VLOG: Europa-Park 2025, Day One | OUR FIRST VISIT | Voltron Nevera, Piraten in Batavia & More!
Good morning everyone from another beautiful day here at Wait a minute. We’re not at Epcot. What? Oh, hello. Yeah, you can spin. But welcome to Europa Park. This destination theme park in Roose, Germany is a celebration of European countries and cultures anchored by worldclass attractions, shows, and dining experiences. As part of our summer 2025 trip to Germany, we get to spend three full days in this park, two of which we’ll be vlogging for you. Best of all, on-ride filming is permitted at Europa, so long as you have the appropriate harness for each type of attraction. So, we’ll be able to take you along for our entire day as we explore this property for the very first time. Talk about faint goose. What do you want? What? Stop yelling at me. [Music] What? Something that stood out right away to us as we entered the park and crossed into new areas walking through is that every country, area, kingdom, whatever we want to call these, they all have their own meeting points where you can rally up with your party if you’re meeting people who are coming separately. Which brings me to the fact that we are not here in the park alone today. We are here with Yannik and we’re starting with Pton and Batavia. Exactly. Okay. Nice talk to the park. Let’s do it. We are ready to have an awesome day. That was good. We do things like this. I probably should have changed my glasses for sunglasses or vice versa rather. Too late now. Oh, cool. Got bright on. Oh, no. Wow. Wow. [Music] Heat. Oh wow. [Music] Oh, now you Oh, yeah. [Music] phenomenal, phenomenal dark ride attraction. I will just say that won’t be the last time we do that one. That attraction has actually been completely rebuilt and reimagined since a huge fire that took out the original attraction. And according to Yanik, the entire story line changed. Did you hear that? No. So two weeks from now, there’s Summerfest and they stay open until midnight. You can actually see the park at dark. Ah, we missed it. But you have to come back to [Music] Wow. How would anyone even know that Arthur’s back here? [Music] Bags go in lockers, but the camera can stay on the trusty. Oh, perfect. The eye of Arthur. [Music] Oh, [Music] [Music] hey. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] I like that. [Music] [Music] Yet another incredible attraction here at Europa, Arthur and the Invisles. All the effects were firing, no lag, only 15, 20 minute wait. Perfect day so far. [Music] So, we are now heading deeper into Austria for the two attractions in the new area. Is it new or is it ah fire number two? Oh, that was that was that was a uh we are expecting a very toasty day here at Europa. So, we are getting on Alvin Express right now, but after that, we may have to get on the log flume for better or for worse. [Applause] [Music] Woohoo! Nice breeze. Yeah. Wow. Woo! Oh, w to the go. Woo! Oh, woo. No. That was nice. Yeah. I like that a lot. [Music] [Applause] Oh, it’s a bad bad sign when it’s already wet. That was the first wrap, right? The worst is over. [Music] [Laughter] Yeah. Yeah. Here we go. Goes up. Stays up forever. Hey, you know that’s not how it should be. All right. Putting my feet up. Prepare yourself. Prepare for the ice age. Hold on to your butts. Got my bag. I got my feet up. Oh no. Oh no. Oh, I got hit. I got hit. I got hit. I got hit. Man down. How we doing? Yo, you did good. But look at the interactions. It’s so cool. So cool. There’s guy on the guy above on the zipline. Hello. Oh, waterfall. No. No. No. No. That was mean. Wave to the wave to the goats. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Oh. Oh no. Oh, they’re going to get us. They’re going to get us. No. No. How cool. Okay. My thoughts my thoughts have been Oh no. Oh no. That was actually kind of misty. Nice. Yes, I see your face. Monsters. That was a fun little clue. Well, it was wet. Going to dry off in Voltron. Yeah. Yeah. Is that where we’re heading? Is Voltron next? All right. Well, that will certainly dry us off. Yes. Voltron is the shiniest, newest coaster here. It is going to be a bit intense. It’s got four launches. It’s got a lot of hang time. One of the most immersive roller coasters in the world based on everything that we’ve seen so far. Look at this layout. Very compact. Oh, here they come. There they go. Here they come again. Wow. Dude. Dude. It’s kind of refreshing actually. feeling. Yeah. [Music] All right. Woo! Oh, nice and tight. Whoa. Head back. Head back. Hold on. Wow. Oh my god. Wa. Wa. Wow. Wow. Wo. Wo. Wo. Wo. Wow. Oh yeah. Well, that was a fun ride. Or is there more like this? Oh, you better do this at night. I think it’s going to be a great night ride. Yep. Oh my god. Wa woo [Music] wow. Oh, that was so cool. So, for today only and yesterday, but we weren’t here yesterday, there’s a Greek festival going on here. Live entertainment, fresh food, lots of other cool stuff just to celebrate Greece and Greek culture. characters. So, at this point, we’ve knocked out four attractions, including two coaster credits. And the day is only really just getting started, but the park is starting to get busier and the temperature is definitely rising. Yannik suggests we duck into one of the aironditioned restaurants for a break while he tries to grab us a reserved ride using the park’s