CANNES France – The Quaint French Town Most Tourists Miss

Oh, good morning. We are on day two of our cruise. If you call yesterday, day one, which was very short, because we left uh Barcelona around 5:00 p.m., we are just about to tender off the coast of Can France. Yeah, we um originally, if you watched our video yesterday, you would have seen that our plan or our intention was to go to Nice today. So, we were going to take you along how to get to the train and how to get to Nice from Can. Um, we have a plan B because apparently there’s a triathlon that is a big triathlon, like the biggest in France or something like that that’s going to be in Nice uh today. So, we are not going to that area now. Um, so now the I guess the goal is to find a little community up in the hills that’s got some shopping and restaurants and cafes and things like that and have a relaxed day there. Um, we’re going to try and get some food and coffee before we go so we don’t hit that panic mode where we must find coffee once we’re on land. We’ll be a little more chill. We’re supposed to be tendering I don’t or I guess getting there. We’re still we we’re still moving right now as you could see in the background. Um we’re supposed to be tendering or getting there around 9. I would I would assume before 10:00 we’ll probably start getting off the ship. Um given the fact that this is a tender port, we do need to get a ticket to get off the the ship. So, we do need to go I think around nine o’clock. They said that we can get RAW on five, I think it’s called, to get a ticket to to get a number to be able to get off the ship. The cabins worked out really well. We had the door open during the night. A little humid, but um not as bad as an infinity balcony. Um veranda, this is nice. It’s a little cove. Our balcony is enclosed, so we nobody could peer in. Um, so we’re very private here. Really liking this stateateroom. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it or not because this is just a like a big port hole, I guess, right? But, um, it’s nice. And right now, the temperature is 73°. So, it’s it’s beautiful out. It’s nice. It’s I mean, it’s a regular balcony, but it’s got this metal frame around it. So, it gives it a little block from the wind. and um a block from our neighbors. We look down on the outside terrace of the Eden area and that’s covered. So, it’s very private. No, I’m This is a great stateateroom. Um we are going to go and grab some coffee and probably I don’t know some pastries or something I think from the coffee shop and then we’re going to kind of explore the ship for a little bit. I will see you at our modified breakfast. Yes. [Music] No, we are on four, which is the um coffee shop. You don’t see a Starbucks on on Celebrity, but they do have their own. It is Cafe Albbachio, which is actually very, very good. And they’re made to order drinks. They also have a full pastry window or display I guess I should say. Um and I got a pan of chocolate and an almond croissant. Um I got what was a caramel pecan croissant which is gooey gooey sweet and a a basic cinnamon roll sweet roll kind of thing. Um I’ve got a vanilla latte. I’m just drinking a cappuccino. I don’t like sweet. Oh, so we’re going to have our uh croissants and Tim cinnamon roll. We’re booking now. It seems like we’re going faster than we were a little while ago. So, trying to get to where we need to be. And we are going to definitely be exploring the ship in a little bit. So, there’s some nice light coming in. We see the ocean zipping past. I don’t know why the ship is moving so fast. Maybe they’re the behind their schedule. I don’t know. But there are a lot of ships in the area. when we check what is it cruise mapper or whatever it’s called there’s quite a few like there’s costa a lot a couple of ships yeah there’s well we’re in the midst of like Monaco San trope um antib um so yes what is antibes no one’s going to know what that is I don’t even know what it is what do you mean it’s a old town along the coast did you know this before you did your research Rick Steves told me Rick Steves told you are you personal friends with Rick Ste, you know. Okay. Everyone says they’re friends with Rick Steves because you watch him though officially Chicago Travel Show a couple years ago. Picture right up there. Um I don’t know if you’re in the picture though. I think it was just me and Rick. I took the picture of you with him. All right. But yeah, it’s a pretty I mean the party was going hard last night when we went to bed, so imagine there’s some people hurting. We u tapered off and just relaxed the last few hours. The one thing about this itinerary is it is very port intensive and we have long days. Um, I really like that about Mediterranean cruises kind of in general, but then it gets a little bit tiring because you’re technically supposed to be on vacation and resting, but you can’t really rest. But I have to say this ship is gorgeous and we haven’t seen any, not even half of it yet. And I’m really really I like it better than the Apex. So, knock on wood. Is that wood? There’s no health issues this