In this video, I take a tour of Angkor Wat and three other historic sites in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Cambodia, Siem Reap and these amazing sites were very prominent in Tomb Raider staring Angelina Jolie. It was just an overall amazing experience for me that I kind of got lost in it. I was able to capture many videos and pictures but I was also at a loss for words reflecting on the history of these ruins.
There are literally dozens of tour companies that will take people to these historic sites. I chose a company that I found at the lobby of Onederz. It’s an amazing hostel. I’ll have more info on this hostel in my next video so stick with me and follow the journey.
If you found this video entertaining or informative, please take a quick moment to give it a thumbs up, subscribe and leave a comment. It doesn’t cost you a thing. But it’s huge for me on the way to 1000 subscribers. So what did you think of Angkor Wat and the other ruins? It’s really hard to capture everything and not make the video too long. But what should I have done better? I’m still quite new at this video editing thing (as of the posting of this video) so I appreciate any feedback – good, bad or otherwise.
Hi and welcome to the LAFTEE channel. My name is Simon and I’m an American expat. Much of my content is providing information on the low cost of living in Southeast Asia. I promote taking advantage of geo arbitrage, especially if you’re an expat from a developed modern country. Often, the prices are about 10-20% of what you would pay in your home country. So think about that for a minute. You’re paying 5x to 10x more in your home country compared to developing countries in SE Asia. Get out of the “rat race” and experience something else. In essence, I want to show you an alternative and perhaps more fulfilling way of life in developing countries. Life isn’t a dress rehearsal. And we get only one chance at it. Much love for your journey wherever it takes you.

LAFTEE is an acronym that I created. L stands for Loving and Living. A is for Adventure. F is for Food, Fun, Family, Friends, Fitness, Finances and Freedom. T is Travel. And EE is Extraordinary Experiences. I’m literally in these Southeast Asian developing countries experiencing first-hand what it’s like to live there. So I hope you come along for the ride!

Hi bro, did you hire a tour guide, or just go alone? I was thinking of getting tuktuk for transport to Angkor and Bayan for around $10 half day, plus ticket of course.
Beautifully documented.ive told u the SR trip is a Must & it’s a historic & magical place 👍
Ahhhmazing ruins…can’t wait to take it all in person when I finally take that leap of faith and grow wings coming down❤Thank You for sharing your journeys as they are very inspiring for me and I’m sure I’m going to be excited beyond words🥰
Awesome and jealous! We had a sunrise tour to Angkor Wat booked but had to choir entire SE Asia trip due to health issues. Hope to get there someday.
