Backpacking Southeast Asia Slow Travel Tips: HUGE SAVINGS!
hi guys welcome to CM ree yep we are here in cm ree now this video is going to show you a 35h hour straight grueling travel trip from laner bang to CM re stay tuned oh good morning boys and girls oh good morning you guys so here yeah you can see us here in full on yeah we got our packs on packs yeah so you know what that means Moving Day moving day we are getting ready now to uh hunt down a t here it’s off to the train station and that’ll begin leg [Music] one okay so here we go on the road again yeah yeah yeah to go with that uh that comment that somebody Kate made yeah Willie would love it except uh yeah we have no herbs nope okay guys so this Begins the leg one of this uh long long day long day so we’re on the train now got our seats and everything it’s actually a pretty nice train actually not bad well give you a quick peek of the cabin [Music] we oh the excitement and the nervousness and the anxiety and the adventure all of it wrapped into one yes all going so the first leg is just simply a ride on the loud China Railway train from lamper bong down to Bon the capital what did you think of the ride I think it was nice and smooth and it was really it was very very fast yeah I think we were on there maybe 2 2 and 1/2 hours somewhere in there did not seem like it at all a beautiful scenery oh yeah yeah beautiful uh L Countryside actually beautiful oh it’s gorgeous we’re going to take a quick break right now because we need your help with our new Shopify store we have these beautiful 4K travel photos that are up for sale right now put that into perspective if every single Community member bought one photo it would save us for the next two months yeah so please consider supporting our new businesses that we’ve just started yeah please thank you hello again hello everybody all right so that actually went pretty damn smooth um it’s after we got off where some issues uh wow so here’s what happens we get off the train at Bon onto a big wide open Air Platform okay we get out the doors look across the way over towards the wall about 20 yards away there’s an astray so we walk over there and I’m looking around and I don’t see any no smoking signs whatsoever but I do see an ate with a couple butts in it see where this is going next thing I know I’ve got somebody in official capacity coming up to us and going no smoking I’m like oh okay sorry sorry mely put it out mely put it out and then pick up our belongings and get ready to head to the exit gate and move on and then we hear Hey passports I reach in I get out my our passports he takes him looks at him and then next thing I know he’s got two little buddies that show up alongside one of them with hand CS so next thing we’re being escorted along with one other Solo Traveler and a other couple travel and we’re being escorted all the way down to the end of the building and on the way down there about 120 or so yards down the road we count two more asays with no no smoking sign get to the building finally there’s the first and only no smoking sign the GU started through Google translate telling me we broke La law we apologize profusely and I’m sorry right and then all of a sudden it’s well no you got to pay us $100 I’m like wait what yeah each of you have a cigarette that’s a $50 fine each for taking a drag next to an ashtray with no no smoking sign they held my passports hostage while uh they walked me uh including Mr handcuffs himself uh over to the ATM in order to pull money out they didn’t just want the $100 he tried getting me by saying it was 2.5 million Kip here’s the thing thing I just spent 2 months in La I knew that wasn’t right right so I grabbed out my phone with the currency converter he was like what are you doing and I’m just like hold on and then I show him in the converter what $100 is the man literally rolls his eyes like almost like a teenager and then gives me that fine kind of deal and then you know settled on the actual amount there was no reasonable expectation for myself Brooke or the three other travelers to have had any prior knowledge that that was an actual alloud law and even still why would you have those astrays there if it’s again if it’s against your law right why keep the ASAT and why not put up no smoking signs and why if it’s an and it is an actual regulation I did look it up but why not put the statute up something so that way everybody is aware of the rules and can then be reasonably expected to not break them right just saying anyhoo so here we are uh about Sunset now and we’re getting ready for leg number two of this uh Marathon Journey yeah uh this one is going to take approximately 13 hours yeah all right so give you a little look around the area though kind of quiet out here kind of like it yeah got a bunch of Farmland you know oh yeah we got cows oh yeah here they are yeah there they are right down there yep they’ve been pooping yes they are yeah there they go yeah yeah we had to run off to the ATM earlier CU they don’t have one here at this train station yeah it’s been F but we were going down this main kind of street here just cow after cow after cow oh yeah yeah that’s