Arriving At Hookpit Farm Certified Location

Right. We’re on our way to a CL called
Hook Pit Farm. That’s right. Yeah. Near Winchester. [Music] We recently left Hermanfest
at Round Hill. So, this is sort of on the way home really, but we’re meeting up with our
friend Allison. Yeah. So, we’re going on the M3 and we’re looking for junction 9 sites
near a village called Kingsworthy. Okay. Take the slip road ahead. Okay. So, we catch
up with you when the driving gets a bit more interesting. Yeah. Okay, then. Take exit 9 on the
left to A34, then head to the roundabout. Where are we going at the end? At the roundabout,
take the second exit to Winchester bypass. Well, it says on the instructions from the site, take the A34 signposted the Midlands Newbury
Newbury and then after 3/4 of a mile, bear right onto the A33 signposted Basinstoke.
Okay. So, at the moment, we want the A34. Okay. [Music] In 3/4 of a mile, take the exit
on the right toward Kingsworthy. Take the exit on the right toward Kingsworthy. in 3/4 of a mile. Turn left onto Lovedon
Lane. That’s the same. Not this one. No, it says a third of a mile.
Turn left onto Lovdon Lane. Lovedon Lane. Okay. [Music] In 1 and a half miles, turn left
onto the road. This says continue for 1.4 miles. Just after the crossing over the railway
line, bare left into a no through road. Okay, that’s the same as that. So, this is
Kingsworthy. Looks like it’s just off the road according to the bird’s eye
map. In half a mile, turn left onto the road. Pub here. Yeah, I saw that pub.
It looked nice. Turn left onto the road. Yeah. So, this is Yeah. the railway crossing,
isn’t it? Yeah. So, bare left onto the no through road. Okay. Which must be up here
somewhere. Brown sign. Brown sign. Yeah. Yeah. Caravan Van Park. [Music] It says the site will be on your left
after 230 m past the farm entrance. In 100 y arrive at Hookpit Farm Caravan site on the left. That’s right. It is on
the left. Hook pit farm caravan site. Yep. [Laughter] Someone to open the gate
for us. Yeah. Don’t normally get that, do you? Thank you. Thank you. How’s our
lesson? All right. So, there’s a code on my Do we go in that one over there then?
Which one? That’s just a turning round, isn’t it? So, there’s one, two, three,
four, five. Right. Go this one over here, I suppose, in the corner. Yep. Or this
one here. I do not like the weeds. Just thinking if you want to put your
awning up. Yeah. Oh, yeah. You would be all right here. It’s all right. Got my lefts
and rights mixed up. Yeah. Go here then. Yeah. [Music] Sometimes when I try to reason, you don’t seem to listen at all. [Music] I don’t know if it’s just a feel [Music] or if
we are about to fall [Music] in the rain will come back. Over here I got a friend Allison
just enjoying a cup of tea. She’s got a wind break up. It’s quite big field here. what they use
that for. They do rallies or something. But yeah, have a little look around. Let’s just show you our
pitch. It’s quite a long pitch and just about get the Well, got the car on quite easily. Got the
awning up. It’s a bit of a windy day. I mean, wireless mics have run out, so I’m using the
old editage microphone I used many years ago, so hopefully you can hear me. Yeah.
going have a look at the water. [Music] Have a look at the view as well.
Yeah, it’s a chemical emptying point. And rinse out there. Not for drinking. Yeah. Okay. We never been here before, so assume.
Oh yeah, gray water disposal in there. Little bit of farmland behind
us. View over over the hills. Just five pictures. Caravan. Us Allison. Oh, and there’s another one over
there. Yeah, at the end there. That’s all right. We’re here for three
nights and we’ve got the car. So, uh Allison’s got her two dogs with us with
her rather. Yeah. Looking forward to have a nice relaxed little break and a chat with
Allison. There’s a code on the door. Um I hope uh I haven’t accidentally closed the gate.
It was just on a sort of bit of rope when we arrived. Otherwise, we’re going to be in
trouble cuz we don’t know the code. Here’s the bins, obviously. Yeah, could be in
trouble here. We don’t know the code. Yeah, the picture is not
too bad. It’s quite slloy, but the air suspensions help sort most
of it out, so I’m not going to bother too much. Just a little bit down to the left,
but uh that’s okay. Yeah. Goes that way. [Music] Yeah. Just going to be out for a little
walk or try and find somewhere to go for a little walk. [Music] Yeah.
Found out what the code was. Sure. You put that back. That goes [Music] down.
What’s towards the village? That way. Is it way though? I think. Yeah. Do you want
