After 6 years of backpacking, you shared as I explored UN country list #101 in 2019! For the first time, I live vlogged in high quality – 720p and with a gimbal – from 94 to 101, or UK to UAE.

Now let’s evoke 1 to 101, with a new series in 2020 and 2021 called “101 UN Countries from A to Z.” Explore BOTH those secret countries you’ve never even heard of AND those normally glossy Instagram destinations unfiltered, as I share my previous adventure travels. These mind-blowing places are fucking entertaining as they are, in their raw, real, and authentic forms. But if you still somehow want perfectly manicured and curated “highlight reel” content, go fuck with someone else.

Many countries, even developing ones, you can explore completely own your own or solo backpack, using local public transportation such as buses and trains and local infrastructure such as hostels and guesthouses. The continents of Africa and South America, though, are much harder to solo backpack, because the local public transportation and infrastructure can be unreliable, expensive, or both. Although I’ve solo backpacked many developing countries, even some in Africa and South America, I also pay to participate in tours when tours make more strategic and financial sense.

Despite what you may read, hear, or see about tours, the industry is so specialized that you’ll find a tour to suit your priorities, wants, and needs. The best tour aggregator and selection tool, with also the best prices is

For 2018, my first priority was having the most authentic and immersive experience possible with Africa’s wild animals and landscapes or “bush camping.” My second priority was exploring as many countries as possible. My third priority was to do this all on a budget. I used to purchase tours optimized to these exact priorities. In other words, was one of the secret tools that helped me film all these WILD animal encounters!