time. No sniffles, no no, we’re good so far. sprained ankles. No, nothing it um sure there’s things in France where Deanna can trip. Have I at all attacked by a mongoose or something? What do they have? What kind of vicious wild animals live in the French Riviera? I don’t know. Not monkeys. But yeah, we’ve we’ve seen this hillside that we’re going to try and see today from a distance when we went years ago on the train to Nice. We’ll see you soon. Thank you. [Music] We are officially on the uh tender boat. I guess we had um tender one cuz we were in line early and it is a ferry. It’s not one of the tenders that are on the the side of the ship or one of the lifeboats, I guess you would say. It is literally a ferry that goes to and from can. Um it’s provided by can. So um yeah, this should be interesting to see uh how to explore the hills above can rather than down. We got to figure out where we’re going, I guess, after we get off the ship. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Perched at top its promontory, the Souet district overlooks K, where the town’s journey began as a quaint fishing village. Wandering these historic streets reveals the true essence of can. Vibrant with culture and offering stunning views. [Music] All right, we have left the port of Can and come to there’s a neighborhood to the left of the cruiseport that I had heard about where there’s a old fortress. There’s also um a a church here, our a chapel. Um up ahead is the castra, which would be the the castle or fort. And we’ll flip the camera around and give you an idea of I am here surrounding a little behind him. It’s a little bit of a walk. Not that bad. Not saying it was bad. Just lots of steps. Although it does look like you can get up via a ramp over there. Um, here we are. So, this is the castle or castry in French. And they have a a museum up here as well. Very peaceful up here. Yeah, the big umbrella pine trees you see at the at the park up above here. It’s very picturesque. Um, entrance to the museum. It’s not open right now. So, but yeah, this is the place to be. This is the big con sign that you could see from town. St. An’s. Mhm. Almost monastery like Mhm. Wow. What a view. This is the canned sign. We’re behind it. Yeah. [Music] The monument is dedicated to Cardinal Gerier Gurer. It’s a really neat mural down there. Kind of a a French Revolution kind of mural down through the trees. I don’t know if I’ll be able to see that from closer. So the little battlements of the like a fortress here outside the church. Let me show you the facade of the church. Here the front entrance. I can’t I can’t find a date anywhere. I looked probably in like Roman numerals or something. It’s that old. Didn’t even see that. Um, look from the viewpoint up top. So cute. All of the balconies. And it is very cute. Gardens down there. Yeah. Last time we were here, we went to Nice. We didn’t really get a chance to explore Ken very much, but yeah, there’s a stairway up to this viewpoint where you’re walking. You try to imagine how many people have walked these steps over the centuries. Wow, what a view. Yeah. Looking to the left, you see the see out there. But yeah, then you see the the port there. Yep. And a million sailboats and yachts. Yeah. The area down below is about all we saw the last time we were here. Um, the last time we kind of just explored the regular town, but I don’t even think we got through it all. It was just a little piece of it. Beautiful though. Mhm. The water is gorgeous. That you could actually, if you had a water bottle, fill your water on. Fresh water. Oh, these are pretty. Mhm. No dogs up here or down there. One or the That’s what So there’s no dog side. Look at this. You could actually do your laundry or something, right? I suppose. Yeah. The Saint Anne Chapel was built during the 11th and 12th century. It was remodeled in the 17th century. [Music] Good morning, Seagull. This is your neighborhood. Hi, friend. Hello there. Oh, that’s actually a really pretty picture with a Mhm. It looks like the bus comes through here. Yeah, this says uh Rouge de la Castre is where these homes are. The hill that leads up to St. An’s. So quaint. Heading down the hill from the chapel is a little feist. It is. I wonder if it’s open. Dining. Mhm. What’s the menu like here? It’s pizza margarita. Mhm. lasagna. It’s Italian. That’s really cute. I love it. Oh, they they open at noon. So when u a car is coming, it gets a green light. The little pegs go down into the ground. A boutique hotel as well. Japetto. Did you see that? So it’s a Do you think there’s a little man making puppets? I don’t know. I don’t know what it is. Want to become boys? It looks like it might be some type of a art thing though. Um, that is officially I looked at the the restaurant again and it is Italian for sure. Mhm. I hear a dove. I hear it. All right. Entering the village. Oh my goodness. Look how cute this is. It’s a little restaurant. Yeah, we’re early. I think we’re going to have to come back up this way. We get some fruit or vegetables here. But yeah, this is kind of quaint. Take a look. Do we