BEST 20 MUST BUY ULTIMATE SOUVENIRS IN MEGA DonQuijote Shibuya :Tokyo Travel Guide 2025
Hi from Tokyo! In this video, I’m
introducing some of my favorite souvenirs you can find at Shibuya Mega Don Quijote. These aren’t
just the typical tourist picks—this time, I’m gonna focus to some items
I personally use and things that are popular among Japanese people
but not widely known abroad. MEGA Don Quijote Shibuya is super easy
to get to from Shibuya Station! Just cross the famous Scramble
Crossing, walk past the 109 building, and you’ll
be there in about three minutes. With its bright signs and lively vibe,
you definitely won’t miss it. Let’s head in and check it out! Today, I’ll be exploring the food, snacks, cosmetics, and pharmacy sections. At Shibuya Mega Donki, Each floor is organized
by product categories like food, anime, merchandise, and more. The variety is incredible on the first floor. They feature seasonal items right at the entrance. I spotted a section full of food sample
magnets. These are handcrafted by skilled artisans. Each one modeled after real ingredients, so no two are exactly the same. The details are impressive, but ¥2,000 is pretty pricey. They have more than just sushi. There are bananas, other fruits,
and a variety of options, making it fun just to browse through them. Now I headed up to the second floor to check out the snacks section. First up, Kit Kats are a must buy. With so many flavors to choose from, it’s hard to decide. Besides the classic chocolate,
there’s matcha peach, sakura, Kinako strawberry, and even Sakura flavor. This time, I’m going with matcha latte and milk tea. Time to open them up! I’m curious to see how matcha latte differs
from the regular matcha flavor. The packaging has cherry blossoms on it, giving it a nice spring vibe. It looks like this one is a collaboration with Ito En, a well-known tea brand. The back also mentions that it uses
Ito En’s Uji matcha. There are seven pieces inside, a bit fewer than the standard chocolate KitKat. The individual wrappers come in two different designs. When I open it up, the color is a soft, light matcha green—pretty simple. The taste is milder
than the regular matcha flavor, making it really easy to enjoy! Now for the milk tea flavor! Unlike the matcha latte packaging, this one stands out
with its checkered design. Another difference
is that each individually wrapped piece comes in a different color,
which makes it feel a bit special. Inside, there’s
a crispy wafer layered with cream infused with black tea extract. The flavor has a nice, delicate tea aroma, making it a really enjoyable treat. Opening it up, the KitKat itself is white! Near the entrance, I spotted a display of
Takenoko no Sato & Kinoko no Yama! There are one of the
classic Japanese snacks! You may heard of it. Their unique shapes make them stand out,
so let’s open them up! Takenoko no Sato was first released by Meiji in 1979 and has been a long-time favorite alongside its sister product,
Kinoko no Yama. Both come in their signature square boxes, a familiar sight for many. Time to open it! The bite-sized pieces are adorable
and packed inside. Shaped like little bamboo shoots, they have a crispy cookie
base coated in milk chocolate,
giving them a melt-in-your-mouth texture. Originally, this snack was developed as a more premium version of Kinoko no Yama. Today, besides the classic milk
chocolate flavor, you can also find seasonal variations like matcha and strawberry! Of course, I had to open up Kinoko no Yama too! This cute, mushroom-shaped chocolate snack was first released by Meiji in 1975 and has remained a long-time
favorite ever since. This small mushroom shape is so iconic. Unlike Takenoko no Sato’s soft cookie base, Kinoko no Yama features a crispy cracker stem topped with a generous
layer of milk chocolate. The light and crunchy texture
is what makes it unique! Because of this difference, there’s
been an ongoing debate for years between fans of Kinoko no Yama
and Takenoko no Sato. In 2018, Meiji even held a nationwide poll, where Takenoko no Sato came out on top! I have to say, I’m on Team Takenoko no Sato. What about you?
