🌿A Guide to the Most Romantic Villages in Provence | Slow Travel France

[Music] Welcome to Proce, a land where cicas sing louder than car horns, where the sun plays with golden stones, and where every alley feels like a brush stroke from an impressionist painting. Today, I’m taking you to discover five towns and villages you absolutely shouldn’t miss. Full of charm, history, and yes, lavender. Ready for a little Provenceal sunshine? Let’s go. [Music] We start with AES and Provence, the most elegant of Provence cities. With fountains on every corner, grand town houses and mouthwatering markets, Ach is like the Versailles of the South. without the castle but with a pastis in hand. [Music] This is where Sesan painted M Saint Victtoire from every angle. Stroll down Coribo, sip a coffee under the plain trees and let the charm sink in. [Music] It’s only a 30inut drive from Aoxim Proancece to Ansuis. [Music] Next up, Ancersy. A hilltop jewel that seems to have made a deal with time. Listed among the most beautiful villages in France, Ances offers quiet charm, narrow lanes, a medieval castle, and sunfaded shutters. [Music] This is the kind of place where you slow down, breathe in the scent of fig trees, and do absolutely nothing. Pure luxury. [Music] [Music] at the Top of the village stands the Chateau Donsui. A thousand years of history carved in stone. Once a medieval fortress, now a refined residence with stunning views over the Lubberon. A listed monument and well worth the visit. [Music] [Music] The next village is Lauron, less than 15 minutes away by car. [Music] Lur Marine is a village that doesn’t need to climb to impress. Nestled at the foot of the Lubberon, it stretches out gracefully with quiet confidence like it knows it’s already perfect. Its cobbled lanes wind between fountains, plain trees, and art galleries, creating a soft bohemian rhythm that feels like a long summer afternoon. [Music] Alber Kimu the great writer chose to rest here in a peaceful little cemetery just outside the village as if he too had fallen for the quiet light of Lurarine. Wandering through Lurarine means tasting provenance at its most refined. Scented markets a glass of rosé in the shade and the sweet rare feeling that time no longer matters. The Renaissance Chateau, one of the first of its kind in Provence, adds a noble touch and regularly hosts concerts and exhibitions. [Music] Let’s go see one of The most beautiful hilltop villages in France. 30 cay from Lur Marin. [Music] Perched high on its rocky spur, Gourd seems to float between sky and earth. Here in the heart of the Lubberon, the stones whisper tales of light art and quiet moments. Welcome to one of the most beautiful villages in France. [Music] Just a short drive away, the Abbey of Son rises from a sea of lavender like a vision from another Gourd is also that rare light, the golden glow that caresses the stones as the sun sets. A village that soothes, that inspires, and reminds us of something essential to slow down and marvel. [Music] Through its winding lanes, every turn holds a secret. An old carved door, a peaceful fountain, a lazy cat basking in the sun. The Renaissance Castle stands proud at the center. A timeless guardian of the village. On Tuesday mornings, the square bursts into life. Sense of lavender, goat cheese, golden honey. A provinile feast for the senses. [Music] The last wonder of Provence is Sirorg, Little Bennis. [Music] Liilser Lasorg, a name that whispers water in the art of slow living. Nestled at the foot of the Vocloose Mountains, this enchanting town is laced with the crystalclear waters of the Sorge River. They call it the Venice of Provence, and it lives up to the name. Here, water is everywhere. Winding through the streets, brushing against old stone walls, turning ancient mossy wheels. But Laya is also a dream for treasure hunters. Art galleries, antique markets, vintage finds. Every corner holds a surprise. On Sundays, the market brings the town to life. Olives, lavender, goat cheese, proven style voices, and sunny laughter spilling from the terraces. [Music] The charm of Lil Sirorg lies in its balance of elegance and simplicity. You wander, you pause, you listen to the gentle flow of the river. In the warmer months, you sit by the water with a homemade ice cream, and time quietly disappears.
