Surviving BLIZZARD 4 Days STRANDED in Extreme Arctic Town. HEAVY SNOWSTORM Winter Van Life Camping
got some really heavy snowfall now. A lot of snow on the forecast over the coming days All right? out driving again after several days staying in the same area of Sennalandet and Alta, and now I’m heading north again. Gonna go to Havøysund because winter is arriving out by the ocean, and that is spectacular Havøysund is a very remote fishing village It’s kind of similar to the North Cape, but it’s out on a different road, basically a little bit further to the west. So this should be a fun drive This is quite difficult. There’s a lot of snow in the road, actually. And it’s coming down quite heavily. lot of snow tracking here, and we got a long ways to go up this mountain. And it’s getting really dark OK, another climb here. This should be the last one if I can get up it’s quite steep. Into the abyss we go. Look at this. It’s just a black hole in front of us here. The Arctic Ocean. Pretty heavy wind coming in from the north looks like Nearly in Havøysund. And it definitely looks like the smart thing to do is to find a shelter place down in the village to camp It looks like it’s gonna be super harsh tonight and tomorrow with Blizzard, as usual, but look at this. We should have been able to see Havøysund in front of us here on the other side of a little fjord. but… there’s a whiteout. So not seeing much. Maybe a few lights on the other side. It’s visible now. Well, no point in looking for a view in this weather This is Havøysund I’m gonna go to the emptying station here and see if I can empty my toilet Here goes the ferry to somewhere Turned into a winter wonderland out here as well Really awesome. Well, it stopped snowing for a little while. It’s back and forth now. This would’ve been an awesome spot, but there’s a storm coming in and this is way too exposed so definitely not gonna stay up here by the December cemetery in Havøysund so gonna turn around and head down into the center of town Yeah, so the storm is gonna come straight from out there That’s gonna be extremely uncomfortable and from now it looks like 24 m a second winds, which is a storm and it usually gets stronger than on the forecast. So down into the center of town we go This is so steep. Don’t want to slashide into a private home here. So I’m right in the heart of the little village of Havøysund on the northern tip of Norway, Arctic Norway, and we’rere stuck out here because there’s going to be a snowstorm for three days or something like that, and the roads are closed. So here we are again, stuck in the Arctic. Gonna just stay up here and ride it out Found a comfortable parking right next to a store here. and there’s a lot of vans stored here, I think, from the locals, they have RVs, or motor homes stored here in this parking lot. So we’re staying here, close to the ocean, but kind of sheltered from the storm I think it’s going to be very comfortable here, and it’s going to be pretty spectacular. I love to see the sights out here, but that’s not going to happen. my new friends from Adventure Vanlife parked right next to me. They’re gonna be joining me out here for a couple of more days and it’s’s snowing like crazy. I think we’re getting the main force of the snow for the winter coming down over the coming week now. It is February 13. or 14th haven’t checked the calendar yet and it’s a lot of snow. Second cup of coffee for today around 10 or 9 ish. And I’m just doing some work And for that I need plenty of coffee. Gotta love this weather Cheers, my friends the most important meal of today It’s good to have a store right next to me here when I’m stuck out here Well, weather is getting pretty harsh here right now so I’m just gonna head down into the harbor and do a little bit of sightseeing. So more search and rescue boats It’s a pretty harsh place today, but not worst place to be stuck for a few days. It’s got all the stuff I need out here. so it’s a good place. It’s fun to be this far north. Last summer, I camped up here by the windmills I think you can still drive up there, but it’s not gonna be good with a heavy van. It’s a steep steep hill to get up And with these storms going on up there, I think we just stay away from that place now Look at the beautiful color of the water you can actually see that through the gloominess Look at the seal ha ha I thought it was dead for us, but it’s playing wherever it went That hill up there is turning completely white now. It’s gonna be a complete wide out up there pretty soon. I think it’s coming in this way as well. Ha ha. Look up here. Oh, this hurts in the face. Oh, that. Well, Canadians circle K everywhere so the story about that is all the stat oil gas stations that we had in Norway that was kind of owned by our major state-owned oil company. They were bought by Circle X And I guess Circle X is a Canadian company. Oh this is this is hurting my face. Kids playing Back inside, getting some breakfast Somebody’s having problems with their little bikes. It’s really taking off now. Didn’t expect that. This weather is picking up. It’s kind of back and forth a lot. Comes in gusts, basically, but the roads are closed. and better just… hunker down and enjoy it. It’s a safe and beautiful place to be Trapped, basically, so not complaining. This is like watching a movie Like the latest season of True Detective Just the weather here is more fierce Okay. Well, it’s the third day here and roads are still closed so