It feels good to be back. Like everyone is the Tourism Industry I’ve had to put most things on hold for the last few months. Postponing trips and client work with some being rescheduled and others put off indefinitely. It’s been tough but the industry seems to be slowly starting to recover. This assignment is more or less about that. The rebuild.
G Adventures is once again leading the charge with new initiatives to inspire Travelling with Confidence worldwide. The Canadian independent small groups tour operator is one I know well and many of you who know the story of this channel… you know why. So when the production team in Toronto reached out asking me to help capture video & photo content of their new Travel with Confidence initiatives I obviously agreed. Enter Trekking Mt Blanc.
This is one of the most popular departures in Europe and a tour I knew but had never experienced. I’ve been to Chamonix once but in the winter for skiing. My assignment for this summer hiking tour; capture as much footage as possible of the new norms in travel. Find ways to positively express masks, social distancing, restaurant etiquette, transportation, etc. The team in Toronto provided a detailed shot list and gave me creative freedom to capture the scenes as best I could while on tour around Mt Blanc.