just Do we bring them with or Oh, there’s bags right there. Oh, wow. They’ve got almonds. Yeah, I see. Oh, you have a preference. I’m white. If they have a white flesh, it usually That’s white. Okay. They’re they’re right. We’ve got our peaches and there’s a little square with a fountain and the police station alongside a few beasts that have yet to open. It’s a little park. Very quaint. Very very. But yeah, what a pretty uh mural. It certainly is. So this is uh a memorial. Looks like World War II. 1939 to 1945. The Yeah. So, we are on a little bench in a square here in Can Square Font Su Mouso uh from 1899 to 1960. It’s quiet. It’s Yeah, it’s very peaceful. We’re eating our peaches though, which are amazing. Very, very good. Very nice breeze coming through. It’s in the 70s. It’s still 77. Get out. Get out of the sun. Yeah, this is primo. Very artsy around here. Now I just want everything to open. We’re still early. The cafes are all closed. But yeah, this makes your partner look that much more attractive than this light. What does that mean? It’s a romantic count. Oh, okay. So it makes it look Are you saying that I’m not normally attractive? I’m only only attractive because we’re in this town. You went there. That’s what it sounded like. You said it’s beneath an olive tree and some umbrella behind. Oh, I guess that is an olive tree, isn’t it? I didn’t realize. Very comfy, cozy. Lots of bug flowers and art around us. Very nice. Got a couple little friends have joined us while we eat our peaches here. We’re immersing ourselves in French culture here. Love that. It’s my favorite thing to do when we are on our trips. Yeah, that’s the little park where we had our peaches. Now we’re heading deeper into town. A gallery. Um hoping later some of this stuff will open up. Maybe we’ll return the gelataria. Um but yeah, these streets are very pretty. I don’t think we have to worry about cars cuz this is taken up by an outdoor dining establishment here. Every town we ever go to always has pizza and Italian food. Oh yeah, this is popular. Some duck vagura. Yeah, this is your traditional That’s your French there. Very traditional French. Um, sharing is caring sign. Should don’t bring that back on the cruise ship. People might misunderstand. It probably wouldn’t bode well. At least on ours. It’s like a live DJ nightclub lake club. Charlie’s. And look at the door knocker. It’s Oh, that’s really cool. It’s a hand. It’s freaky. I was just gonna say that. You read my mind. It’s a little bit of or film. Oh, here’s another one. They are They’re multi-course meals. So, you walk in and you pay one price and then you get, you know, probably an appetizer entree. Got another fountain. Uh-huh. That works. Little mosaic here. That’s really cute. Staircase up to where the chapel was, too. Yeah. Is it a little art shop? Mhm. These are the music boxes that play. That’s the national anthem of France, right? [Music] They have a lot of U posters here. Mhm. I guess the can uh film festival is typically in May, right? Yeah. Metal signs and uh coasters. If you’re a fan of lay miser Rob, there’s Gav Rash right there. They have a restaurant comes out on the point. My favorite musical of all time. And then there’s a restaurant called Meat and Fish right there. That’s very self-explanatory. But yeah, Gav is really cute. Oh, wait. There’s a little picture too, Tim. It’s like There he is. Here he is. The Gavush right there. Gav Rush. I mean, it’s a true story. So, but I he um the French Revolution. I don’t think the character is a real character, but they Oh, it might be. You never know. Victor Hugo. I But they’re based on real life people. Oh, that’s so cute. It’s like a little door would open almost like in um Florence. Florence when the like a wine door almost. Yeah, I read your mind there. Did you see that? Yeah. Um, there’s a cow and a farmer just sort of yucking it up there. That’s something funny. Another restaurant between the two of them. I move at a very slow pace. So, Diana has to keep pulling me out of the path. Hey, we’re getting closer to the cruiseport level, so there’s a lot more uh activity now. And the shops are opening up in anticipation. It’s cleaning the streets. Tons of little shops. All right. It’s really livening up down here on ground level. Wow. The shops are But yeah, there’s a a very narrow alleyway here that’s packed with people up ahead. This is souvenir shops like crazy cuz they’re double size. So that’s a the terrace I guess what we’re looking at here. and Shay Marcel. So, this is quaint. Mhm. Great. Oh, another whole section. It goes on and on. Yeah. I was just saying to Tim, I said the last time that we were here, we didn’t explore can very much cuz we had gone to Nice and we missed all of this. I had no idea. I always just thought Can was like more of a city with the the the the film festival and high-end shops like, you know, Chanel and I it I’m kind of I I should have assumed that there was somewhere, but I’m It’s just all so cute. Candy store. These look yummy. Yeah, there’s a lot here. Jams. Mhm. for sure. Oh, yeah. It’s really quaint. I love