right goats yeah some goats and all I could think of is if any of you have watched the video or haven’t go back and watch the like the surround Albania video because uh I’m I flashed back to that because all I thought was oh God I’m going to get punked out by a cow again hasn’t had the best uh situations weird cow I’m from the Midwest for God’s sakes it hasn’t been good for him for couch but we’re trying to remain in good spirits here guys here we are we’ll pan around there we are here we are all right so here we go we are about to embark on our second longest train trip during the 9 months we’ve been doing this this one is 13 hours so as you can see we are literally sitting 13 hours so you endure because this is the life you want and the next location is the one you want right yeah uh how do you feel about that Miss brook let’s see no leg room uh not really able to lay down or anything like that so extremely uncomfortable the right word to use and I know the footage doesn’t really show it because that was right when we were at Bon uh but the thing is is that we picked up a hell of a lot of more passengers along the way he got nice and stuffed in there so I mean you were literally stuck in a oh my God you know for about for about a good 12 to 13 hours man yeah you’re very CR yeah couldn’t get off that train fast enough once we hit Bangkok so that was leg two and I uh will now tell you that uh for the third time now since August 24th we are in the city of bangok we’re back in Bangkok but only briefly yep we were about ready to leave because no sooner I mean you want to talk about some good luck guys no sooner did we get off the train and kind of get situated get over to the next area we needed to get to in order to book our bus that we need to get to our final destination we get there and they’re like oh yeah yeah yeah and they’re like how soon would you like to leave today and we’re like yes preferably and they’re like okay well about 45 minutes oh okay oh well so we got that all squared and now we are going to I believe it’s somewhere in they said neighborhood of 7 to 9 hours but this time in a minivan here and we’re the first ones so there will be more in here but yeah yeah it’s been uh an adventure yeah I don’t have any other words right now Brook how about you no I don’t yeah oh it’s been something yeah we’re just kind of just combobulated and doing the best we can at this point we’re kind of just Trucking right now yeah on our very last little bit of inter so we’re talking from 8 a.m. MH the morning we left lamper bong till the following day around a little after 700 p.m. 35 Plus hours straight no sleep and so here we are in cm we’ve already got a whole lot filmed and I just need to get it edited and ready to go for you guys you want to give him a little sneak peek or two we have markets in the we have some temples yeah that’s true uh we’ve got three different temples that we’ve been to uh might put them all in one video I don’t know you guys might have like Temple nause after that 53 minute one from Lao but uh with plenty of markets around here that uh especially this really cool one called the ma in Cambodia Market really can’t wait to show that one to you guys beautiful there uh let’s see what else we got uh We’ve also got Pub Street oh yeah we got Pub the famous Infamous Pub Street and all theie you could ever want in your life God but we got that uh we were going to do a full-on food video we uh but the problem is is obviously given the enormous constraints that we’re under currently uh the best I can probably do for you is maybe like show you all the menus and show you some of the interesting unique items that you can get down here and show you some pricings too yep uh unfortunately the reason that everybody comes to see him Reap Cambodia on cor W yeah that one is probably out honestly because that one it was for one day of visiting and mind you you need a lot of days to visit that complex yeah uh for one day that’s like 75 bucks for you know me cover the two of us can’t do that right can’t be doing that but we’re going to be trying to ban this all out to you as fast as possible because you know you’ve been keeping tabs and track well we might only have about the next couple weeks and you know we’re praying every day and hoping and working just hopefully something will start going off and turning around for us here but you know we’re really hoping yeah but yeah don’t forget about the uh the photos that we have up for sale and uh if you guys know anybody needs like some videos basically edited you know I’m pretty cheap on that one too uh I’ve also got a fund my travel campaign thing going right now that’s specifically for travelers uh like I said you know between the businesses the channel the the uh F my travel campaign and we’re doing every single thing we can yeah no rest for the for the weary here even so all right well God speed and we’ll see you in the next one see you guys

I did the same overland journey, but I stopped in Van Vieng and had overnight stop in Vientene. I took the daily train to Bangkok and it was great. Slept in Bangkok and took bus to Siem Reap. Was fun and not that bad actually.
