Our Favorite Christmas Markets In Berlin, Germany (2024)
here we have a Christmas Market set up it’s early in the morning right now so you’re not really going to see anybody there’s no one set up yet but this is kind of what it looks like it’s pretty cool so this place will be like popping crazy crowded in the evening or at least when it opens but you can see what it’s like when there’s no one around there’s some good advertisements yeah look bombs [Music] jel what’s this [Music] goulash fles oh I wonder if this is the I know they have some Christmas markets that have themes like Viking ones and they have one that’s like Slavic mhm or like this look like an Indian Hindu temple but probably just Memorial and a lot of these Christmas markets are set up like in front of like City Halls or you know the bigger ones are set up like right in front of government buildings and stuff okay Christmas markets are sort of of a thing in Europe and Germany leads the way just about every Christmas Market starts operating at the end of November through New Year’s there are over 80 Christmas markets spread out throughout Berlin but obviously we couldn’t hit them all so we’ll be showing you in this video the ones that we did visit [Music] first on the list was the winter World on pots dmer plots located right at the pot dmer plots ubon station this one was fairly small and less extravagant than some of the other markets we visited but still worth the stop [Music] most of the markets operate from 11 till 10 during the week on weekends they close an hour or two later but still open at the same [Music] time a handful of markets one of which is gender Market carry an entrance fee but for the most part they’re they’re all free to [Music] experience okay start over yeah this is Cy store cash only they don’t accept cards so you need to have a cash this is candy at nuts the B flavor the liquor can you taste the baes yeah tast like alcohol sweet alcohol covered nuts can you taste a nut or is it pretty strong that Bailey’s Bailey’s overpowered than nuts oh it does it’s almond oh it’s almond yeah it’s almond but it’s covered with the baes and tast kind of like sweet alcohol wait no pick one up and then let me get you I also got the caramel all together was € yeah it was a I think that was like six something for 100 grams and this is was like I think cheaper like together was what was 12 year old 11 year olds all together caramel this chocolate they chocolate good good all right okay let’s go mushrooms musroom I I thought I was just getting a bucket of mushrooms mm but they put in like french fries uh mushrooms and then garlic sauce and uh and it’s inside of like a like a like a almost like a Taco Cabana Bowl yeah Cabana caban B and it was like €1 for this mhm M oh those mushrooms are good I mean it has like the perfect mushroom taste and then this sauce is like really really like sweet garlicky I kind of like the mushrooms plain mhm you want to try yeah mushroom this garlic sauce which wrong was it hot yeah it’s hot it’s almost like boiled mushrooms french fries the kind of like the rigid or whatever they [Music] called french is a little bit stale they might sit in there but mushroom is good it’s like one of the European traditional food from traditional European look lady it’s kind of like it’s a lot of food though it’s something almost like a whole meal yeah but in the same time it’s mostly like mushroom yeah Chistmas love we even came across a random but small Christmas Market in an old quarter just below the St Nicholas church [Music] spee [Music] [Music] Merry Christmas I love you [Music] by far the largest market we visited was at Alexander plats Not only was it large but it was also the most vibrant and boasted a wide variety of activities from a giant Ferris wheel to an ice skating rink but with that also came the crowds we prefer a more chilled atmosphere so this one was a bit too much for us us [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] donut go to Europe [Music] nice sweet crispy I would say it’s less sweet than us Donuts you know glaz Donuts because it’s not glaz it’s just sugar powder and it’s fried a little bit deeper than us is it like doughy or is it like cakey or is it like a dut it’s like a dough it’s like a dough donut not a cake donut is it sweet yeah sweet but not as sweet like you Donuts okay [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] we’re going to charlottenberg Palace um they have a Christmas Market that they set up over there and it’s like supposed to be one of the best ones to visit especially at night because they have a lot of lights so we’re going to check that out tonight okay yeah just a short 15 minutes walk from the yuban uh station it’s the station called charlott palace and this is the market right here we just going straight up the street and we’re going to go there because it’s supposed to be big have a lot of full lights and a lot of full venders let’s go all right [Music] the Christmas Market at charlottenburg Palace is the one you definitely want to visit when it’s dark the lighting displays along with the palace as a backdrop is a sight to behold the overall Ambiance is chill and relaxed it is a little bit outside of the center of Berlin but definitely worth the visit [Music] glute Vine This is the K strawberry glute Vine yeah strawberry glute Vine it’s kir GL glue fine mhm smells strong smell like whiskey or vodka huh smell like Vis it does but it tastes just like regular wine it’s not like a i it’s it’s really sweet so it’s like you can’t really you don’t really huh what don’t get the clothes because it’s cutting you you don’t really uh taste the alcohol like it’s not real strong mhm it’s super hot like tea like hot tea so it’s good it’s not bad I this this stuff will give you a pretty good hangover I think it’s pretty strong though yeah and uh also here you can go upstairs yeah we’re up on the rooftop there’s the stairs go down go up see the