WE ARE BACK!

In the last episode of Family Van
Expedition, a special episode that showed 24 hours at the
fire station with David and which, by the way, they made us withdraw, it ended with a
kilometer-long race to try to make our flight on time. The flight that
will bring us back to South America. [Music]
I can’t run any faster; I’m carrying 30 kg.
But first, let’s start at the beginning and put some context on how
we got here. And we’re on our way to the airport.
I think the last thing we told you was that our van arrived in
Belgium and we went to get it. Upon our return, we celebrated
COA’s birthday first, then Kaya’s, and finally mine. Incredible how quickly
time has passed. We left when Calla was one and Coa three, and they just
turned five and seven. The kids were also excited
to be able to attend the last day of … Well, look where we are now, and
it’s raining. We’re in Sabadel. With all the tiredness, exhaustion, and no
sleep, we haven’t shown you anything. And the kids arrived mid-morning
, and now they’re going to school for a little while this afternoon, and they’ll start tomorrow.
Although many of you don’t know it and sometimes criticize us for it, the kids
are in school. We even had time to go
camping for a weekend in our beloved van. Well, we’re off and running.
We’re in our little house, but on the other side of the pond. It’s been
three years, right? It’s been three years since we last drove around here since
we sent it to the United States. And on our first outing, look what
we’ve got. Wait and see if you can see it. You can’t. Well, it’s the black-faced woman. For
those of you who aren’t from Catalonia, she’s the patron saint of Catalonia, right? War.
And Nuria sent her to us to protect us on our travels and thus
rid us of this bad luck that ‘s plagued us these past few months. So
, nothing, we’re off camping with the black-faced woman.
Well, that’s how we started the morning playing musical chairs. Boy, are they
having a good time. [Music]
You know we told you we have a surprise? Well, now it’s almost time for the
surprise . I used to say the tancats, eh
tancat , no joke, eh no joke.
Do you remember those inseparable friends from Coa Kaya that we met
in Patagonia? Well, by one of life’s coincidences, they came
to Europe for a few days and are on their way to France and we ran into each other right here in San Pera
Pescador. Chin chin. Friends from around the world, friends from around the
world in Catalonia. That’s how we met. Uh,
we parked next to each other in Chile, in Chatén, I think it was. Chaitén.
Where was it? In Chaitén. In Chaitén, the salténalt, the saltén,
the Citroy. And one clear day in Citroy.
It’s true. I mean, we met and saw the Citroy, which
no one ever sees. It’s just not. Well, we were lucky
and it was time to say goodbye again . It was short but intense. This time
it’s not a goodbye but see you soon. Next time in January, when
… Yes. When from hot to cold,
from hot to cold. Well , and so we finished the
camping weekend and then the countdown began for the
preparations for the new trip . Well, we’re on the
least busy day before we leave and I’m starting to prepare all the kids’ clothes
, which, well, actually we always
take very little. What, what are you going to take? No, a lot of little things, eh?
And as we already know that unexpected events always happen at the worst times,
just two days before we left, David ‘s mother’s house was burglarized
. And it seems that burglaries in Homes are booming this time of
year. Now, the day of departure finally arrives
. Those of you who have been following us for a while will already
know that fate always likes to test us on our travels.
So, the first flight took off. One hour and 15 minutes late,
some passengers missed their flight and had to find and unload their
luggage. The problem was that we
only had an hour and a half connection. Well, it’s 5:00 in Lisbon and
our flight was leaving at 5:30. Now the dilemma is whether they’ll
wait for us or not, but whatever it is, it’s going to be a lot of running
and stress. Let’s see. I suppose by now
you understand where the rush in the airport was coming from. I can’t run any faster. I’m carrying 30 kilos
with me , and miraculously, not only did we
make it to the second flight, but so did our luggage. Good night, or good afternoon, everyone.
Uh, well, one more Monday, we begin a slightly different chapter. Do you know
where we are? We’re on a plane. And we’re alone because David and Coa are
several seats further forward. Hey, I imagine you’re a little
lost right now. We’ve been disconnected for several reasons.
First, because we’ve been super busy doing one thing.
Think that after being away for almost four years, well, when you come back you always
have a million things to do, and well, you see, two months have passed
and we’re back on a plane.
