Three Days in Munich Germany #VLOG

[Music] I’m what you would call a lastminute guy. Usually arriving at the airport with barely enough time to check in and clear immigration. But on this trip, I managed to arrive at the airport with some time to spare. walking through the duty-free shop and I realized that there was a robotic bartender that’ll make cocktails. I excitedly scurryed up the escalator only to find that the bartender has taken a day off, probably from overwork, having to deal with drunk visitors, and listening to complaints about flight delays. I ended up getting a regular beer at the airport lounge before heading to the boarding gate for my 12 and 1/2 hour direct flight from Singapore to Munich, Germany. [Music] When the government director yet didn’t know [Music] Okay, so I’ve picked up my coffee. Heading out for some fresh air before we make our way down to downtown. [Music] Hi everyone, Hong here. Welcome back to the channel and welcome to Munich, Bavaria, Germany or as the locals would say Guten Morgan unkn [Music] butcher the German language too much but here we are in Munich. This is a part of my 11day trip with BMW Moto Singapore and TWWT Moto where we ride from Romania into Germany. We’re starting I’m starting off here in Germany, flying off to Romania tomorrow. I will be spending a total of about 4 days and three nights here in Munich, Germany, which is why I thought I’ll do a separate video to take you guys with me to check out some of the sightseeing locations here. And it’s my first time to Munich. I’ve been to Germany, I guess, about 20 times, but I’ve never been to Munich. So, here we are. 4 days of good sightseeing, I hope, because the weather right now is perfect. It’s about 24° C. The weather forecast did say that it might rain in the afternoon, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed. Okay, gonna hop onto the Deutschban, which is the train system, and um make my way to the city center, check in a hotel, take a quick shower cuz I just got off the plane, and then check out the sightseeing spots. Let’s go. Seems to be a pretty straightforward route. Just uh taking the Espan, I believe it’s called the train to the city center. [Music] vital event. Uh we’re here at the airport. There’s a couple of stations and we get off at Rosenheimer plots. Let’s go. [Music] [Music] Okay. So, I’ve got my ticket and uh I believe we’re supposed to validate the ticket at one of these validating stamp your ticket machines. And there we go. There’s a little stamp on the top. I hope I got this right. And I guess we just wait for the train to arrive. This is uh definitely a pretty complicated map. A whole bunch of different routes. And I just want to make sure I’m on the right one. I think it’s S8. So, and not S1. Okay. So, there we go. Um I will be taking the S8. That’s at 10:24. So, we’ve got about 14 minutes till the train arrives. Train is here. S8. I believe this is the one I’m supposed to get onto. And uh let’s uh hop on board. [Music] Mother [Music] heat. [Music] All right. Thank you, Google Maps. According to Google Maps, we’re here at Rosenheimer Plats Esban Station. And uh we got to walk up here to where the hotel is, Holiday Inn. Not sure which exit to take, but at least we’re on the right path. Let’s go. So, there are two exits. This is a Visenberger Straza and Steinsteinera. No idea which one to go. So, let’s just do a quick iteny meeny miny mo. This side seems to be a little bit more civilized than the other side. So, let’s just go this way. [Music] [Music] So, I found my way. It’s a 400 m walk. So, I guess we’ll get to the hotel in about 5 minutes. gives me a chance to see what Munich is kind of like. Not exactly sure if this is a commercial area or if it’s definitely not a residential area. It’s not too far away from the old town center, which is obviously where I’m going to visit. [Music] Here we are. [Music] It was like uh less than 10 minutes to get here. Question is, it’s only 11:18. You guys probably couldn’t see that. I’m not sure if I could check into the hotel room yet. [Music] All right, so it seems like we managed to get a room at 11:23. The check-in time was supposed to be 3:00, but they were friendly enough to accommodate me. So, perfect. I can take a shower now. Desperately need it. [Music] Well, I’m not expecting a view. Let’s uh see what we’ve got. Woo! It’s not too bad at all. Once I was done with my extremely long shower, I was feeling fresh and headed straight out in search of lunch. Grateful to have Google as my companion, I found this Queen Cafe that serves all day breakfast. And since the weather was really nice, I opted to sit outside. ordered