Are you Team Kinoko no Yama or Team Takenoko no Sato? Up next is a snack almost everyone knows—Pocky. No introduction needed. This time,
I’m going with the strawberry flavor! Did you know the name Pocky comes from the
Japanese onomatopoeia poki, which represents the light,
crisp sound when you bite into it?! It’s a crunchy pretzel stick coated in sweet and slightly
tangy strawberry chocolate. Pocky has been a beloved Japanese snack since Ezaki Glico
first introduced it in 1966. Among the many flavors, strawberry remains a fan favorite. The soft pink color
makes it especially popular with women and kids. The coating contains
real strawberry powder, giving it a nice balance
of sweetness and subtle tartness. Paired with the crispiness of the pretzel, it’s super easy to keep reaching for more. Besides the classic version,
you can also find limited editions like Tsubutsubu Ichigo,
which has strawberry bits, This one seems like
one of the most popular snack in Shibuya. Chokotto Pucchin Pudding is
a bite-sized version of the classic Japanese pudding,
Pucchin Pudding. It’s perfect for those moments
when you want a quick treat without overindulging. Each pudding comes
in a small, individual package, and you get six in a pack, making it easy to share or enjoy on the go. What makes it so convenient is that it
doesn’t need to be refrigerated, so you can take it with you
anywhere—whether it’s for a picnic, a day out,
or even as a dessert in your lunchbox. The flavor is exactly what you’d expect
from punchin Pudding creamy, smooth pudding with a rich caramel
sauce at the bottom. Here’s a snack that’s both fun and educational—Tabekko Doubutsu! First released by Ginbis in 1978, this long-selling biscuit has been loved for over 40 years. There are three flavors, but I went with the
classic version this time. The pink packaging is super cute. Each biscuit is shaped like an animal and has its English name printed on it, like “LION” or “ELEPHANT,” so you can learn English while you snack. Aside from the classic butter flavor, there are also special editions
like Tabekko Doubutsu Choco, where the biscuits are soaked
in chocolate, as well as seasonal flavors like matcha, strawberry, and caramel. The taste has a light buttery flavor
with a hint of salt, making it hard to stop
once you start eating. It’s not just popular in
Japan—these biscuits are also sold overseas under the name
“Tabekko Animals.” Plus, the cute
animal characters on the packaging have become a hit on social media,
gaining a growing fan base among adults. You can even find
them in capsule toy machines! Another long-time favorite in Japan—Pai no Mi! This is one of those snacks that almost everyone here knows. This time, I’m trying
the Pai no Mi Chocolat version. First released by Lotte in 1979, Pai no Mi has been a classic for decades. The chocolat version features
cocoa-infused pastry dough filled with rich, chocolatey goodness. Opening the box,
you’ll find plenty of little hexagonal pastries, each packed with flavor. The name Pai no Mi actually comes
from the concept of “a pie that looks like a nut,”
designed to be enjoyed in bite-sized pieces. Honestly, I can never stop at just one. The regular version has plain pastry, but the chocolat one has a darker,
cocoa-colored crust that enhances the chocolate flavor. Inside, it’s filled with a slightly bitter chocolate cream, making it a bit
more sophisticated than the original. Each piece has 64 delicate layers of crispy pastry, which pair
perfectly with the rich chocolate. The slight hint of salt
makes the sweetness stand out even more, which is something I really like about it. There are also limited-edition flavors in the Chocolat series,
like Caramel Chocolat and Deep Chocolat. These tend to sell out quickly,
so if you ever spot them, I’d definitely recommend grabbing a box! Stacked high in a noticeable spot,
I found Chocobi! There was also an extra-large version that looked way
bigger than the regular size. Instead of that,
I picked up the limited-edition pink Konpeito flavor! Chocobi is a real-life version
of the fictional snack from the popular anime
Crayon Shin-chan. In the show, it’s Shin-chan’s all-time favorite,
and thanks to its popularity among fans, Bandai actually turned it into a real snack. Chocobi is a crispy, star-shaped
snack coated in chocolate flavor. The usual packaging is green, but this one is a special edition. The moment you take a bite,
the light chocolate aroma spreads, making it hard to stop eating. The packaging looks
just like the one in the anime, so you can enjoy it
just like Shin-chan would. As a bonus,
it even comes with a Chocobi Sticker! I got Bo-chan’s sticker this time! Do you know this gummy? Kororo! I’m addicted to it recently!