virtual line system. And it just so happens that there’s one restaurant in particular we’ve been looking forward to visiting. We are headed into Bamboo Bay. So Bamboo Bay is a quick service restaurant where you basically build your own stir fry. And you went with what? I got beef, rice, peanut sauce, vegetables, cilantro, and onion. And it’s onion. Significant amount of food. Pan for scale. Yeah. For a theme park, excellent. And I just ate a pe a bite and it was delicious. I myself went with chicken and curry sauce with cilantro and rice. I also got myself this little We’re going to call it dessert. It’s not actually, but we’re going to call it that. It’s something sweet. It’s something sweet. Yeah. Yeah. And this is our lunchtime view. We get to watch Pirates in Batavia from the other side. Remember when we were on it earlier? It’s only about €14 for one of the oversized bowls from Bamboo Bay. And after about 25 minutes of watching the Batavian ships float by, we’ve successfully claimed a virtual time slot for Volitarium and just about filled our stomachs to bursting. Just because our stomachs are full doesn’t mean we’re done eating chocolate paradise. Lindors everywhere mand. [Music] Oh, you get a little bonus chocolate. Oh, this is really good though. Hot. It’s cold hot chocolate milkshake. It’s very creamy and it came in a nice little souvenir cup. And you can you can keep the souvenir cup or if you come back and return it, you get €2 back and plus you get a little bonus chocolate. We do. Which we should eat because it’s going to melt. Yep. And we have 10 minutes to do everything. Our next attraction here is going to be Volitarium. This is a flying theater much like Saurin at Disney World. One difference though, can’t take cameras on this one, which is fine. I don’t think a POV would really translate. So, we’ll see you when we get off. [Music] So, what what is our next attraction here? You said Monster Castle, but that’s the English translation. So, it’s Ghost Castle. Ghost Castle Castile de Medi. It’s right over there. Um, it’s basically, it’s a very dark story. Um, it’s basically about Lorenzo Deichi who wants to have eternal life, but needs 12 souls to to um, right to be able to um, reach that, but it goes horribly wrong. Got it. So, we’re meant to be the 12 souls, but then basically, yes. But then things go ary anyway. Yeah. So, Ghost Castle, aka Gisters Schllo, has a very unassuming entrance. Little gothic, but not terrifying. [Music] And then you walk up on this guy. And he spits at you for some unspeakable reason. All right. Okay. Familiar. [Music] Some similarities, a lot of differences. Hello. [Music] Oh. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Okay. [Music] Interesting. [Music] Oh man. Oh man. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] I know it’s a very American thing to compare all other theme parks to Disney World. We really try not to do that because every theme park is unique, even things that are inspired by Disney properties wind up taking on their own identity over time. It’s impossible not to compare that ride to the Haunted Mansion, right? There’s a lot of similarities. Certain things were definitely inspired by the Disney attraction. But I will say this, Ghost Castle is what happens when a would-be imagineer rides the Haunted Mansion and then decides it’s not dark enough. It needs to be much scarier. I personally loved it. Genuinely terrifying. Definitely not one I would take a small child on. And I don’t think it’s meant for the small child audience. I think it’s definitely meant for the older crowd. Right next door to that, however, is a child-friendly attraction. It’s a very stark juosition going directly from that ride to the children’s ride next door. But I will say you can love both. Okay. A [Music] [Music] Come on. Come on. [Music] We’re back at not Epcot for the Can Can Coaster. You promised you’d only make that joke once in this video. In my defense, you knew I was lying when I said it. Off you go. Woo! Heat. In my opinion, chest mounted POVs don’t always turn out the best to begin with. I’m sure that one was absolute garbage because it’s so dark in there. But the ride itself, I will say, so fun. So fun. Okay, we are sitting in the cutest little park with the best view of the uh Bob sled. Bob sled ride. Oh, I just saw it. Goodbye. I’ve got myself an iced coffee or cold coffee on the rocks. I tried to say it. And you’ve got a apple cake. Apple cake. And we’re outside of Shea Marianne in France. Now, Matterhorn Blitz, which is the Wild Mouse Coaster. about to jump on has a very unique little elevator ride to its highest point. However, said elevator ride is quite dark and doesn’t translate super well to video. So, in the interest of time, we’re going to jump you right to the top. [Music] I’m excited. Yeah. [Music] [Music] All right. [Music] Watch out for landing brakes. Brace yourself. Oh, that one’s a little hard. Outside of Matterhorn Blitz, we have a small piece of the Matter Horn. A gift from Switzerland in 1999. In the shape of the Matter Horn. This place is wild. It’s wild. We have approximately 30 seconds before this work of art becomes a puddle. So, I’m not going to give it the attention it deserves on camera. This is the yogurt bowl. All right. Tell me your thing. I don’t remember the name. It’s a bio ice cream sandwich. Exactly. Solero it’s