palace Palace right here and the um market right here okay than you so uh this Market it’s like really nice it’s not as many people but I did notice that it’s it’s quite a bit smaller than the Alexander plots Christmas Market it’s not nearly as big um and I think the selection is probably a little bit less there’s not quite as much of a selection as far as food goes but it’s pretty nice one to go to this is a lot further outside of town too compared to the other place so anyways yeah just wanted to bring that up this is the charlottenburg Christmas Market [Music] this is the uh chili chili sausage with ketchup it’s uh €7 tastes like a sausage is it spicy no not really I think their definition of spicy here is different from we from ours but it’s good I’m I’m hungry it’s it’s typical sausage tastes exactly like the sausages back home to in my opinion that’s here’s my G G glute wine I can see myself so I already tried and this one is a little bit better than glute wine this is glute jein so this is kind of like uh orange Rosemary type of flavor and it doesn’t have that weird strong alcohol smell so I would buy this one instead of the glute line gluten is [Music] better gender menmark was the one market we visited with an entrance fee of €2 per person the market itself was no different than any others in regards to food and shopping stalls but what was unique was the entertainment a stage which shows as well as cosplay characters roaming the market [Music] de [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] he you can even get Ramen at the Christmas Market in Berlin yeah in Japanese beer if you want it’s the baby in the [Music] mang this is a chocolate cover oh not strawberry chocolate covered banana it was a four50 don’t stab yourself what’s your opinion I like it yeah banana probably the best one the best option I would say no the I like bananas this banana is not like it’s it’s it’s almost m not mature but it’s like sweet and the chocolate adds The Taste to it is I like it we just finished checking out the gendon market and now we’re going to another one that’s like literally like I don’t know 100 m away yeah you can see it right there yeah so these markets are literally one after the other it’s crazy it’s cool but we’re going to head over there now [Music] we’re back at the Christmas Market at humbo Forum where we had passed through earlier this morning before it was open it’s evening now and as you can see it’s quite [Music] busy this was olena’s favorite Market as it was probably the most chill and least crowded and had more of a global cultural representation in its stalls like we’re inside this Square yeah it’s also called humbled humbled Forum so this is side of the courtyard and I think this is also a museum of the Asian arts or something like this yeah and that night it’s the night like Market yeah it’s pretty cool we’re inside like a courtyard yeah so far I like this one the most [Music] yeah there’s also glute wine they also have the coffee I think it’s like Vienna coffee with alcohol or like you know Irish coffee so yeah let’s walk [Music] around try this this is the uh fradel I think it’s like in Indonesian they also have this it’s like I think it originates like the Indonesian one it originates from here it’s called perel it’s a potato like potato mixed with some meat meat yeah meat and they can be small they can be bigger steaming steaming H it’s steaming hot yeah yeah it’s kind of like a giant crocodile like what I’m used to Giant meat Bowl yep minced meat with potatoes it’s a 6 no 6 good it’s cool because this particular uh Market it’s like International they have like food from all kinds of different places in the world Indian food Himalayan Hungarian there is yeah like a a Japanese Japanese Chinese yeah Chinese oh you Hungarian yeah Hungarian so it’s pretty cool and that’s that bread is like Romanian right or no that’s Hungarian Hungarian never mind yeah it just it just kind of like the European but cool because you can get a a pretty good mix of different kinds of food here this this place probably has the the most variety of food yeah it’s free entrance you know like not it’s a lot of space a lot of styles a lot of like souvenirs so yeah so far this one is the number one on a humbled Forum the marketplace on a humbled forum [Music] yeah this is mushrooms from The Humble for right next to the entrance and I already tried one this one definitely have more flavor you know they have like an orb garlic rosemary and something like parsley flavor pretty good I would say this one is better than an um Square how pot D plots on the pot D plot the mushroom alone is just €7 with the french fries and like you know the bread bowl and other tives like you know the potato Veges can go up to like $101 $12 $2 yep all right we got the langos oh we got the langos with the mozzarella and tomato uh I think it’s like a fried dough and pizza style pizza style fried dough but it’s originated from Hungary making it right here oh no that’s I didn’t think it’s ours yeah and uh it was a eight 8 no no N9 9 for ours so we’ll see how it is I guess yeah probably would have been better get the shreddy cheese yeah there’s no way to with sour cream okay it’s like steaming hot and Super Fresh any thoughts bread is fresh and it’s I haven’t gotten into the main part cuz it’s hot but the bread tastes just like yeah it’s just a fried piece of dough kind of like donut imagine a donut with with no icing on it mhm good hard to describe here I’ll film you let’s [Music] go steak on a bun steak on a bun bun made from the grandma recipe that’s what they German name it’s just called steak € it’s like the leaner cut of meat not not a lot of fat it’s a it has a lot of pepper on it pepper pepper flavor it’s good it’s not like too dry it’s just right not [Music] bad as always if you enjoyed this video and found it to be helpful hit that like button down below and please consider subscribing to our Channel stay
