“Little Kyoto” in Tokyo You’ve Never Seen Before | Shinjuku, Rikugien, Kagurazaka |JAPAN TRAVEL VLOG

Hi everyone, this is Mona😊 Today I’m in Shinjuku. This area is surely what you imagine Shinjuku to be, right? This area is exciting and fun, but I don’t like crowds. So today I’m going to visit “Little Kyoto” in Tokyo and places where I can feel Japanese culture. Today’s trip begins here, at the east exit of Shinjuku Station. The city is completely in a Christmas mood. Wow, the entrance has a Japanese atmosphere✨ I’ll have an early lunch here. I think I’ll have a Chicken Sukiyaki Set Meal. Beautiful appetizer♡ I’m happy to eat a little bit of all kinds. A luxurious moment enjoying the chef’s skills right in front of me Looks delicious! The sweet and spicy taste goes well with rice. I’m full. Now, let’s head to my next destination. About 15 minutes train ride from Shinjuku Station I’ve arrived at Komagome Station. Let’s take a walk from now! Wow, how beautiful🥰 “Rikugien Gardens” is one of the two great gardens of Edo (old name of Tokyo). It is a Japanese garden that was created by Shogun’s aide at that time over a period of seven years. The chirping of birds and the sound of water are relaxing. More than anything, the autumn leaves are so beautiful that they are fascinating. I can’t stop taking videos. This seems to be a tea shop. If you have time, it would be nice to relax here. Hmm? There is some kind of broadcast. An event to get familiar with Japanese culture is being held near the exit. I was able to enjoy a wonderful walk♡ About 10 minutes train ride from Komagome Station I walked from Iidabashi Station to Kagurazaka Street. At first glance, it seems like an ordinary town, but Kagurazaka is called “Little Kyoto in Tokyo.” Before walking around this hidden Little Kyoto, I stop by a shrine I have always wanted to visit. This is Akagi Shrine. This shrine has more than 700 years of history, but the current worship hall was rebuilt in 2010. It’s a modern and sophisticated shrine that we don’t see very often. Let’s worship. Now it’s time to walk around Kagurazaka! Wow, what a cute variety store😍 Main street in Kagurazaka which is now bustling with variety stores and chain stores But in fact, Kagurazaka once flourished as Hanamachi (entertainment district with Japanese traditional culture). If you step into the backstreets, you’ll find many tasteful alleys still remaining. Let’s take a stroll through the backstreets. This alley off the main street This alley, which you might pass by if you’re not careful, is the entrance to “Hyogo Yokocho Alley.” The tasteful cobblestone alley lined with long-established restaurants It’s also known as a filming location for movies and dramas. Next, I head to an alley where Geisha (women performing Japanese traditional songs and dances at a banquet) still practice. This is “Geisha Komichi Alley.” It’s said that many Geisha used to pass through here on their way to their banquet hall. I went down the stairs and find a retro public bath. This is “Kakurenbo Yokocho Alley.” The atmosphere of the old Hanamachi, with its stone pavements, black walls, and old private houses, remains strong. This is a popular shop right next to Kakurenbo Yokocho Alley. l’m looking forward to this Matcha Mont Blanc💚 The Gyokuro (Japanese tea) came first! Pour in hot water and wait 4 minutes. Wow, it’s beautiful♡ It isn’t too sweet, but quite rich and delicious. This channel brings you unique travel experiences in Japan. If you like it, please like, comment, and subscribe to my channel. 1.
