FRANCE’S MOST MAGICAL LAVENDER FIELDS REVEALED

[Music] I watch you as you drive. Do you know I’m looking and I can’t help but smile. Do you know how much I love you? You put my favorite song on. I put my feet up and we just sing along. And I can’t help but feeling just loving this moment. Can we stay here forever? I’m loving this moment. Can we stay here together? If I could stop the time, don’t you know that I would? Cuz I’m justing [Music] We have more trogodite homes up there. You can see them up there on the hill. Well, what a lovely town this has been. Thank you for coming with us to Quotinak. And here we are just on our way to Valanso where we’re looking for lavender. And we pass this wild field of lavender. Look how beautiful. Oh my gosh, it smells heavenly out here. And of course, where there’s lavender, there are lots of bees. I doubt you’ll be able to hear them in the video, but that’s all I hear out here. Silence and the hum of bees doing their work. So beautiful. Hey guys, hot day out there. Hey boys. All right, keep it up. You’re doing a good job. [Music] [Music] The hills are high. With the sound of music, my heart is alive. With the thought of you. So for those of you that have always thought about coming to the lavender fields in Provence, this is what they look like close up. And it is just gorgeous. So, this is your typical lavender field. And what you’ll notice is the rows between the lavenders are basically like stone or pebbles. And here in this field, the lavender is, as far as you can see, gently swaying in the wind. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] We are now just entering the town of Valen Soul. Valen Soul is known to have the most beautiful lavender in France and most beautiful lavender here in Provence. So you’ve you’ve already seen some examples of the fields we saw just on the way to Valen Soul. Now we’ll check out Valenol itself. As you can see, coming to the lavender fields is quite popular here. Look at all of the people. [Music] Sunflowers are [Music] on the left. You’ll see thousands of sunflowers plants. The sunflower have not bloomed. The last time we were here, it was in the middle of July and they were all in full bloom and it was quite something to see all of the sunflowers in bloom next to the lavender fields. So, here you’ll see thousands and thousands of sunflower plants. not in bloom yet. However, here is the lavender. Absolutely beautiful lavender. So, here is Ann out walking in her field of lavender. You’ve made it. All of this travel, two trains, an overnight So, walk towards me with that movie star walk. There we go. Walk towards me. [Music] You’re in a field of lavender. Loving it. All right, baby. Oo, nice little lookie see there. [Music] Here’s something a little extra for a bonus reel there. It’s quite breathtaking. [Music] [Music] So, it’s our lavender ice cream break. And even Bella, she doesn’t want to look up. She’s too busy too busy eating her ice cream. What a gorgeous view. [Music] And here you are. Here we are. You have to come to Valon soul and see it just once. Let’s go back. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Christmas. [Music] [Music] These are products from olives. Show us. [Music] [Music] These are from almond oil. [Music] [Music] Cool. [Music] Now we have lavender syrup, creme dear, which is chestnuts. [Music] and poperri. Oh no, not poperri. These are teas from the flowers of provenance. [Music] These are the almonds of Provence. Let’s say you have that special friend that’s sort of a nut and you’re thinking, “What can I get them for Christmas?” Oh, look. For €210, I can get them a big bag of almonds from woods. Sweet. [Music] Pleasure. Holidays. [Music] choice. [Music] So those yellow packages aprons like this. [Music] And here we have kof cheras. This one is strawberry mint. This is clementine and looks like gingerbread. Clementine and gingerbread. Interesting. Raspberry. Those [Music] are little hand towels, t-shirts. It’s a perfect perfect little gift for the little child in your life. And at the end of a wonderful weekend, it’s time to head home. Here’s our ride. We’ll be seeing you in the next video. Bye for now. Bye for now. Bye for now. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Down. Do [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Uh-oh. [Music] Oh no. Oh no. [Music] Just loving this moment. Can we stay here forever? I’m loving this moment. Can we stay here together? If I could stop the time, don’t you know that I would? Cuz I’m just loving this moment. Can we stay here forever? Forever. Hi! We are An and Jeff Scott, two happily retired septuagenarians from the USA, who had a dream. That dream was to retire in France. So, we sold most of our “stuff”, packed and shipped the rest, and with our bossy little Yorkie, Bella, said “goodbye” to the USA. In 2024, we moved from the sunny coast of southwest Florida to the sunny coast of the south of France, to enjoy our “golden years” and embrace the “joie de vivre” available to us, here in beautiful Nice, France.

Moving from the USA to a foreign country was no small “project”. Through our videos, we’ve been taking you through the Long Stay Visa process, the packing, the purging, the moving, searching for an apartment, creating a great Dossier, learning the way things are done administratively in France, and sharing the steps, talking about what we’ve learned and the ups and the downs.

And now, we continue to share our life, our new life, here in Nice, getting settled, adjusting to the “French” way of doing things, dealing with the French “red tape”, reveling in the beauty of the world around us…and all the while, making every wonderful day in Nice, the best day ever…
