Weimar ist eine Stadt im zentral gelegenen deutschen Bundesland Thüringen. Sie ist für die Epoche der Weimarer Klassik bekannt, einer humanistisch-kulturellen Bewegung. Mit dem Goethe- und Schillerdenkmal vor dem Deutschen Nationaltheater wird an die beiden Dichter erinnert, die in der Stadt lebten. In Goethes Wohnhaus, einem Gebäude im Barockstil, befindet sich heute das Goethe-Nationalmuseum. Das Schillermuseum befindet sich neben Schillers Wohnhaus. Das Bauhaus-Museum zeigt Werke des Architekten Walter Gropius.