called. Yes. So basically have some um not sure what’s in it. Mango. You have mango. You have some caramel sauce and some exotic fruit ice cream. Yes. I would say. And it’s an ice cream sandwich with a bio bun instead of like So it’s warm on the outside, cold on the inside. Yeah. It’s delightful. So this is an iced lavender latte with lavender leor and there’s also honey in it. So it compliments each other very well and it won’t absolutely melt immediately after which is the mistake I made. Very good. I would expect nothing less. From the terrace where we’re sitting, we also have a great view of Voltron as it deploys multiple trains every minute. Ultimately, I think we’re going to give that one another ride today. But first, B-roll. constant. It’s freaking constant kinetic energy. [Music] Just the raw number of trains on this thing. Seven trains. Seven trains at one time. All right, friends. We’re at it again. Hoping for the front row this time. Got a shorter weight. I thought I was paying attention to details the first time we went through. I was wrong. I missed quite a bit. It’s borderline impossible to do and see everything in this park. You’d have to live here and have an annual pass like Yanni. No, we got front rows. [Music] Oh. Oh my god. Oh my god. [Music] Right. I can’t believe we got front row. What? What a one in a million fluke in our favor. One in one in four fluke. And the picture turned out so good, we had to get it. I’m shooting the back of your head. [Music] doing very badly as is tradition. Oh, hello. Yeah, you can spin but a Why so crabby? Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Oh man, I’m so dizzy. Look at the size of this guy. [Music] Oh no, there’s more. It’s the hydra. [Music] Oh no. M house time. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. The jeans. Okay. The ceiling is the floor. Oh no. [Music] Yeah. What was that? What was the What’s going on? It came back. Yeah. Oh, wow. That’s a ball the There are so many beautiful vantage points in this park. So many. It’s wild. So, we are heading for a nice slow relaxing train ride and then we’re going to try to get one more thrill ride in. What that thrill ride is is somewhat up for debate. Yanuk has been awesome for us today booking in the virtual line system using the Europa Park app. That’s basically what the Disney Fastpass system used to be before it was kind of ruined by Genie Plus. You’re basically just booking yourself a place in line and you have to wait the standard amount of time, but you can do other stuff while you’re waiting rather than being in line. So, we have that for the Poseidon water coaster at 6:00. However, he has to leave at 6:30 and like right at 6:30. So, whether or not we make it back here in time for that slot is TBD. We’ll see how long it takes to make it around the park on this train and then we’ll make a call as to what we’re doing next. [Music] The train is leaving the [Music] I like how it has the little Greek flag though. Yeah. For the festival. I’m glad we made it for the one two days and we just happened to be here for one. Yeah. [Music] All right, fam. It has been decided. The last ride of the day is Wodon. We’re just not going to have time to loop back to Poseidon. That’s okay. There’s always tomorrow. Both because we are in a time crunch and because we have a party of three, we’re not going to bother trying to get first row. We’re just going to go where we’re assigned. At some point this trip, we’ll circle around and get front row rides on a lot of these that we haven’t done today. Still have to do blue fire, uh, Euromir, couple of the coaster credits. Don’t you worry, we’re going to get to them tomorrow. This does look like a good Woody, though. I’m not sorry. It’s our last of the day. Woo. Uh GCI makes great track to the left. Farmland to the right. It’s friends. And before us, the drop of doom. [Music] Here we go. Woohoo. Wow. Woo. Wow. Oh, it’s close. That was That was soaring over the ramp. It’s real close. I see. We’re taking the road less traveled back to the front entrance. [Music] It’s a trap. Oh, just missed me. That is going to do it for day one here at Europa Park. And what a day it has been. Oh my gosh, there was a lot that we didn’t get to. Don’t get me wrong, but there was a heck of a lot that we did. We did 15 attractions, I think we counted total, plus breaks for hydration, a couple of snack stops, couple of Easter eggs along the way that Yanuk was showing us. Voltron photo shoot. Yeah. Lots of offride and b-roll. It’s ah we did so much so much. And I don’t think we would have been able to do half as much without Y. Thank you. So, thank you so much for joining us. It was an absolute pleasure. It was this was very last minute planned for our trip and I and I’m so glad we made it work. I’m just thrilled. I know we didn’t get to some things. Don’t worry, there’s another vlog coming. But trust me when I say we have had a full day, especially in spite of the fact that it was a weekend and that it was very, very hot. I think we did just about all we could possibly do today. Absolutely crushed it. And we are feeling very fulfilled. Until next time, guys. I’ve been Tim. I’m Katie. Yik. And every day is a new adventure. And we will see you again very, very soon. The series continues. Stay cool. Bye bye. Alerson. Hey. Good. Did we get it? Yeah. Okay, we’re done. [Music]