Let me show you what it looks like. Lately, I’ve been really into these, so I had to grab some. There were grape and muscat flavors, so I picked up both to compare. To be exact, the flavors are Kyoho grape and Shine Muscat. The juicy-looking grape packaging already makes them look delicious. Inside, each piece
is about the size of a real grape. If you look closely, they even have that realistic grape-like texture on the surface. Taking a bite,
the burst of juice is immediate. Unlike regular gummy
candy, Kororo has a thin outer layer that mimics real fruit skin, while
the inside is soft and jelly-like. The moment you bite
in, it feels like eating an actual fruit. These are easy to find in supermarkets and convenience stores,
and they’re reasonably priced. They also make a great souvenir since they don’t take up much space. If you freeze them, they get a refreshing,
sorbet-like texture, so definitely give that a try! I came across a powdered Sakura Latte mix
that you can make at home! It feels like the perfect way to enjoy a taste of spring,
so I decided to get it. This mix contains freeze-dried domestic
sakura petals, so you can really experience
the natural floral aroma. I’m making it hot this time. Just add three spoonfuls of the powder, pour in hot water, and it’s ready. The color is even more pink
than I expected. The flavor is a mix of fruity sweetness
with a slight salty kick from the preserved sakura petals. It leans more on the sweet side. In Japan, sakura-flavored drinks pop up at places like Starbucks and other café chains during the spring season,
so enjoying one while watching the cherry blossoms
sounds like a great idea. Even after going back home,
this is a nice way to bring a little bit of Japan’s
spring with you. I feel like it would
also taste amazing with milk! I headed down to the basement floor to check out the grocery section! Ichiran is must buy! Many of you might already know this famous ramen brand. At Shibuya Donki, they had a massive display
just for Ichiran products. They offer a variety of items, like grilled ramen and multipacks, but this time
I picked up the cup noodle version! Ichiran is famous
for its natural tonkotsu ramen, and there are several locations
in Shibuya. Their tonkotsu soup
is made entirely from pork bones, using a recipe so secret that only four Ichiran employees know it. To protect this, production is carried out under strict security. The Cup version is priced at ¥490, which is quite high for instant ramen. A bold pricing choice
that speaks to its quality. Inside, there are noodles and two types of soup:
liquid and powdered. There’s also the iconic secret sauce that isn’t just about spiciness—it’s packed with umami and a hint of sweetness, specially developed just for this cup noodle. In Ichiran’s signature style,
the sauce is placed at the center of the dish, and the cup version has its own unique blend. At the restaurant,
you can adjust the spice level and amount to your preference. For the best experience,
try adding the sauce midway through your meal instead of mixing it in
right from the start. This changes the flavor of the soup, adding a spicy kick
and depth to the taste. The creamy, mild, and rich tonkotsu flavor is so close to the original
Kyron taste that it’s almost unbelievable. While there’s no strong pork odor, the aroma and flavor
that linger in your mouth are incredibly similar
to what you’d get at the restaurant. A truly remarkable cup noodle! At the noodle corner, I picked up Midori no Tanuki from the cup noodle section! This one is a soba noodle cup. Right next to it, you’ll
find the red version, which is udon. So let me make the noodle! Maruchan’s Midori no Tanuki
Tempura Soba comes with a classic slice of kamaboko
fish cake. To prepare, simply add the powdered soup, shake the cup gently, and pour in hot water. Let it sit for 3 minutes with about 400ml of water, and your Midori no Tanuki Tempura Soba is ready to enjoy! The standout feature of this cup noodle is, of course,
the smooth and flavorful soba noodles. But what makes it extra special is the fragrant
shrimp tempura included inside. Add hot water, wait three minutes, and watch as the tempura expands into a delicious fritter. The crispy texture and savory shrimp flavor are always a treat. The soba’s aroma and taste are top-notch, making this an all-time favorite. It’s just as good every time! I picked up a spring-inspired drink
from the beverage section. This time, I found a strawberry milk drink and decided to give it a try. There was also a peach-flavored Fanta,
which had a slightly cloudy appearance—pretty different
from the usual look. Time to try the strawberry milk! The color is even pinker than I expected. It actually matches my nail color. The flavor is a perfect
blend of sweet and tangy strawberry with rich, creamy milk. It has less
tartness and a stronger milky taste. Personally, I found it a bit on the sweeter side, but since it’s made with fresh Hokkaido cream, it really brings out that
indulgent sweetness. If you love sweet drinks, this one is definitely for you! Now, onto the miso soup section. There are large bagged options,
but I decided to go for a single-serving cup type this time. They have flavors
like shijimi clam and green onion, but I went with a hearty tonjiru pork
miso soup. Time to make it! Inside the cup, the miso and ingredients like pork and carrots
come in separate packets. All you need to do is pour in hot water, making it super easy to prepare. First, I add the miso, then the packet of ingredients. After that, just pour in hot water and stir with chopsticks,
