides you can see rice fields on both sides over here as well. Rice fields. At this point I thought, okay, this must be the highlight. But nope, not even close. But then we floated right into a cave. Like underground river in Palawan. [Music] So as you can see we are so dark right now because we are like in a cave like in Palawan the underground river something like that. So we are now cruising underground and then as we emerge out of the cave the mystical beauty of Ningbing revealed itself in full force. Honestly, breathtaking doesn’t even begin to describe it. This view is so beautiful. [Music] And then mountain goats. There’s mountain goats there. Wow. Goats. Yeah. Goats. Goats. There’s a lot of goats. There’s three. Yep. Climbing the edges of the rocks like total pros. Well, I ate that goat. As we keep cruising, I started wondering how long is this boat ride anyway. So I asked the guys steering the boat. So the the the the river is 6 kilometers long, but they don’t seem to be tired at all. I mean, they’re enjoying what they’re doing. I’m guessing they have been doing this for quite some time now, but I can’t imagine myself doing this. And uh like thank you for all these people you know without them we cannot enjoy this scenery uh by cruising through the river. We passed through another cave and finally we reached the end of the boat trail. We are already here. That’s the end of the trail. We are now going back to our starting point. This was truly a once- ina-lifetime experience, and I can’t help but feel grateful for the Vietnamese boat operators who do this tough job every day. It’s physically demanding, but without them, we wouldn’t get to experience this out of this world journey. And just like that, back to the chaotic starting point. And just when you think you’ve seen the best of Dingbing, there’s one more surprise waiting on top of the mountain. But don’t be fooled. Getting to the top of Bhang Mua is no easy hike. So right now we’re going to go up the mountain cuz there’s a beautiful view up there. Um it’s a bit cloudy right now. I don’t know if you see anything, but yeah, we are at the foot of the mountain. So we’re going to start climbing in a few steps. At first, the trail seemed simple enough, but after a few steps, it got steeper. I could feel myself running out of breath. If you have knee problems, please do not climb here. There’s 500 step to go to to the top. I’m already having shortness of breath even with just a few steps. What the heck? I think we’re taking a right. We had to make several stops just to catch our breath. But with every break, the view got better and better. It’s like a temple on top right there. Okay, now we go down. There’s like temple there. We’re going to go up there and All right, keep going. Then back to climbing. This is kind of a workout, but it should be rewarding at the top. Not your problem, man. It don’t work out. The fog was so thick that day that climbing all the way to the top didn’t even make sense. You couldn’t see anything except the fog itself. So, we’re not going really to the top. cuz there’s nothing to see due to the clouds. So, we just reached to the viewpoint. That’s the viewpoint over there. Just a few more steps. But those final steps to the viewpoint absolutely brutal climb. Almost there. Almost to the top. I went to the viewpoint. [Music] This is the point reach it. Here we are the new pond. Right here is the better to take a picture. Yeah. [Music] This is stupid. Even with the farm, the reward at the top was incredible at the top. I mean, this is not related to the very top, but it is still beautiful out here. You can see the stupa just mountain. There’s another stupa on the other mountain. When you pass, you also see the the river cruise. There’s still cruisers in [Music] really nice. So relaxing here. We didn’t stay long at the viewpoint since the sky was starting to get dark. As we made our way back, we noticed Chinese lanterns glowing softly at the foot of the mountain. They gave the place a beautiful peaceful ambiance. The lanterns uh gave a beautiful ambiance to this the walkway. Yeah, it’s so beautiful. We visited a lot of places today. I really enjoyed here at Ningbin Ning Bing, I hope I pronounce it correctly. Um there’s a lot of things to see here, especially if you like nature. So if you like nature seeing all those towering uh limestone mountains and you know from uh cruising the Trump trunk river, this is the place to be. Uh the river itself is really really stunning. If you want to see the shocking condition of intercontinental Hanoi Westlake, click on the thumbnail. Until next time, fellow travelers. Bye for now. [Music]
