I’ve just done all of Walcott Street and the market. This uh this piece here. Somebody wanted to take it to the dump. Can you believe really? It’s over a hundred years old. Yeah. It got wet and I’ve just saved it and it’s going to end up probably in a New York apartment. This it’s sacriage, isn’t it? Taking it to the dump. Oh, no. It’s going. Yes, it is. Yeah. Sacriage. People don’t know what they’ve got. No, I know. I know. Well, people think that some piece of junk is worth excellent. The whole antique market’s changed. People the the whole vintage thing that’s gone on, people want the look and they were prepared to pay a lot of money for junk to get the look. You know, all these recycling programs, people going to the dump. I’ve seen people on some of those programs completely ruin some pieces that are just left intact. I’ve seen them do some marvelous. I’m not knocking. And I’ve seen some marvelous things on things that looked as if they were uh they’ve had it. Yeah. But there’s a there’s a line in the middle somewhere. Yeah. Where you shouldn’t touch it. And yeah, they’ve done a good job on that. And that’s quite a big gray area sometimes. Well, thanks a lot, Dick. Great to meet you. And like I said, if you’re uh I try to deal in old ethnic clubs. Brilliant. If I can get them at affordable prices for people afford There you go. Now, Dick here. What a guy. He’s trading every Saturday here selling affordable vintage rugs. Yeah. Um and he’s saving them from from being extinct. Do you know what I mean? Thanks a lot, mate. Lovely to meet you. Yeah, brilliant. Okay, we’re going to walk around now. They got arrows out here telling me which way to Thank you, Dick. Cheers. Thanks a lot. Uh they got arrows here telling me uh which way to walk around the market. Now, there’s all sorts of various stores here. Uh general antique stuff like candle orders, jugs, uh pictures, picture frames, bit of music going on in uh in what was the gent over there. Yeah, it looks sort of like Eastern European that place, doesn’t it? You know, I mean, I I I watched one man’s videos on uh on YouTube and uh it’s full of that, ain’t it? And you sort of got that ear, but playing one of us. Anyway, the music will pick up in a minute. Yeah, but the music is not a backdrop to the the nice stuff that’s going on here now. Ah, now here we go. Oh, sorry. Sorry, I’m going the wrong way. I just nearly moved down a man in a bobble out there. Yeah. Anyway. Okay. As you can see, lots of cool stuff. Yeah. So, you can spend you could spend a couple of hours in here fing around. There’s probably coffee available as well. Probably somewhere somewhere there will be a takeaway coffee. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There we go. How about that then? I mean, I spent a lot of my life around some of this stuff and uh you get that you roll up. All right, mate. Uh, what’s your best? And they get all upset, don’t they? Yeah. You push it and go, “Come on, what’s your best?” And they knock it off, don’t they? Yeah. But you got to do it right. Yeah. Trouble is with these antique programs now is everybody’s an expert, but they’re not. And 99% of buying this stuff is psychology, right? Selling that. The bottom line is if people really want it, they’ll buy it, you know, for whatever price because they’re that type who’s got to have it. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Good morning, madam. How are you? All right. I’m making a YouTube video of Bath. Yeah. Yeah. Is this your stall? Is this your stall? Okay. Thanks very much. Not very talkative there, but that’s fair. Okay. So, this one we got a lot of uh antique cutlery. Okay. Yeah. Not bad, is it? Yeah. Anyway, just going on tools. This your store? Yes. Lovely. And lovely. I’m making a YouTube video. You all right with that? Yeah. All right. Brilliant. Now, this man, who is your name? Nick. Yeah. Nick here. Okay. as you can see, has got a absolutely wonderful selection of tools. Um, I used to go to Shepton Flea and a lot of tools in my house are from one of these places and it’s good stuff. I mean, he’s got he’s got uh new and vintage, and sometimes the vintage is better than the new in my opinion. It does a better job. Would you agree with that, Nick? Absolutely. The old tools. Do you mind if I go up here? I mean, let me show you these planes. these Stanley planes. I mean, you know, that’s quite solid. I mean, if you’re fitting doors in your house, that’s what you need. I mean, he’s even got a few surgical instruments here thrown in. Yeah. Which is which is good stuff. Um, adjustable spanners, retro ones, even a pair of aircraft wire locking pliers. I used to be an aircraft fitter and I used to use those quite my dad was an engine fitter and he use them used to use them every day. Yeah. Yeah. So, he Nick here. Okay. If you’re aircraft fitting, gardening, um, household jobs, woodworking, Nick is your man. All right. So, big up to Nick and thanks very much, Nick. Great to meet you, mate. All right. See you again. Thank you. Cheers, Nick. There you go. So, one lady you wouldn’t have talked to, but that’s fair enough. And then we have Nick. Yeah, Nick there, who I mean, literally I mean, he had um a few surgical instruments there. So, if you’re considering being a surgeon, go down and see Nick. I mean, yeah, you couldn’t say fair and that, could you? Yeah. So, like I said, I mean, the uh pitfalls there of of street video, not everybody wants to talk, but you just move on and find somebody who does like going out on an even trying to get somebody up for a dance. I mean, there are those who will not uh take to my magnetic charms. Yeah, they’re lost. So, you just find somebody else. Anyway, um until next time. Okay, I’m going back home now to Bristol. Um which is the land of the free, home of the brave. Yeah. And it’s been a great 24 hours in Bath and and the last uh the YMCA is cool. Yeah, I got a lot of friends in there and I love the people there and I love staying there. And I also love Walcott Street in its market. Yeah, absolutely top-notch place. Worth a visit. Okay, and until next time.