we’re stuck, but it’s not uncomfortable in any way. It’s just started snowing a lot. So today I’m gonna move and find a better place That is a little less shelter because the wind has come down quite a lot I think I can go up on a mountain, which is what I really want to and camp there, get some views through the all this snow that’s coming down. There’s a lot of snow on the forecast, so it gets really thick, but And see if I can find a way And if the road opens, I’m going to try to leave here tomorrow and get to some other cool places Before the next Round of weather comes This is also considered weather, but it’s just a lot of heavy snowfall I think that uh Can be managed from anywhere as long as you’re close to somewhere where you can get out on a plowed road Let’s see what we’re doing. Need to change my propane bottle first, I think. It’s not quite empty, but tomorrow is Sunday and there’s no way of changing then. So I think I’m gonna do that today. All right, so I’m going to check out this road under the bridge and see if there’s a back road up into the cemetery. just to have a couple of options, basically. Pretty cool out here. The Arctic Ocean. basically gonna check out if this back road is a better way to come down off the cemetery parking lot so you’re just gonna walk up and have a good look. Yeah, this is great. This road is completely safe to come down off. In an emergency, you can steer into the ditch here, sir. That’s what I’ll do. I’ll come up here in the park. It’s got much more wild feeling to it. and down. down in the central town. So far, so good. And we’re up. All the landscape around me is disappearing. Looks like it’s gonna be a very snowy next 48 hours, actually So this is what we got on the sunroof. It’s gonna fill up. It’s a good amount of snow coming down, which is cool. I have this idea for dinner. Something I haven’t made in a long while. And for that, I’m going to need to make my chili mayo which is something I learned from my sister. First I need a new trash bag in my little trash bin here. So I don’t have a lot of storage for trash, so this tiny bin here fills up quite fast, which is okay, so I don’t’t travel around with a lot of trash, really. Let’s go with the… With the chili mayo. I use shriacha and basically any mayo. This is like light mayo, so what’s calories. So the weather forecast is changing a little bit. It’s going to get more windy again. But I think I’ll be fine here. I’m parked into the wind now. It’s kind of one of these things up in the Arctic that you cannot really plan because the weather forecast will do weird stuff but as you get closer, it’ll get more and more accurate. So on the day of the weather, it’s usually very accurate with the app that I’m using. It’s a Norwegian weather app called YR, or YR.no NO or the app is called YR. It’s YR. You can use it anywhere in the world. I use it in the United States at world and it works perfectly That gets very like detailed and Very accurate as you get close to the weather. So time for the chili sauce to shirracha. So we’re gonna make this a little bit strong. I think. And then just mix it in there. That’s a pretty, pretty good batch here. That’s some good stuff. It’s a good balance. Yeah. Cheers, my friends. I’m gonna get straight to dinner and I’m gonna make my kind of I don’t know what I’ll call it. It’s like My Tortilla burger My tortilla burger fantasy Something like that It includes A lot of different stuff, like French fries, burgers, tortillas, and Stuff like this, jalapeno, salads, and Chili mayo, of course So let’s get to it Let’s get a little bit of french fries first Don’t need much of that. Just a little bit. Salt I’m only going to need one burger for this, I think Split it in half before cooking. All right. It’s time to try this. One. two. three. And then it goes on here for a little bit. So, one, two, three. I’m here for a little bit. So, would you look at that? That looks like a lot of fun All right. Let’s try out this beautiful stuff here. Absolutely perfect. Exactly how it needed it to be. Mmm. The chili mayo really has a bite to it Look at a lovely landscape outside here. Cheers, my friends. It’s only 4 o’clock, or nearly 4 o’clock. So it’s getting dark now, and there’s gonna be a lot of snow coming in. It is also Saturday night And Saturday night is blizzard night
Trapped for 4 Days in a Savage Arctic BLIZZARD 🌨️ | Solo Van Life in a Remote Frozen Village
When the roads vanished under mountains of snow, I was left completely stranded on the island—just me, my van, the whole village lol, and wild snowstorms ❄️🚐
Over 1.4 MILLION views now!
I got caught in a massive BLIZZARD while exploring a remote Arctic island town—4 days completely snowed in after relentless snowstorms and heavy snowfall cut off all road access to this isolated Nordic fishing village perched between the ocean and the mountains.
This isn’t Extreme American Montana or Canadian cold… this is full-force Arctic winter, and blizzards hit differently here. Think snownado: swirling walls of snow tearing across the Arctic Ocean, fierce winds, and total whiteout conditions that send shivers down your spine. It’s wild, raw, and hauntingly beautiful.
🏔️ I camped in the middle of it all—below the mountaintop, tucked into the village near tiny cabins, boats and shops and even spent a few nights at a cemetery with one of the best views of the village below. It’s cozy winter van life, but in one of the world’s most unforgiving environments.
