France Pt 1 – The border to Frontignan

Morning. [Music] Um, right, we’re back in we’re back in France now after we drove I don’t know maybe five, six hours yesterday in the end. We’ve stopped and stuff. Um, yeah, we’ve just stayed at a little camping car park just for tonight. We’re heading off today. Um we’ve got our one of our favorites booked um Yellow Village for for three nights. Um so that will take us up to Friday and then we’re going to head we’ll head back up north then as the ferry home is Thursday the 5th. So go get Barney done. Barney goes for his worming tablets on Monday next week. So he’ll be back up north by then. It’s lovely and sunny again. Um lovely and warm. So, we’re going to going to enjoy the next few days. Um in the sunshine. Got a pool and everything. Um so the girls can do some more swimming, stuff like that. Um sorry, just concentrating. There’s a little posty going past on his bike. We’re just exploring this little little town um where we stayed tonight. can get some bread and cakes and stuff. It’s good being back in France. We’re quite comfortable here, language wise, things like that. Um, so yeah, hour and a half drive to the yellow village, which is a bit further down the coast near Agda. Um, so yeah, as soon as we get there, I will uh I’ll update um get a video get the videos on the go from there. [Music] decided to have a quick walk up to the the castle. We saw we were down the bottom at the uh the bonerie and we saw a castle. So, we thought we’d come up and have a look. It’s it’s amazing. Like we’ve got behind me there in the distance is the sea and then behind me this side there is the Snowcap Mountains. So so different to where we’ve where we’ve been. We’ve obviously we’ve hugged the coastline wherever we’ve been. Um this place is just so green and tiny little village. Villages dotted all along. So yeah, nice little uh a nice little start to the last leg of the journey. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Hi everyone. Um, so we’re in South France still. Um, just at a town called Agda. Um, just at the hypermarket at the minute. Kate’s just gone in to get us topped up. um before we uh before we move on. Um going to try and squeeze one more night in down here and then we’re going to start moving north. Um managed to move Barney’s vet appointment back a day to the to Tuesday next week. So it gives us a little bit more time to get back up um get back up to um Calala. It’s it’s boiling hot. It’s so hot here. I think they must be having a little heat wave. I think um it’s just it’s so warm. Um we’re just going to have a chill day today cuz El has been swimming madly each day. Um you might have seen on Instagram if you follow us on there that she’s pretty much taught herself to swim in these in all this time we’ve had all these pools and stuff. So yeah, she’s absolutely exhausted. Um I think the heat’s getting to getting to her a little bit. So, we’re going to have a chill, let her have a quiet day, and then we’ll we’ll hit the road tomorrow. Not sure which way we’re going to go yet to get back up north. Um, we’ll just take each day as it comes. As as we do, as as you know, anyone that’s done this life, you know that things don’t always go to plan. Um, so yeah, we try not to plan the route to an inch of its life. Um, we’ll just follow the road and see uh see where we where we end up. Um, there’s a couple of camping airs that we’re going to we’re looking at. They’re filling up pretty fast. Um, so we might have to go a little bit in land, but it is what it is. It’ll if we’re in land, it will make us all um make us all rest for a little bit anyway. So, yeah, see see where we end up. So, forgot to say the last um the last few days we’ve spent at a um a Yellow Village campsite um just we wanted to give all that pool time again um to get practicing the swim in. Uh it’s it was it was nice. It wasn’t particularly set up very well for for motor homes. Um seemed like motor homes were a little bit of an afterthought. Um they were just dotted all over the all over the park. the service point was at the furthest point away from the vans. Um, so yeah, it wasn’t particularly set up well, but they’re always nice. You you’ve got the nice pool and restaurant and all that sort of stuff. Not we don’t go to the restaurant. Um, it’s a bit too much bit too expensive for us. We generally just eat in the van. Um, so yeah, we uh I didn’t do any filming there. We just had a bit of time together um to reset before we head before we head back. Um so yeah, I’ll put I’ll put the name of the of the Ella Village on this on this video if anyone wants to check it out. It was a nice it was a nice site, but yeah, just remember it’s not particularly set up well for for motor homes and camper vans. Um Right. [Music] Maybe our final one of our final beach stops as we’re going to be heading back up the country tomorrow. Um, we might actually cut across and nip into Switzerland just for something uh something a little bit different. We’ll see. But yeah, we’re at a little place called Frontin uh or Fontinon. Not sure how to say it properly. Sorry. Um we’ve just stayed on a little camping car um site on the edge of the town. It’s rammed full. Um, so we’re only going to stay for one night and then we’ll we’ll move on tomorrow. Yeah. Maybe Switzerland, maybe the center of France. Who knows? [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] We can’t do it. [Music]

The next leg of our Vanlife journey took us into the south of France. Its somewhere we’ve wanted to visit for ages so it was the perfect stopover. It was much cooler than Spain so we had a few cool nights sleep. The temperature soon picked back up as we moved around the coast. Vanlife parkups came easy in France. Its such an easy country to move around with parkups everywhere. We hit our last beach of the trip in Frontignan before we headed north.
