Perfect Day Trip from Paris: Château de Chantilly Castle Tour & Romantic French Hotel Stay

We’re on the RER D train right now going up to Shanti. And we learned today that this is the much cheaper option if you want to do things last minute like we are doing them. Uh it costs €2.50 each person to get a an all zones metro ticket. That recently changed. It used to be more expensive for uh zones that were further out, but now all the zones are the same price. And that kept us from having to buy two separate tickets. One for the train from Gard and then we were able to just take three different rears which was slightly annoying but uh from where we were staying we had to switch a couple of times but if you’re closer in inside Paris maybe you’ll be able to have less changes. Uh but in total it’s taking us about an hour and 20 minutes to get out to Shanti which is great. In the summer, it’s probably really pretty in the summer, but it’s cheap cuz there’s no leaves now. Should I say that it’s a 20 minute walk? TV. From our hotel, we can take just a little path. It’s about a 5-minute walk to the Never. Perfect.

We took a day trip from Paris to Château de Chantilly and it was such a nice getaway! If you’re looking for a romantic escape or want to explore a beautiful French castle, this place is really worth the visit.
We stayed at the Auberge du Jeu de Paume hotel which was lovely, and they included our castle tickets which was convenient. The location is perfect, it’s literally right next to the castle with just a 5 minute walk to the entrance. The hotel is a 5-star Relais & Châteaux property and gets its name from the historic Jeu de Paume (tennis court) that was built in the 18th century by Louis-Joseph, Prince of Condé. The château itself is beautiful with the Musée Condé inside, which has the second largest collection of antique paintings in France after the Louvre. The gardens are really pretty and Les Grandes Écuries (the Great Stables) were impressive.
We also ate at the hotel’s restaurant, La Table du Connétable, which was one of the most romantic spots we’ve been to. This gourmet restaurant offers a view of the beautiful lawns and gardens of the Château de Chantilly, and it’s actually listed in the MICHELIN Guide. We didn’t include it in the video because we wanted to enjoy our dinner without taking videos, but we definitely recommend it!
Getting there is pretty easy, just about an hour from Paris by train or car. If you stay at the Auberge du Jeu de Paume like we did, you get the entrance tickets included which is a nice bonus. The whole experience was a good mix of history, beautiful scenery, and French charm.