🚐 I put my rig to the test—solo RV camping in winter, battling the cold, checking for leaks in prep for spring and summer rainstorms, and cooking comfort food like my van chef Tortilla Hamburger Fantasy (don’t knock it till you try it!).
👀 If you’re wondering—yes, it’s a safe place to camp solo for female travelers. Out here, no one bothers you. The people are kind, and the solitude is next level, even in the middle of town.
Grab a blanket, hit play, and ride out this Arctic storm with me—van life in the harshest winters, off-grid survival style.
BLIZZARD had me Stranded 4 Days in Remote Arctic Island Town. We got trapped in Heavy SNOWSTORM blocking all road access to this tiny little fishing village below a mountain top of cabins and houses after massive snow storms, blizzard and heavy snowfall blocked the roads. Knowing How to stay warm is so important! Cozy Winter Spring Van Life Solo RV Camping in the worlds harshest little Nordic fishing village I would call this. The Blizzard hits differently here, this is not Montana, so it is not as freezing cold, but the arctic is much more fierce and gives you real blizzards and snowstorms, almost tornado like in appearance as they come charging in across the arctic ocean with a wall of snow that sends shivers down you spine. A proper Snownado! This storm was another test for staying warm in my van in winter, and also to see if the van will leak when I go camping in Heavy rain storms in spring and summer. Despite the weather, this area of the world is safe to camp in for solo female travelers, nobody will bother or harass you as a single female. I make my coffee, cook a van chef Tortilla hamburger fantasy creation and wait for plow truck to get my camper out of town, I spend a few nights at a cemetery with a good view of the fishing village as well plotting my escape. This are is close to where I found myself testing the limits of my camper van in heavy and torrential rain storms with massive thunder and lightning last summer. Sometimes I wonder if a Truck Camper would be cool so I could get up some of these cool roads to the outlook and fire towers. Would be cool to be stranded by one of those towers. For my American, UK and Canadian friends!

Eres muy valiente!!!
i can just, spend hours just staring at the abyss.! I swear to God.
woooow
Want to drive like u bro
How do you sleep at night regarding heat? Do you keep your vehicle going or use some other source of heat? Really love your videos I saw another one for yours that had a lot of stormy sea pics and my lord they were the most realistic video I have ever seen of the sea like that. It was the one you drove to a town and stayed overnight away from the too exposed end and you made a bacon cheese with jalepenos sandwjich!
So Sir Your"e Van Starting all time ?
Why Not Fishing ?
Greetings from Scotland. Just joined you for the first time. So pleased to have found you and look forward to watching your videos. Great drone work, I know how much time and effort that takes but it is so worth it.
I love old fishing villages and the marina with all of the fishing boats.
Nice exploration. Question: why are all of the exterior lights: headlamps and taillights; on as you sit facing a cemetery; do they have to stay on to have interior lights? At the end, you are definitely in blizzard conditions. However, seeing the rate of that snowfall, I am shocked that it is not accumulating; your vehicle is not buried, thankfully.😁
amazing vid, what month was this taken Sir ?
I love it😮😊Thank you 🎉
Love it! That's my idea of paradise.
For the first time watching & like this ,my soul is wandering in , don't have words to explain ❤
Stark. Beautiful. Savage. Unforgiving. Incredible. Cold, wet and windy! Thanks for sharing. Enjoy a sub! Cheers!
Is there a tour company that goes where you are traveling in winter? I would love to travel where you go but could never drive it.
WOW, How absolutley awesome, and beautiful. I just happened upon your video, and sure glad that I did. It's a good Saturday night here in Tucson Arizona. Thank you for the time. Safe travels.
Incredible footage, I'd love to see this
I love your videos. If I had a camper, and was stuck in a blizzard, I'd sleep like a baby. I subscribed to your channel.
Wind country
The way you explained this is SO clear. Thank you
That trifold sandwich was genius, I can’t wait to try it!
2:24 an awesome vehicle for 1 person to live in, but is it a Diesel Front Wheel Drive? 😮😮
fantastic .The natural sound of nature is awesome
Gracias por compartir paisajes tan bellos e impresionantes; realmente la fuerza de la naturaleza es inmensa.
Do you leave the camper running all night? Never seen that. Thanks for the tortilla trick.
You are not so good at stealth camping ,a white van is better.
watching from Manila Philippines mabuhay
I'm sitting in my mountain home in the mountains of Northern California, and tomorrow the forecast is a Heat Advisory warning of 35C! It is a pleasure watching this video! I first visited Norway in March 2022 and spent 3 beautiful weeks enjoying a snow blizzard than sunshine. That trip convinced me. I left my heart in Tromsø. I have been back two more times but in August thru October and though it was unseasonably warm for that far north, 28C I was amazed by the lush green and colorful flora. However, I prefer the Winter months. I hope to back again in 2026. Thanks for sharing.
