welcome to Beyond Blue today we’re coming to you from the gorgeous Amalfi Coast Italy and I’m joined by my co-host Santiago in this episode we’ll explore some breathtaking villas sip our way through a Limonello tour and discover some wonderful wines up in the hills plus we’re going to bring you some top tips so stay tuned so getting to Amalfi Coast is super simple you fly into Naples airport and it has multiple flights every single day now when you arrive it’s super easy you can either get a private car or you can pop down to the port and get a ferry so here we are down at Positano Beach with all these multicolored houses in the background soaking up the beach life and you know so often people ask me when is the best time to visit the Amalfi Coast well I would suggest the shoulder season so April May and September to October the crowds are much thinner and the weather is just as beautiful as you know Posatano has a lot of steps and now this next villa has a very unique entryway there is a lift at the bottom of the street and it takes you right up the villas behind me and also there’s a porter service that can take your luggage directly to the villa now let’s go check it out here we are abalato Santa Crochet an Italian palace that will make you feel royal five bedrooms four and a half bathrooms let’s check it out hi Suzanne hello my gosh I love this villa it has four levels upstairs we have the bedrooms downstairs we have a sauna a gym and even an indoor pool and here we have an amazing outdoor sund deck this villa also used to be a small monastery at the beginning of the 1800 during the height of the Barack era it was transformed reason why we have this wonderful golden details and this captivating painted ceilings both master suite step onto this gorgeous wraparound balcony which give you stunning views of the Amalfi [Music] Coast there are so many invilla experiences including private yoga classes which we’re going to try right now [Music] okay so we’ve gone from Positano down to Amalfi it took us about 30 40 minutes and now we’re actually in the Amalfi Historical Garden which is an amazing citrus farm nestled in the hills did you know there’s no lemon juice in the Lemonchello no I did not wow really we only uh use four ingredients the lemon peels clear alcoor 96% in volume the strongest alcohol ever water and a little sugar that sounds really interesting and I’m looking forward to tasting it shall we head over yes let’s go perfect here are some products from our farm freshly picked from our lemon trees lemon cello lemonade big lemon and candy orange peels with chocolate enjoy thank you so much thank you let’s try this lemon cello cheers cheers so we know that Amalfi is famous for their lemons but did you know that they also have some incredible wines we’ve traveled up the mountains behind a Malfi to savor some delicious wines and try their local produce [Music] the uniqueness and the beauty of the vines of the Amalfigos is the ancient vines some of them they can reach 400 450 years old because most of the vines here through the philoxadime which was a disease that affected European wines at the end of the 19th centuries there’s a bunch of volcanic sediments all of these pebbles they are pommy stones which were purely delivered during the volcanic eruption wow so that’s what protected the roots of the wines our tasting beginning with the white wine which is the single vine white called Pereirava which Gdano dedicated to his wife and is a blend of three indigenous local grapes falangina and jinestra cheers cheers salut cheers salute sal [Music] hey guys okay so we are at Villa Pamino today which is in Positano and it’s nestled in the cliffsides with these amazing sea views we’re going to go check it out they have a dedicated sund deck up here with plenty of lounges and gorgeous sea views which my friend Santiago is taking in right now could you actually imagine taking a wine with your friends here and enjoying this view beautiful so it was built in the 17th and it’s actually an old monastery you see the bell tower yeah yeah it looks amazing out there and you know what’s really unique about this building and what I really love is that the villa actually has elements of the old monastery so we see the original stones they used back there so the Amalfi Coast is famous for their lemons so you can come down here anytime and pick some fresh lemons so just off the garden you’ve got this gorgeous swimming pool and jacuzzi which is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a full day of exploring this villa comes with its own private wine celler you can savor some it amazing Italian wines pinogrigio sav blanc even a verb so come down here try all the beautiful wines so you might remember from our Marba episode we made pizzas well this kitchen comes with authentic pizza oven and so Blue can organize a private chef for you they can come in and you can organize the pizzas the kids can make them and it’ll be a really memorable experience [Music] we are so lucky to have Chef Renzo this evening to make us a beautiful Italian dinner can you tell me what are you making for us