an ice cold beer because there’s nothing like enjoying one on a warm summer afternoon along with a traditional Bavarian breakfast known as vice versel unen basically white sausages with soft pretzels and mustard. [Music] The white sausages eaten without the outer skin are made mostly of minced ve and pork with parsley, lemon, and spices along with a soft and ideally warm salty pretzel is a must try when visiting Bavaria. And of course, everything tastes better when washed down with some local laga. [Music] Once I was done with my lunch, I started on my journey to visit some iconic and historic landmarks in the city center. It was a really pleasant day for a walk, and in my personal opinion, walking is one of the best ways for a tourist to see, feel, and absorb a new place. Unfortunately, some of the places I was hoping to visit were closed for restoration works, which incentivizes me to come back in the near future. [Music] Probably one of the most iconic landmarks in the old town of Munich, Marian Plus, the historic central square. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. N. [Applause] [Music] [Music] As I only had a few hours to spare, I was not able to spend too much time in each of the landmarks or visit the museums, which was a pity as the old town is full of beautifully preserved buildings, sculptures, and art. The one regret I have was that I didn’t get to join a walking tour. There are many local tour agencies that offer half-day walking tours in old cities and towns like Munich. Thankfully, I did some research before coming and was still able to enjoy and appreciate some of these tourist attractions. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Wow. [Music] [Music] After spending a few hours walking around the old town, I returned back to Marian Plats as I read that the Glocken spill or clock tower, which normally chimes only at 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon will also play at 5:00 in the afternoon between the months of March and October. And I didn’t want to miss this. [Music] [Music] While the sun was still shining, a light drizzle started falling and I sought refuge in one of the many alfresco bars and restaurants that dot the downtown area of Munich. I was feeling pretty exhausted after my dinner. And having just arrived from a long haul flight while still adjusting to the time difference, I opted for a quicker way back and hopped onto an Uber scooter to head back to the hotel for an early night’s rest. As it was midsummer, the sun didn’t set till past 1000 p.m., which gave me a chance to enjoy a slow sunset complete with more rain and a beautiful rainbow. [Music] The following morning, after a hearty breakfast at the hotel cafe, I made my way back to the airport for my flight into Cibio, Romania. [Music] Guten Morgan Gen Tag. It feels a little like deja vu cuz I’ve just arrived in Munich 24 hours ago and here I am back at Munich International Airport ready for my flight onto Cebu, Romania. It was a very nice trip for the past 24 hours. I uh even though I had some there is a time difference between Singapore and Germany 6 hours. So, I was a little tired, especially after a long flight. But I was also very fortunate to have pretty good weather. We had a little bit of a drizzle in between, but more or less really good weather all day in uh Munich. And I had the chance to walk through the old town and check out some of those iconic historic sites all around the old part of Munich. Morning. And but yeah, here I am back at the airport again. And um 2 hours from now I will be flying off to Cebu, Romania. It’s about an hour 45 minute flight. So a pretty short and quick flight. And then we start our Eastern Europe quest 2 days from now. So I will have another I think about 48 to 56 hours in Cibu to well obviously check out the old town in that part of the world. So, I’ve got to go downstairs now where I kept my baggage. I have a big bag with all my riding gear as well as my helmet case and uh check in. It’s a full flight, so I hope we get enough space to put the helmet cuz as you know, the helmet is probably one of the most important riding gear to take with you. And okay, let’s go. I think there is uh some kind of Audi gathering here at the airport. It’s pretty cool. You see the two police officers I said hi to earlier checking out the cars. Okay. So, this is where we kept this is where I kept my uh baggages from yesterday’s flight. Hello [Music] All right. So, I’ve got about two hours before the flight to Cebu and I decided to stop coffee. I had this coffee yesterday and it’s uh it’s pretty good. It’s cappuccino. Just a regular airport