I'm currently planning my Albania trip for this July, and I'm confused on how to take the buses from Tirana to Himarë and back. I know there's a few posts on Reddit and a few other forums out there with small bits of info, but I was hoping that someone who lives there or has been there quite recently could help me clarify.
On travel.gjirafa.com , I'm seeing buses between these two cities, but I've read in other forums that this website isn't reliable in their timings. I also see albaniabus.com with their own schedule. Ideally, I want an early morning bus from both cities. My main questions:
- Does anyone recommend I just purchase my tickets on this site, print it out, and show it to the driver on the day of?
- Or should I just show up at a bus station on the day of and buy a ticket on the bus?
- If so, where exactly are the bus stops in Tirana and Himarë?
- What are my chances of missing a bus in high season without a pre-purchased ticket?
I'm backpacking solo (if that matters). Any other advice or tips are greatly appreciated!!!
