My preferred route is Paris-Geneva-Milan. That way you go along Lake Leman and through the middle of the Alps. Considered one of the most scenic train rides. Make sure you get the right train as there are several routes to choose from.
Stay in Milan for a few days. Great city, not touristy, and you can hop on a fast train to Venice or Florence for a day trip. About 2 hrs and 50 euros for each one.

I and along with a lot of people from my train and other trains that came after me while we were waiting in line at the police station in Venice/Italy ..we all had a bad experience with taking Italian trains from France. All the conductors from my train are working together with the police that they robbed us by gas our sleeping compartments. They have the master key that they can open from the outside of the comparments after they gas us to sleep. The next morning when we arrived to the station and we can see all the conductors all of them were carying a huge bags over their shoulders quickly walking away as soon as the train stopped. while waiting in line to report to the police ….the next train came along and people were crying and they told us the same thing…they were gas the all the sleeping comparments ….i felt bad for them family next to us since all their passport were taken……i would careful and not staying in the sleeping compartments…..besides that i love the food, beautiful country ….

I love how Europe can travel from country to country, whereas in America, we can only travel state to state.
The train transits via St Andrée Gaz. When mistake in Chambéry( works in the Savoy capital station ), this train transits via Grenoble !
