A Day Trip to Èze Village – French Riviera’s Hidden Gem with 5 tips to prepare for your trip!
In this video, I take you along on a day trip
to the stunning Èze Village— a fairytale hilltop village tucked between Neece and Monaco.
I visited in July, during my stay in Nice, and this was hands down one of the most
breathtaking highlights of my French Riviera trip. 🚍 How to Get There:
There are multiple ways to reach Èze Village—you can rent a car, take an Uber or
taxi. However, I found public transportation to be the most convenient and cost-effective option. I
tried both rental car and public transport during my trip, and honestly, the public transport
option was more relaxing and hassle-free. Since I was staying close to
Nice Airport, I took Tramway Line 2 toward the city center (for example,
getting off at Jean Médecin). From there, I transferred to Bus #82 (Nice – Èze
Village), which climbs up toward the village. The buses run fairly frequently and
offer scenic views along the way. There’s also a direct bus option: You can catch
Bus #112 or 112 Express from Nice (sometimes from the port or Place Masséna), which goes straight to
Èze Village. It’s simple, affordable, and scenic! 🏰 Exploring Èze Village:
Once in Èze Village, you’re free to roam its labyrinth of narrow,
cobbled lanes—perfect for wandering, photography, and soaking in the medieval atmosphere. There’s
no entrance fee to enter the village itself. You can stroll, browse charming shops, or simply
admire the stunning views from various corners. I spent time just walking around the village,
enjoying the character of the stone paths and doing a bit of window shopping. The village feels
like a timeless treasure perched above the sea. 🌿 Jardin Exotique d’Èze – The Exotic Garden: If you choose to visit the Exotic Garden (Jardin
Exotique d’Èze) at the very top of the village, you’ll need to purchase a modest entry
ticket—but it’s absolutely worth it! I was amazed by the sweeping views
over the Mediterranean coast, and the garden itself is beautifully
landscaped with cacti, succulents, and exotic plants, all arranged over
stone terraces carved into the cliffside. At the top, you’ll find incredible
photo spots, with views framed by greenery and ancient stonework—truly
mesmerizing, especially around sunset. 🍽️ Dining in Èze Village:
As late afternoon turned into evening, the village took on a magical glow. Èze
offers several exceptional restaurants and charming cafés, many tucked along the winding
paths with terrace seating and sea views. Whether you’re craving Provençal flavors, fresh Mediterranean seafood, or an elegant
fine dining experience with a sunset backdrop, there’s something for everyone. Dining here
was the perfect way to end a beautiful day. ✨ Final Thoughts:
Èze Village is pure magic—from its dramatic cliffside views and
peaceful stone paths to its elegant gardens and cozy restaurants. It’s the perfect escape
from the city and an ideal day trip from Nice. If you’re traveling the French Riviera,
don’t miss Èze Village. Watch the video to experience the charm, the journey, and the
unforgettable views that left me speechless. ✅ 5 Key Things to Know
Before Visiting Èze Village: 1. Èze Village is Not Wheelchair-Friendly
Èze is a medieval hilltop village built on a rocky slope, and most of it is not
accessible to wheelchairs or those with limited mobility. The steep, cobbled lanes
are filled with stairs and uneven surfaces. While the road up to the village
is reachable by car or bus, the interior is only accessible on foot—there
are no ramps or elevators in the historic core. 2. Getting There is Easy by Public Transport
You don’t need a car—public transportation is convenient, affordable, and widely available.
Just make sure to check the schedules in advance, especially on Sundays and public
holidays, when service may be limited. 3. Entrance to the Village is
Free – But the Garden Has a Fee Walking through the village
is completely free. However, visiting the Jardin Exotique d’Èze
at the top requires a small entrance fee—and it’s well worth it for the
panoramic views and beautiful plants. 4. Dining in the Village is a Must
Èze has several quaint cafés and upscale restaurants offering outdoor seating
with unbeatable views. Whether you want a quick snack or a fine meal, the village
delivers a memorable dining experience. 5. Visit in the Morning or Late Afternoon
Èze can get crowded in peak summer hours, especially in July and August.
To avoid the heat and the crowds, visit early in the morning or arrive late
in the afternoon and stay for dinner. 🎥 Thank you for watching my video!
