Our TOP 4 BEAUTIFUL medieval villages in the South of France | French Riviera | Travel Vlog

Hello everyone 🙂 We have woken up early today We booked a day tour with Viator which we’ve been looking forward to The tour picked us up at our hotel which we found very convenient Today, we’ll be visiting some of the most beautiful towns in the South of France Grasse is renowned to be the perfume capital of the world so, there’s no better to way to delve into its history of perfumery than a visit at the museum But this isn’t just a museum visit We are even taken into their laboratory to watch the perfume master and his team work Did you know a person who creates perfumes is sometimes referred to as a “nose”? We smelt and learnt a lot in this museum tour for both men and women fragrances A short drive away is Grasse’s Old Town Our guide told us that these umbrellas were put up for the Rose Festival We were so beguiled by the beautiful streets and the umbrellas that our hour here flew by we had to get back to our mini bus and travel to our next stop already the phone was running out battery 😑 The next town has the nickname “Eagle’s Nest” and from this viewing spot, we can see why This town is listed as one of the most beautiful villages of France and boy… they were not joking! We were going to have our minds blown away! Can you believe Gourdon village dates back to at least the 9th century? Even their shops are gorgeous and aesthetically pleasing to all the senses This little buddy is one of the shop owner’s pet Our new buddy loves ice creams 😀 We LOVED Gourdon and it was a shame to leave 🙁 but we have two more medieval towns to visit On the way, we see a waterfall by the side of the road, we think it’s the Cascade de Saut du Loup Here’s a view of our next stop Our guide explained, the name Tourrettes derives from the word “tour” which means towers in French – it has nothing to do with the medical condition The paparazzi crew 😂 Every street and every view in this village was photogenic Prickly pears always reminds us of the “bare necessities of life” in the Jungle Book lol This view point offers a 180 degree panoramic view The next medieval town is our last place to visit of this tour 🙁 This next town is said to be one of the oldest in southern France and a haven of the famous This town has hosted many famous individuals including Pablo Picasso The long day was getting to some of us 😂 Let’s liven us up with some uplifting music and pretty sights There are many art shops, museums and galleries here but the whole town itself feels like one big open air museum We have had a fantastic time today While all the towns we visited were STUNNING, we do have our most favourite Which was your favourite village? We are now on our way back to Nice When we arrived back at our hotel, we noticed this Thai restaurant right next door We didn’t have a lot of time to eat today, so we were starving 🙂 We hope you have enjoyed this video In our next video, we will be visiting Monaco and Monte Carlo with a short stop at Menton We hope to see you all there 🙂

Honestly, there are PLENTY of gorgeous, picturesque villages on the French Riviera – selecting which one to visit was actually stressful lol! Somehow, we narrowed down our top 10 places to visit to 4 but getting to each of these places independently wasn’t the easiest.

We didn’t want to hire our own car (coz we’d spend the day getting lost)! So, when we found out that Viator had a full day tour for these 4 towns, we were ecstatic!!! And we did not regret booking it one bit. We’ll leave a link of the website below if you wish to check it out – please note, we are not being sponsored by Viator for this at all.

Our tips:
⭐Limited time – as there are 4 towns to visit in this tour, time will be the biggest enemy here. For most of the towns, we were given two hours (give or take) to explore and if you’re like us, we love to wander at a leisurely pace and take time to take photos etc… which meant, it didn’t really leave enough time to find a café or a restaurant. We literally just snacked for most of the day. Just something to bear in mind if you do wish to book a tour.

⭐Pick-up location – again, if you do wish to book the same tour on Viator (or on another tour site) please take a note of the pick-up locations, we did notice that the pick-up locations are mainly in Nice.