to walk down to the village? See what’s there? Which way? That way. Did you bring
any money? Uh, no. Yeah. Just come down to the end of the road. Have a little walk down
to the village. I thought someone will let me. Yeah. I think Jenny’s thinking pub. Yes. Get that
embrace. King Charles. It’s about half a mile walk. 10 15 minutes walk. Just had a little pint.
Going back and get some tea now. But they don’t they don’t serve late on a Sunday. Finish serving
for food. So, we might pop back later later whilst we’re here. Might do food on a Monday. We think
possibly. Yep. Is that a swimming pool? No, it’s a seating area, isn’t it? A few walks around
here. Extensive network of public paths which we haven’t actually seen really. So, the red is
footpath. Yeah. So, we’re there. So that footpath over there goes out all the way out up to the
A33. Yeah. Presumably you can then go back round that way and just come back the way you came.
It’s either Stoke Charity Road or Worthy Down Lane. We’re not quite You could do that and then
come down there and then come up the main road and Yeah. into the pub. Yeah. Could do that. Could
do that cuz that seems a bit Yeah. Okay. too much of a walk uphill. Coming back was quite quite a walk. Not so bad coming down.
You need a dog to pull you up, don’t you? Good morning. We had a really
good night’s sleep last night. So quiet here. Come on, girls. Come on. Yeah, wonderfully quiet, man. There is a road
just behind us, but there’s very little traffic on it at all. Yeah. So, we’re just going to have a
little bit of editing today and uh relax. Oh, hell looks a mess, isn’t it? And uh that’s it really
for this morning. Tomorrow, we’re heading off to uh Winchester going for a meal with Allison’s
friend. No one else on the site. No one here. Little bit of them off. Go on. He’s come to life. Yeah. All right. You’re not chasing that. You don’t do balls, do you? No, she don’t understand. She’s
exhausted herself now. Yeah. Ready? Okay. Bring it here then. At least brings
it back. Well, having said that, she’s gone the other bring it back. Fish ball.
Holly. Holly. There you go. Good girl. Ready. They’re both quite good at giving it back.
So, it’s just there, Poppy. Come on. Come on, Bobby. Good girl. Come on. Do you drop
it? Come on, Holly. Bring it back. Lovely. Look. And then if it’s still not here
late, we can have another game. Yeah. Yeah. Come on then. Ready, Poppy? That’s your ball. Quick.
Yay. Come on, Pops. Come on. No. No. Bring. She doesn’t always bring it back anyway. I’m not a
retriever. No. No. She expects me to go and get that. We found a nice walk. We’ve got left out of
the campsite and then left again at the bottom. You’ll find this track and I think it takes
you under the railway and back to Kingsworthy. Is it Kingsworthy the village? Yes. Yes.
Yeah. Poppy’s enjoying it. These two are enjoying it. They’re just on the lead at the
moment because of the horses. Shetland Pony. Good morning. Hello you two. Donkey there. Say hello to the camera. Not not allowed to feed you, mind you. I
think you’re finding plenty to eat there. A bit of a walk up the road takes you to
the pub just up there about 200 y now. Butternut squash, mushroom and lentil
wellington with roasted new potatoes, sauteed kale and red wine gravy. Very nice.
Very posh. You’re having the same. Yeah. And you’re having a pie, aren’t you? Yeah.
Chicken and mushroom. Okay. Nice meal. Nice beer. Yeah. It’s a very nice pie and very
nice inside as well. Highly recommended. We’ve come down to the bush at Hovington. There
is a barn at Aington, but we’re not going there. No. Okay. So, I I thought she’d keep us on the
main road, the B3047. She’s brought us down here. You know how much the uh up likes the this
little Well, she seems to sing right. You know, you’re in the up. Yeah, you like to go down
a really narrow road. It’s a 17th century in, isn’t it? Oh, is it? Okay. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Looks
u very interesting in the pictures. Yeah. So, this is complicated, but we’re meeting
up with uh friends of Allison’s sister Christine. That’s right. Isn’t it? Yes. Yeah.
We went to the same school as us for for a while until they moved out this way. Yeah.
Remember, we’re going to the post code. So, yeah. Arriving at SO240 RE on the
left. Okay. Should we get somewhere? So, it could be anywhere. Yeah.
No signs for it, are there? No. Oh, here it is. was too difficult to find.
I was just thinking if you put it in Google Maps the name of the park cuz it does direct you.
Yeah. Directly there, doesn’t it? It didn’t think there would be a lot of parking when I looked.