[Music] We’re good, especially
David , in favor of not making videos just for the sake of it. If
there’s nothing interesting to tell, it’s better not to tell it, right? Because it’s
true that many content creators who have the facility, well,
they create content about their daily life at home or just for the sake of it. It’s harder for us
because we’re used to going on adventures, telling you about our adventures
, and sharing our trips. Hey, anyway, well, yes,
even if we’re not traveling, you ‘d like us to show you our
daily life, well, we could do that too,
right? And now I’m losing it, I’m losing it. I don’t
know, it’s just that I’m sore I can’t even move. Right now
my neck is stiff. We’ve run
about 1,000m or 2,000m flat with 30kg on our backs running
all over the airport. [Music]
Well, we arrive and the suitcases. One,
two, three, four. We have them all.
I can’t believe they’ve arrived. I can’t believe it.
This is on alert and before takeoff I already saw that
the girls were with us. It’s super good. It’s really calming.
Well, that’s it. Home sweet home. We have everything.
We have it. Well, tomorrow we’ll give you the tour.
Everything has arrived and it’s 5:15 in the morning
, so let’s see if we can get some sleep
and tomorrow will be another day. We just arrived in Brazil, day one.
And today we have a lot, a lot, a lot of work to do, apart from organizing the bags
we’re carrying and managing everything around the house, which
we’ve been here for a year and a half now. Our arrivals to Brazil are usually not
stressful, but we are racing against the clock to get the house ready before
the first guests arrive and we start Kit’s courses and trips along
the Brazilian coast. But this time, having arrived before the
peak season, our priority is the children and doing activities with them.
And if you stay to watch today’s episode , we’ll show you why we did it.
from Brazil our second home. Welcome to Taíba. [Music]
calling me like the rainbow
the rainbow. [Music] [Music]
me [Music] [Music]
I can’t control [Music] my eyes are wen.
[Music] It’s calling me
a rainbow.
The rainbowing me like the rainbow
the rainbow. [Music] Okay. Welcome to the Family
Van Expedition video blog. [Music] Good morning. Well, we managed
to sleep four or eight hours straight and nothing, we’re all up and
about to go back home. [Music]
and my goodness, how the palm trees have grown
. Coa planted them, I’ll show you a photo of Coa as a baby
and the newly planted palm tree. Mother. Well, and this first night
the four of us slept together in the super bed,
but this is going to be Coa Caya’s room . Go on. Hello.
Well, then we’re going to do some first shopping.
Hello, hello.
And they really wanted to go boogie boarding. [Music]
Well, the first mission of the day is to buy food. This is the
biggest supermarket around. It’s about 20 minutes from home, and
the truth is, it’s superb compared to everything we found in the little town,
which is very basic. Well, the second mission of the day was
to go to our mechanic to pay.
[Music] Well, this is our
trusted mechanic here in Brazil.
The truth is, they are super honest and super respectful people . Good morning. Day two, we arrived,
and they told us they offer free surf lessons for kids. So here
we are. Day one. Let’s go surfing. [Music]
Crada. Aigua igual.
Eh, ta.
[Music] Brava, bravo. Well, Koa and Ka did
superb surfing the waves. They each caught several waves, and
now we’re going to the lagoon to try Wing Fil for the first time.
Well, let’s try it. We’re already at the lagoon. I’m in here because otherwise,
with the wind, you can’t hear anything. We’re going to give the first lessons
and see how it goes. The point is that they have fun and aren’t afraid.
Wingfil is a relatively new water sport that combines a
board with a hydrofoil underneath and an inflatable wing that you hold with your hands.
With the force of the wind, the wing propels you and the board rises above
the water. You don’t need to be alone, just wind and a lot of desire to have fun. [Music]
She did superbly. Did you like it? First day. More tomorrow. More tomorrow. Well
, come on. Okay. And this is a gift for a friend of hers
who’s going to make her a pendant, right? Uh,
[Music] first day. [Music] [Music]
Good morning. It’s 5:50 in the morning. We’ve been
awake for a while now. Here we get up like little birds
when the sun comes up and go to sleep when the sun goes down. And the kids are already
super busy with their homework. We start with a little
calligraphy. The boteng
un [Music]
will start quietly and then coa and so we take advantage to
show you the lists of where we are at home.
[Music] Go on, see it turns. Me gyra, me gyra, me gyra,
me gyra, me gyra. Okay, escape there. Come on, they were.
[Music] No, no, that’s enough.
Okay, and now the one who’s driving is going to pick up. Well , come on, see it goes
[Music] at 80 met la ves endavant
[Music] fins al ru de
[Music] a una mica una mica aquí Tope,
tope. [Music] Mol.
