Today, we leave the city behind and head into the rolling countryside. 🍇🚗 We’re starting early, meeting fellow travelers, and driving through peaceful vineyards and medieval villages. You’ll see cobblestone streets, wine cellars, and breathtaking views 🍷🏰🌿 I joined a small group tour to explore the stunning wine region of Saint-Émilion, just outside Bordeaux. Are you familiar with any of these wine? How are they??? Today’s journey is a little different… Instead of just walking solo, I have a fantastic tour guide! You’ll notice bits and pieces of dialogue from our guide throughout the day — just enough to give you a feel for the experience. Cloudy skies and a bit of rain to start… but later, sunshine at the winery! 🌧️⛅🍷 Spotted so many wine châteaux along the way… 🍷🏰🌿 Château Figeac—one of the most prestigious Premier Grand Cru estates in Saint‑Émilion. 🍇🏰 Now entering the charming village of Saint-Émilion… cobblestones, quiet streets, and so much history. 🏰🚶‍♀️✨ Clos Fourtet — a Premier Grand Cru Classé in Saint‑Émilion. 🍇🏰 The old fortified walls still stand here. 🏰 Château Canon is owned by the Wertheimer family, who also control the CHANNEL Group. 👛💄 👗👠 That’s Château Canon — a prestigious Premier Grand Cru Classé winery Did you know this village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site? Château Pavie — a top Premier Grand Cru Classé estate, known for its bold and elegant wines. 🍷🏰 Premier Grand Cru Classé A, the top tier. September. This stage is called veraison — when grapes turn from green to deep purple. 🍇✨ The harvest is getting close! Château Ausone — a Premier Grand Cru Classé A estate, one of the top four in Saint‑Émilion. They left the classification in 2021 to focus on tradition, terroir, and pure quality. Village of Saint-Émilion is a peaceful, historic gem surrounded by vineyards. 🏰 Saint-Émilion is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its medieval charm and ancient vineyards. 🍷 Vineyards here date back to Roman times—over 1,800 years of winemaking tradition! Canelé. Specific to the Bordeaux region I am going to eat this later on the video! Porte de la Cadène — once guarded by a heavy iron chain to keep enemies out! Check out Europe’s largest monolithic church, carved right out of the limestone rock. Château for sale at 368 million Euros Just picked up a fresh canelé.