I don’t know whether there is around the back. Small park green van. No. Oh, no.
There’s no parking at all. No. Okay. Right. This is the uh I’m going
to sit outside. This is the the pub. It’s by the river. It’s lovely. Go
and have a look at the river puppy. Oh, there’s more chairs in there as well. Tables in
there. Oh, look at that. Very pretty. A bit wild. Yeah, this looks right. Mhm. Yeah. 19 I think
it is. Yeah. Yes. Two. 119. Bring some memories. Chickpea curry. What do you want then,
Pops? Yeah. Usual. Okay. Good girl. You Yeah, we’re just going to go for a little walk. Down by the river. Yeah, the bush in Wad
Wodssworth or Wadworth. I should get it right. Speeding up a bit now. Idilic place.
Quiet as well, isn’t it? Yeah. Well, apart from a plane. Well, apart
from the plane. Yeah. But I mean, traffic wise and Yeah. Come on.
Very nice. All right. Come on down. Okay. If you see with the camera suddenly
speed up. That’s uh this one. No. No. Going in the water. Come on. Oh wow. Look at
this. A blue bridge, isn’t it? This is the water crest way again. Okay. You’re all
right here, girls. Talking goodness. Stinger necklace. Come on. Come on, puppy. You be
careful there. You got some. Yeah. Wow. [Music] Heat. [Music] the river. Yeah, there are brown trouts
in here. I see one over there. Yeah, few inches long. Shallow, isn’t it? Really? It
was shallow. Iconic freshwater habits habitats. 200 rivers of this kind are found in the
world. Chalk rivers are springfed from groundwater reserves called aquifers. Do
you remember we used to play in Assassin’s Creed? One of the tasks was to count
get 12 brown trail. Yeah. Waterv. And we’ve definitely seen a damsel fly.
Yeah, definitely. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, it’s really nice. Yeah. Imagine getting
there. That river just on your doorstep just really just about squeezed
through there in the up. Oh, it is a Ford. Oh, excellent. Where is it? Just
here. Yeah. Oh, yeah. A tiny little thing. Hope I hope it’s a little thing. Otherwise, we’ll be
washed down the river. At this time of year, it’s only wonder it’s like in Well, we’ve been through
one of those for ages. I mean, there used to be one in Harpendon. Yeah. Around the back there.
Batsford. That’s right. Used to go through that. [Music] [ __ ] I haven’t programmed this sat. No. Okay. Did you film me doing the game? Yeah. Thank you.
Look down there. It’s affiliated. [Music] Yeah. So, I think it’s basically back to the M3. Yeah.
A34. A34 until we get to the M40. Okay. And it’s off the M40. It’s not far from Warwick. Yeah.
So, I um’d and rr’d about going back there. Yeah. Right. So, we’re leaving Hook Pit Farm CL. Yeah.
We said our goodbye to Allison. I’ve been really good there. Yeah, we have. It’s been nice. Enjoyed
it a lot. Yeah. There was only been one other van there for a lot of the time and there and uh yeah
really really quiet and uh pub was nice. Pub was nice and walks are nice around here. Yeah, highly
recommend it. Yeah. So yeah, and we’re liking sea elves more and more these days. Yes, that’s right.
Well, it’s it’s nice for Allison with her dogs as well. Yeah. Yeah. How much was it? Uh £24 a
night. Right. Okay. Okay. But we’ve, you know, it’s had electric with 16 amp electric. So, uh,
that’s the end of this video and, uh, for our next video, we’re going to be going to Harborry
Fields. So, watch out for that. So, thanks for watching and we’ll see you soon. Yeah. Bye then.
Bye then. Let’s go to the dog walk. Probably there. Yeah, we’re only here for one night, so
we’re not going to get the awning out. I think even if we did, it’s going to
get wet through. All right, T. Poppy, what do you reckon? I think there’s about 55
pitches. Okay. In based on the numbers. Yeah. So, we’re here. Yeah. And that’s there is a
farm walk round around a field some point.

We arrive at Hookpit Farm Certified Location, near Winchester, a nice quiet site, to meet up with our friend Alison and her two Labradors.

  2. We’ve stayed here twice. Second time we booked all 5 pitches as we had 4 sets of friends join us.
Lovely pub a few minutes walk to the right out of the site, lovely walk along the old railway a few mins walk to the left out of the site.

  3. It was so funny, my wife was with a friend and drove passed you while you were out walking over the bridge. Said oh my god that's Bob and Jenny and the friend said who Bob and Jenny 😂❤ . I used to play darts against the king Charles pup about 40 years ago 😮 .

  4. Useful location for us to visit family back in Basingstoke, we’re now in Somerset. I know the Cart and Horses in Kings Worthy, never heard of the King Charles, it looks good.