it. Love, love. So cute. Fair amount of locals wandering around as well. This the red carpet to the film festival they hold here every year. You just have to dodge all the I’m stopping to take a picture of people which is regular. We have officially hit the tourist section. Vanessa Red Grave of course. Yollywood. So just like Hollywood, they have handprints on the Mhm. So the little cafes right here along the little fountain square here are kind of the tourist trappy places. There’s a steak and shake of all things down here. Yeah, but it they make it look like it’s fancy because the lettering is different than back in the US. It says steak and shake by something and I can’t even read it. What does that say? And then there’s a New York New York, which is funny. And here we are. another American fast food chain. And they even have a a touch screen, so you don’t have to know French. You just order it by what looks familiar. There’s lots of touch screens, so just wait for your number to get called. I mean, there’s a lot to do here. Um there’s lots of restaurants, cafes, a lot of shops. So really, if you get off the ship, you don’t need to go far. Um, even though we still wanted to go to Nice again, but I’m kind of glad we didn’t and we had a change of plans cuz this is really quaint. You We’re at 11:00 is what they’re signifying right now. It is 11:00. Possibly. It’s a mass time. It’s 11:00 would be a logical time. Oh, there’s the sign that we were behind earlier. So, it’s kind of a call to mass bell time. There’s a little flea markety thing going on. Almost like a craft fair that people are setting up for somewhere for the kids to play. Yeah, this is there’s, you know, antique market. There’s crafts on the board area, I guess, is what this would be. As much as I see cats in a lot of the artwork, we haven’t seen any. I haven’t seen one cat. I’m so disappointed. What a weird mural. I mean, I guess it’s for the film festival probably, but it’s odd. Mhm. We are in back up the hill a little bit in the Leaf Squa area. Um, sitting at an Italian restaurant that’s kind of half open. We decided to grab a drink. We wanted to get pizza, but they said not until noon, and it is 11:30ish. So, I have a Spritz and red wine, of course. Yeah. It’s not an apple spritz. It’s a rosini spritz is what they called it. Cheers. You didn’t You’re going to drink it before you cheer. That’s bad luck. No, I know. I stopped it. Cheers. But yeah, this is kind of a residential neighborhood, so we’re seeing people with their dogs and wheelchair going up the hill. Everything’s cobblestone here the way you would expect it to be. Except there’s disco music playing out of the restaurant. That That is true. ‘7s disco music. This is a very quiet area compared to some of the tourist places out there. And it is shaded and lovely. I am relaxed. It’s away from the mobs down there along the waterfront and those side streets. Pretty crazy, especially in front of the film festival. My goodness, that’s so many tour groups pouring through and uh motorbikes and bikes and cars and Yeah. So, and people pushing their way around to get to things in a hurry. We’ve got a long time. But even down in that other little cafe kind of shopping area that was very ethnic and cute and quaint, people were just rushing and rushing and rushing. And I don’t understand why people are rushing, but it’s Sunday. Breathe. Relax. There’s a bug. Sorry. But no, this is it’s very refreshing and I’m cooling down. It’s a little humid out. We officially ordered pizza. Although, it was really funny because they wound up taking our order a little bit early. It’s noon now. Um I Tim and I got two different types of pizza. I got what they call a messomezo. And it is half red sauce, half pesto, and then I’ve got half straatella cheese, and half boufo mozzarella. So, um I don’t know. This looks really, really good. Obviously, it looks I mean, the dough is fresh as well, so I feel like I should cut this in pieces, but It’s just like Italy. It’s very good. The dough is very fresh. I’m easy. I went with the margarita pizza really well. Yeah, you got your leopard on the bottom and u Yeah, the cheese looks very good. Very nice. It’s very good. It’s perfect for today. We were, you know, a half hour or so early. So, the anticipation, but it cooked very fast. Much faster than I thought it would within what 10 minutes. Yeah, it was very fast. Very good. [Music] We’ve never been in water in France before. There’s a first time for everything. Amazing. It’s very nice. It’s beautiful. Goodness. Lots of people. The beach is very crowded. It’s a Sunday, so there’s a lot of people probably here just locally as well. Um, it is top optional. Yes. I’m aiming towards the water more than towards cuz we don’t want that. Yeah. No, we’ll just keep the camera on us instead. But you can see the MSC side out there. Yeah. And our ship is to the left of that. Oh, the sand is softer there. It’s not really rocky here, but it’s very hot. Um, anyway, no, this is pretty cool. I kind of wish we would have brought our suits off the ship, but it is okay. Yeah, they didn’t