Flying to Larnaca, Cyprus to Meet Marella Discovery 2!!!

[Music] Welcome back to the channel everyone and it’s time for our next cruise and we’re off to see some fantastic ports of call. [Music] [Music] There are so many experiences and adventures to look forward to. [Applause] [Music] Join us as we fly to Lanica in Cyprus to meet Mela Discovery 2. Let’s go. [Music] Checking went very smoothly and we were soon making our way to departures, but not before a quick look around duty-free. [Music] This adventure would start from gate 41. [Music] [Music] Our flight would take 5 and 1/2 hours. And as we approached our plane, we were ready to chill out and look forward to another amazing cruise. [Music] We settled into our seats and it wasn’t long before we’re taking off and leaving Birmingham, UK behind us. [Music] There was no premium economy today, folks. We’ll save that for our long haul flights. [Music] There was no inflight meal. However, let’s take a look at the options if you fancy a snack or maybe something to drink. [Music] If you’re on a flight for less than 7 hours, it’s classed as a short or mid all flight. On these flights, there’s a range of hot and fresh food, snacks, drinks, and sweet treats to choose from. They’re all easily available to purchase from the cabin crew. [Music] On most flights longer than 3 and 1/2 hours, you can pre-order a hot meal. Most meals are available for pre-order up until 3 days before you fly. You can do this by simply logging into the manage my booking. [Music] TUI is a cashless airline and only card and mobile payments are accepted on board. They accept Visa, Visa debit, Mastercard, Mastercard debit, Google Pay and Apple Pay. [Music] [Music] Anything take you fancy? [Music] Not long now. Welcome to Lana where the local pun is 2 hours ahead of the UK. It’s just approaching 259. [Music] After thanking our excellent crew who had looked after us, we just needed to go and collect our luggage and make our way to the coaches that were waiting to take us to our ship. [Music] After our 45minute transfer to the cruise terminal, we were all ready to step aboard. [Music] Thank you very much. [Music] Thank you. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] It was a little late to do a tour of our cabin. So, we were in the port of roads in Greece when I had had a chance to experience the cabin and able to give you my thoughts as I showed you around. So, we are in a deluxe ocean view cabin uh on deck 7 of Mela Discovery 2, cabin 7082. Let’s have a look around. All right, let’s go. First of all, let’s pop into the bathroom and watch your step because there is a step going in. All right. So, let’s move on into the bathroom. Okay. And what the thing about this bathroom, what I’ve noticed, it’s it is quite roomy. It’s quite spacious. So, off up to the on the step. Okay. Let’s have a look. Shower. Nice big shower area. You’ve got the shower gel, etc. And of course, you’ve got a little rack to put your bits and pieces on. And it is a good shower. Um, if we have a look inside, as I say, it’s it is quite roomy, quite spacious, as is the bathroom itself. So, it’s shut down. Of course, the glass shower door. No curtains here. All right. You’ve got your towels. I think you can see what we’ve got. Okay. You got your mirror. And you got your mirror for the close-ups. Okay. There we go. All right. You’ve got your shower, your shaver point. And underneath here there is you got your bin and there’s some storage as well. Okay. So, that can be used should you need to. And you’ve also got some storage there. Okay. Plenty of storage. So, really satisfied with the bathroom. It’s very good. So, let’s move on out into the room. So, moving out into the room itself. Lot of space wardrobe wise. No complaints there at all. You can see we’ve got a lot of clothes in there, shoes, etc. At the bottom, you’ve also got more storage there. [Music] And you’ve got two two nice generous drawers there and another two generous drawers there. So, a lot of storage as regards that. We’ve still got another one of these, okay, which we haven’t had to use. And that’s the one where the safe is. It’s not a huge safe, but you can obviously get your documents and things in, which is fantastic. No problem. Does the job. More storage up there with the hair dryer. Hair dryer has been absolutely fine. Little vanity area there. [Music] Uh ice bucket. You can have your laundry washed and folded for $17.95. Just use the bag, pop everything in, pop it out, and they will sort that out for you. Got yourself a lamp of course. And we’ve got a three pin English socket, USBC socket, and a USB socket as well. So that’s well catered for there. Turning round, would you believe another cupboard, phone, coffee and tea making facilities, and you’ve got the Yorkshire tea, Nest Cafe coffee, and underneath, yep, you’ve got it. Some more storage and also little shelves as well, which all come in useful. And of course the air conditioning which has worked very well. All right. So looking at the side of the bed we’ve got, excuse the uh the bits and pieces. All right. So you’ve got down there a nice big deep drawer and shelving as well. Uh I’ll show you the lamp etc. on the other side. Nice little bit of art on the wall. But one thing about this is a lovely lovely sized room. It is a deluxe balcony room and it’s been really nice. You’ve got our calendar on there which we always use that magnetic hooks and just telling where we are each day just to keep track of what’s going on. TV and moving around there you can see lovely. It’s really nice. Really nice. Very comfortable bed. We’ve had a couple of extra mattress toppers put on there just to give you that little bit of extra comfort. Coming around here, as I said, you’ve got your lamp. There we go. And you’ve also got a very bright reading lamp as well. So, all that comes in very handy. Switch those off. And of course, you’ve got the same ports there. Now, one thing I will say under the bed, there is plenty of room to put your suitcases. We’ve got large suitcases and they fit under easily. So, that’s once again very useful. There’s a full length mirror. And sometimes you get these and they put them behind the the door and things like that. It’s really conveniently placed. And it’s a lovely little area here. It’s quite, as I said, it is roomy. You know, there’s no two ways about it. You got a lot of room. They’ve got a sofa bed here. So, obviously, it’s a sofa and then that will pull out to make a double bed. So, this room will cater for four people if it needs to be. Let’s have a look at the old towels. [Music] Okay. Make sure that you actually do hand them in otherwise there’s a £10 charge which we will no problem. So looking to the room there. Lovely. Really comfortable. Ever so ever so good. It’s been absolutely lovely. But let’s go out onto that balcony in the sunshine. There we go. It’s warm. So, stepping out onto the balcony. [Music] Not a bad view, is it? There we go. That’s roads there. So, onto the balcony. It’s a decent size. No problem. A lovely size table, so you can have breakfast, etc. on there. That’s really good. So, we haven’t had any problems at all. Let’s just pop around to the other way. The only one thing I would say is uh it does look a little bit tired in places um as regards the paintwork, but you know, if that’s all you’ve got to complain about, then no, it’s absolutely fine. So, balcony’s been lovely. Then back into the room. There we go. Pop that, too. So, you can see this is a deluxe balcony cabin on Discovery 2. Um, very good. I I I would definitely recommend one. Uh, it’s been absolutely lovely. Okay. And any questions or anything of that nature, just drop them below. That’s no problem at all. So, we’ve got, of course, at the back of the door gives you details of your muster station, etc. Uh, we haven’t had to use it yet. Hopefully, we don’t have to. And you’ve got your cards to pop onto the door handle outside to tidy up your room or not to tidy it up, whichever you prefer. So, yeah, what more can I say? It’s been very, very comfortable.