and the tonjiru is ready. Since it has a long shelf life, it’s
often kept as an emergency food supply in Japanese households. As long as you have hot water,
you can make it in no time, so definitely give it a try! I headed up to the third floor to check out the medical and cosmetic section. The face mask section
definitely has the most variety. Don Quijote carries the super popular rice face mask, made with 100% domestically sourced rice, along with a bunch of fun
novelty masks that let you transform
into different characters. I even spotted ones featuring Doraemon and Sanrio characters, which would make great souvenirs. With so many options, browsing through them is really fun,
and picking out masks based on your skin
concerns adds to the excitement! Kombucha, a great option for dieting! This one is actually from Korea, but it has become a popular health product in Japan as well. There are several flavors,
including peach, blueberry, pineapple, muscat, and lemon. In Japan, there’s
also something called konbucha, but that’s a completely different
drink made from kelp. This kombucha is a fermented
tea made by adding bacteria cultures and sugar to black tea. It’s packed with enzymes, probiotics, lactic acid bacteria, amino acids, and polyphenols, making it great for beauty and overall health. It’s said to be especially effective
when paired with high-fat foods, so it might be worth
trying with a rich meal! I found something interesting—an unscented deodorant mist! It’s small and portable,
making it easy to carry around. There weren’t too many options,
but in Japan, there are times when you have to take off your shoes,
like at ozashiki seating in restaurants. why products like this
have become more common. One of Japan’s most well-known medical products—Roihi Tsuboko! You might have heard of this before. Roihi Tsuboko is a medicated patch that helps with shoulder stiffness,
lower back pain, bruises, sprains, joint pain, muscle aches, fatigue, and even frostbite. The patches are small, easy to use, and blend in with the skin,
making them less noticeable. They work by promoting blood circulation,
which helps relieve pain in areas like the shoulders,
lower back, and joints. Since they’re designed to be applied
to pressure points, they provide targeted relief, making them great for desk workers or post-workout recovery. The effects last for a long time, so they’re especially useful
for those dealing with chronic pain. This is one of those must-have items, and I personally recommend it! From the cosmetics section, here’s a Don Quijote staple—Heroine Mascara! Compared to other brands, they have an overwhelming
number of products here. I even noticed a super cute
merry-go-round style display. This is actually my go-to mascara, and I’ve been using it for a long time. They have different types, including lengthening and curling formulas. Heroine Mascara is known for its ultra-durable waterproof formula,
making it resistant to sweat, tears, and sebum. It stays put all day without smudging, so you don’t have
to worry about raccoon eyes. The curl-holding power is also amazing. There are plenty of options, too. The Long & Curl version contains fibers that extend your lashes, while the Volume & Curl version
thickens each lash for a more dramatic look. I love that you can choose the perfect one depending on the effect you want. Now, onto facial cleansers! Let me share one of my personal favorites—Perfect Whip. The classic version
comes in blue packaging, but this time, I found a gray one. This is the premium version, designed to take care of dead skin, acne, and dullness all at once. It’s affordable and can be found in almost any drugstore. Since it’s gentle on the skin, even those prone to breakouts
can use it without worry. If you’re looking for an effective
and budget-friendly cleanser, this one is definitely worth trying! Now for Rohto eye drops! There are several types, but I found two being sold here. The one in the blue packaging
is the cooling type, while the pink, sparkly one is designed to
prevent makeup from smudging. It also dispenses precise, small drops. The pretty pink color actually comes from added nutrients. It has a refreshing feel
when applied, a light rose scent, and a compact size that fits easily in a pouch, which I really like. It looks like it’s super popular
since they’ve restocked it a lot! Next up, sunscreen! When it comes to Japanese souvenirs, sunscreen is a must, right? This time, instead of the usual Biore sunscreen I always recommend, I found a special One Piece collaboration! At MEGA Donki Shibuya, I spotted Luffy and Zoro designs, but it looks like there’s
also a Chopper version out there. Finally, I headed up to the fourth floor
to check out the anime section. Just like the snack section, this floor seems to be really popular. There are anime T-shirts, pajamas, and so much more! The huge variety
makes it fun to browse through. I even spotted Luffy’s straw hat for sale. And of course, there’s
a great selection of Sanrio character goods too! The most eye-catching section here has to be the character socks! The display is super colorful
and really stands out. There are socks featuring Dragon Ball, Pokémon, Kuromi, Hello Kitty, and other Sanrio characters. Each Pokémon even has its own design, from Pikachu to Eevee. Personally, I really like the Hello Kitty designs. They’re cute and make for a fun souvenir! Thanks for watching! Hope you had fun

Can you please explore Sunshine City in Ikebukuro?
Is all the ichiran tonkotsu based? or do they have different flavors like chicken or shoyu?
