Seriously, what IS this place? Sunken City of Ancient Epidaurus, Greece 🇬🇷

This is the “Lost City of Argolida,” Ancient Epidaurus in the Peloponnese Region of Greece.

And this the “Roman Villa of the Dolia,” an underwater archaeological site.

Pottery shards from the Roman era wash up on pebbly Yialasi Beach. Then the ancient ruins begin about 147 feet (45 m) from the shore in less than 10 feet (3 m) of water.

The Sunken City of Ancient Epidaurus is a wonderful place to take a boat tour, swim, and snorkel in sunny weather.

You can easily see the submerged Roman villa in the crystal-clear water.

But make sure to wear water shoes! Because abundant sea urchins await in the rocky seabed.