make it real clear that there would be a beach right here. We didn’t see this last time we were in town. So, they didn’t offer towels or anything like that. I assume you would have had to go to the pool deck maybe and grab a towel. And I’ll be honest, I don’t see any Well, maybe one or two ship towels. That is it. Most of the these are almost all locals. So, guys, we are back on the ship. Uh took a tender port back. It’s very long line actually. Took a tender boat back. Very tender port back. You can’t take the whole port with view. Are you all right over there? I think it could be sun. I think so. It might be too much sun today. I don’t know. Yes, we took the tender boat back, but it was a very long wait, I thought, under the circumstances. We’re sitting at the pool for the first time. Um, Celebrity Edgeclass ships have great pool areas. I love this pool. I’ll be jumping in soon. It’s the first time I’ve really been to a beach where a lot of women were without tops. This is hard to I can’t, you know, I can’t really film that and I can’t I try not to look, but it’s like one of those things like a car crash. You can’t help making excuses at this point. Um, a boat came by our tender while we were approaching uh our return to uh the ascent and they’re going way too fast and created a wave that made the little pier or whatever they call that the platform to get back on the ship crash against the uh hull of the ship. Um, and there was a woman laying completely naked on the front of that boat. And the captain of the ship, her husband, her boyfriend was snickering while our tender captain was cursing him. Yes. Well, welcome to the French Riviera, I suppose, cuz I think this is pretty normal for everyone. More money than common sense there. But it I saw like a a boat. I took a picture of it off of our balcony. I mean, it was like a James Bond boat. It was like there’s a lot of money here. That’s all I can say. Yeah, the pool is filling up now. Um, pretty quick drink service at the pool. Pña colada for me. Tim just drank. Why’ you have I just had a Coke. I just Yeah, I red wine with the pizza for lunch. I just needed something. I had spritz. But the pizza was very good. I mean, it was authentic Italian pizza, no doubt. Even though we’re in France, pretty stunned to see people with bottles of beer in the water cuz I know glass is a no now. Um, so we’ll see what happens there cuz the one broken bottle in that pool is shut down for quite some time. I could see a plastic cup. Big no big deal. But mine’s plastic. But yeah, there is a sign that says no swimmers only, no food or glass. Um, but they’re not doing anything about it. And the last time we sailed with Celebrity, I was able to bring my drink into the pool and no one said anything. So, I don’t think they follow the rules very well. I mean, I think the staff anyway um to hit the water into the water and uh we will catch up later. [Music] So recap of the question. Which of the following cities are US state capitals? There are six pitfalls. Angie, I’m starting with you. Honolulu. Honolulu. Why are you laughing? Why are you laughing? She’s your wife. That means you can laugh her. Let’s have a look. Is Honolulu correct or are we starting off weak? It’s correct. How about four, three, two? Don’t be shy. [Music] with me. [Music] I know my goal. [Music] [Music] Are you ready to celebrate? Please make some noise for your theater production cast and celebrate. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] I like to hear Sh. Good evening. We are back in our room or cabin I guess I should say and calling it a night. It is about midnight. Uh we have a very early day in Portoino tomorrow. Um Italian Riviera. Very excited. We’ve never been there. We’ve been to multiple places in Italy, but we have not been to Portoino. Seen a lot of pictures. Mhm. It looks gorgeous. Colorful. Can’t wait. It’s another tender boat thing. I think it’s the last one. It is the last one. Those are a kind of a hassle cuz on this particular ship and many others, you have to get in line in the morning, get your tender ticket, which gives you the, you know, the the order in which you get off the ship. So, it pays to take, you know, get there in line early, get your ticket, so you’re one of the first off the ship like we were today. It added a lot to it because we were able to see a lot of the attractions before the crowds. Um, but to wrap up our day, we had Oh, it was a good It was a good day. We We did a little bit of a wrap-up earlier. Dinner. We did have dinner with our new UK friends. Um, we went into the Cypress restaurant tonight, which is the Mediterranean U main dining room on board. Um, I always try to stick with something from that restaurant. Last night I didn’t, but tonight I did. And they had some weird Mediterranean pasta and it was not Italian. It was in a cream sauce and it was a weird cheese which I actually didn’t like, but the pasta itself was very good. It tasted homemade. Um, and there was some I think dried fish in it. Um, it was I’m glad I didn’t order that. It was good. I didn’t look at it closely enough. But