Day 41 in Wurzburg, May 15, 2025

Wurzburg, Germany – Würzburg is, after Nuremberg and Fürth, the third-largest city in Franconia located in the north of Bavaria. Würzburg is the administrative seat of the Regierungsbezirk Lower Franconia. It spans the banks of the Main River.

Würzburg is situated approximately 110 km west-northwest of Nuremberg and 120 km east-southeast of Frankfurt am Main. The population as of 2019 is approximately 130,000 residents.

Würzburg is famous for its partly rebuilt and reconstructed old town and its Würzburger Residenz, a palace that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I spent the day exploring the Residenz’s garden, which was as beautiful as it was expansive. I was here in the early 70s while stationed in Germany.

The video uses the sound from the organ in the Wurzburg Dom and includes the parking garage, which was one of my most difficult ones on this trip, since I was driving a larger car this time.