This morning we were accompanied by our friends Miriam and Fernando.
They also live here part of the year and arrived last night. They stayed
the first night and now we’ve accompanied them home so they can
prepare their house. And they’ve given us a little palm tree
that Calla is going to plant, because Coa planted all those in there when
he was a baby. And now it’s Calla’s turn. We’re going to plant
here outside. It will be a little complicated for it to survive,
but we’re going to try. Well, I’m halfway done, but
David, who you know is a good cook, what are you going to do, David?
I have nothing. What are we going to do? An ice cream.
What? Watermelon.
But a really cool ice cream, right? V. Whose turn is it?
My turn. And now David,
look at him, the king of coconuts. Well, that’s how we get coconuts, which
you know is a super hydrating
drink [Music] and there isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t drink coconut water
, of course, natural. Let’s see, ice cream.
How will it turn out? Come on, lift it little by little.
Oh, it has kiwi. Wait, wait. Kiwi
and andía and the one that falls. Wait. [Music]
Wow. [Music]
Well, today we start driving lessons.
Today it starts quietly and tomorrow… [Music] Well, time for
wingfil lessons with the kids. Today is Sunday, there are a lot of people here at the lake, a lot of
locals, so we moved away a bit. We came here as soon as it
comes out, with the wind you can’t hear anything. Well, and coa he did
spectacular, he crossed the entire lagoon without falling and we’re going to look for them on the
other side. Come on. Chacoa. [Music]
Well, we’re going to go for a walk here next to the house, to the dunes, which are
super pretty, and we’ll show you because we like them so much. Well, we’ve arrived at our little
secret paradise, which for now is only known by a few people, and
may it continue to be that way for many years to come. Here. Ah, it’s your turn to shut up. Come on, come on.
Here. [Music] Well, this is our
secret, secret paradise
and the children’s playground. How fun, huh?
So, nothing, many afternoons, many afternoons. We come here to watch the
sunset, which is the best place, without a doubt.
And I would say it’s one of the few, very few places that hasn’t changed at all
in the last 20 years . Come on, Dad is encouraged to jump in
to see if he doesn’t break anything. Wait. Ah, like the tooth. Look, he ends up looking for water. Lying
looking for the same. What?
Oh, how handsome you are. I thought you
didn’t hear him. Start, you didn’t believe me. I mean, what?
The sand that I found by miracle has fallen here . [Music] Well, you can’t tell me it wasn’t
magical. Toothless Coa. The cows passing by at sunset.
The place is incredible, even if she falls, the poor thing is there. Dad. Oh,
who were you? You.
And after spending the afternoon in this wonderful place, we go back home. [Music] Mom
[Music] who is ultra excited. Well, that’s it for
today’s chapter. We’ve shown you a little bit
about what Brazil means to us, our house,
our second home , and Koa, who is ultra mega.
Excited. I lost my tooth.
What day is it today? We’ll remember it. Day 20.
Day 20. All right. It’s the 20th or the 19th,
I don’t know. 20.
July 20th, I think it is. And nothing, uh, next week. Let’s see, David,
what’s happening next week? Nothing, next week we’re
off again, although last week we didn’t rest, they made us
remove the video. Well, it’s just that we didn’t explain it well.
Well, we’ll explain it. If you want, we’ll explain it live next week.
Next week we’re going to do a live stream, so if you have questions or
anything you want to tell us, either put them in the comments or, if not,
ask us live. If you put them in the comments, even better, so
we know how to ask questions directly, and if not, then nothing, but let’s see if you
‘re up for it. Chile, Argentina, Peru, come on, let it be known that we’re in South America,
Brazil too. Brazil,
eh, you’ve kind of left us out , eh, since we returned to Europe,
eh, you’ve given us a bit of a slip. Well, we’ve gone back
to our usual, well, not 3,000 or so, but hey, the live doesn’t
start until we’re connected. 25
in Spain, which is good, 5 hours less here in Seará, in Brazil,
so calculate, you know, the usual time. Isabel’s definitely not missing,
right? Cristian’s not missing either. Fernando sees it. Well, I think he’s on
vacation. Fernando. Yeah.
We’ll see. Super good. Well , come on. Okay.
Who’s saying goodbye? Shut up. You say goodbye.
Goodbye. Goodbye. See you
next week. Ah. [Music] [Music]