what was the highlight of my meal was the soup. It was a Moroccan curry lentil soup and it was so good. That was probably my favorite tonight. I tried it. It was good. Um I got a very boring non-Greek soup. Um the um of course you cream of broccoli, but it was really tasted like broccoli. It did not like not like Campbell or one of those. It It’s I felt it seemed very healthy. So, I’m feeling very You feel healthy because you had capers. I had a a chicken salt and buco which had capers on it and it was like a almost like a a roll, you know, it had like a little Yeah, it’s pushuto in it. Um it’s an Italian dish. I I’ve I’ve had it before, but it looked like was fried. Yeah, it had it had like a dough like around it. Um which looked a little fried perhaps or baked. Um, it was a small portion size, which was fine cuz I’ve been eating a lot. Did I did convince him to order the Greek dessert? Yeah, I don’t think you did. I just think the watching you ordered the two years ago when we were on the Apex um and seeing and we had to convince our friends to avoid the uh apple pie all mode cuz it’s just so bad. Well, but there was an apple tart on the menu tonight and I think that that was one of the signature dishes. So, they’ve changed things a little bit here on Celebrity. They had um they have a signature dessert. There’s like one or two of them and they rotate every night. They didn’t have that the last time. Um but they do have main desserts that they have all the time like the apple pie and all of that. And then at every restaurant they have their own specialty dessert. So, um but it was nice and we had a window seat. Um we got to watch kind of not a pre- sunset then sail away as we pulled away from can and um we’re making our way towards Portoina very slowly cuz we’re only at um Monaco Monaco which is when and we left at 7:30 or something like that. Yeah, we’re inching along. Um, so we have been on the ship moving for a minimum of four hours and we have made it from Can to Monaco, which is a half hour to an hour train ride. So, we haven’t moved very far. Um, we went to the club for the first time uh to watch some trivia. The the show prior to the trivia we did looked really well done. Pitfall. Yeah, they very digital electronic scoreboard and it was yeah very interactive and neat to watch just I didn’t want to be up there but it was it looked fun and um the trivia trivia and there’s always somebody up in the upper level in a corner who has the most points and that’s because no one can see them go on to the internet and research yes their answers it was very blatant cuz there about six people all with their phones open. There were some really hard questions too. That too. Um we went from there to a show that was misrepresented in the Grand Atrium. It was originally um listed as something that would involve the martini bar, but it was just some people from the entertainment staff doing some dancing. It was supposed to be a sham uh the chandelier show which also included the martini bar and the mart and the bar staff. Um what it turned out to be a pre pride production show which was great and all. Um I love that because we support LGBTQ but at the same time it wasn’t what was on the calendar at all. So I’m really confused by that. I haven’t seen one martini show at all on this cruise. No. And it was quick. And so then we had some time to kill after that. Um it’s already midnight. Midnight. So we our friends never gamble. So we took them to the casino so they could watch us lose $50. Yes. Exactly. But um that’s about our kind of gambling. 100. But we won 50 packs. So, I’m hoping they don’t get addicted cuz we we did so well. Um, we it was really tough to watch. So, that that’s a, you know, like a a lesson. We we taught them that. I’m sure that I hope that that’s what it was. Yeah. There’s no quick winning there in that casino. The casino always wins. Everybody headed off to bed because we all want to get an early tender and get to Portoino, which is sounds I never thought I’d go there because almost all the cruise ships go to Naples, they go to Rome, they go to Florence, they go to, you know. So that it’s one of those a little off the beaten path destinations. I’m excited. Um, it’s a very early day. I think our we dock or not dock, but I guess we anchor at 6:00 a.m. and we’re supposed to be off the ship by 7. Um, they will be handing tender tickets out by 7:00, I think, tomorrow morning. We ordered room service for tomorrow, so we don’t have to go anywhere. But we will show you um Portoino from where we’re anchored in the morning and take you along with us. Stay tuned. Today Celebrity Ascent is tendered off the coast of Cannes, France. We’ll bring you along as we water taxi to the port. In Cannes, we’ll climb the hills of the old quarter, visit La Chapelle Sainte-Anne and Church of Our Lady of Hope, then meander through the historic streets of the former fishing village, now dotted with quaint shops and restaurants. We’ll dine at Tredici Italian Restaurant, snack on local produce in a quiet neighborhood park, and stroll on a sun-drenched local beach.
