Karavanla Güney Fransa: Collioure’da Sanat, Deniz ve Renkler
Today we’re in the city of Collioure, in the very south of France. In the previous episode, we parked our caravan at the campsite here. Today, after waking up and having breakfast , we began our 20-minute walk towards the city. We’re about 19-20 minutes from the city centre. The beauty and scent of the lemon trees truly reach your nose. It was a very peaceful and pleasant walk from the caravan site to the city centre. Both the paint colors of the houses and the buildings are truly refreshing. This is a place far from the hustle and bustle, and the city centre is the same. Luckily, there weren’t many crowds. We found a quiet spot, had our coffee break, and then began exploring the city. Collioure has historically been famous as a fishing town. Sardines and anchues, in particular, are very popular here. Now, we’re going fishing and art hunting together. In 1905, Henri Matisse and André Dry arrived in Kalur. These two painters were inspired by light and colour, and they gave birth to the Faovist art movement here. This movement emphasized vibrant colours and free brushstrokes. In fact, you can see traces of the same style in this shop. The locals must have been so impressed by this art movement that they painted their doors and flower pots in vibrant colors. You’ll often see these vibrant colors everywhere, and you’ll also see these beautiful cats. We spent a night in Collioure. This evening, we’re setting off again. For different cities, different adventures. Luckily, the weather was wonderful. We had a wonderful time. We had a quiet time. But we’re continuing on the road. You should follow us.
