5 Southeast Asia Travel Tips
Watch this video before you travel to Southeast Asia. Make sure you bring cash with you because while it is common to accept card, a lot of places still do take cash, especially if you want to go street food or shopping on the side of the streets. Don’t forget to pack sunscreen and mosquito repellent. A lot of touristy places charge this at a premium, so it’s much more expensive and you just don’t want to get sick from mosquitoes. Don’t drink the tap water. Brush your teeth even with bottle water. But ice should be safe. Just make sure you check with the local health standards. Watch out for scammers, especially in touristy areas. Don’t just get into anyone’s car without asking the price. Compare the price online. Also, do negotiate when you’re shopping in the market. A lot of the times they might two or 3x your price. If you’re going to temples, don’t forget to cover up your shoulders and then wear below the knees because sometimes they won’t let you in. And lastly, bring a translator because not everyone can speak English fluently. So, make sure you have a translator and you should also learn some of their basic phrases with Rosetta Stone so you can have some conversation with the locals. Southeast Asia is absolutely amazing. So happy traveling.