cafe, but really good coffee. It was a really easy check-in for me with Lufans. It’s um with I have two check-in baggages. I bought extra because of all the extra weight. So, it’s 35 kg for both packed together. Um, but usually for Singapore Airlines, for my experience and Cafe Pacific, it doesn’t matter how you distribute the weight as long as your combined check-in weight is within limit. So, just now it was the automated system where you put in the baggage by yourself. You scan the barcodes and all that stuff. And um I put in the lighter bag first and then when it was time to put in the bigger, heavier bag, it said it was overweight. It was over the limit and I had to pay extra. So I walked over to the Lansza uh counter and I asked them, I said, “Look, you know, uh I paid extra for the extra weight already. I just put in the wrong bag. I don’t know. I didn’t know I was supposed to distribute the weight that way.” And they were kind enough to say it’s okay. you know, they it did some magic on the computer and just like that, it was good to go. Super friendly. Not always the case, but I’m glad it was. So, yeah. All right. Finish up my coffee and then go in and get ready to flight and get ready for my flight to Cebu. [Music] [Music] [Music] and I wish you a pleasant and relaxing afternoon here. Thank you for flying Lufenza City9 today. Thank you. Take care and goodbye. All right. So, here we are in Cibu, Romania. It was a 1 hour 45minute flight from Munich. Smooth flight all the way here. And uh linked up with a few of the other riders who are also participating in this year’s Eastern Europe Quest with BMW Moto and TWW TWWT Moto. And we’re all going to different hotels. I’ll be staying at the Continental Hotel uh for the next 3 days and two nights and then 3 days later move on to the next hotel and that’s when we start our journey with BMW Motoat riding from Romania all the way back to Germany crossing six different countries. I’ll also be filming a separate video visiting some of the old historic sites here in Cibu. So, if you guys want to check that out, do check out the link at the end of this video or in the description if it is published before this video, which it should be. If not, just consider subscribing to my channel and stay tuned for that video. Okay, so now I got to go figure out how I’m going to get to the hotel. It’s not too far away. It’s about a 20 25 minute journey. And uh check in and then find some beer. [Music] I spent the next couple of days exploring Cibu and have to say it is such a beautiful city. In my personal opinion, underrated in so many ways. Following that, my 11-day riding adventure, which saw us travel from Romania to Serbia, Bosnia, and Hzgoina, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, and finally back into Germany. It was an adventure of epic proportions as we rode on some of the most beautiful mountain passes in Europe, saw many spectacular sites, and experience the many colorful cultures of the region. I can’t wait to share that video with all of you. So, please consider subscribing to the channel and hitting the notification bell. Link to all my other videos in the description. 13 days later, I was back in Munich and after traveling some 2500 km on a motorcycle, was in desperate need for some peace and quiet. After checking into the hotel, I walked to a nearby kebab shop I saw two weeks back, ordered a chicken kebab with all the works, and headed down to the park that runs along the Isa River for a calm and relaxing lunch. [Applause] So, after 13 days, I’m now back in Munich, Germany. I spent 11 days with BMW Motorat Singapore touring Eastern Europe going from Romania to Gomesh and um it was a pretty awesome and epic adventure. But 11 days of riding, as awesome as the bikes are, it does get a little bit tiring. And so I decided to take this entire day to unwind a little, to chill because I’ve not had the chance to do that for quite some time. And what better way than to walk through the lush green forests of Germany. Well, I’m not exactly in a forest. Uh this is a national park, a public park rather, and I’m walking towards the English Garden, which is a well-known garden here in Munich. That’s been a very nice, peaceful, and enjoyable walk. I’ll take you with me. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] While I didn’t get to do much in the traditional sense of doing anything, It was a much needed day for me to soak in some peace and tranquility being with myself with my own thoughts and of course to connect with nature. The following morning, I held a cab and headed to Motororld, one of the coolest hotels I’ve ever stayed at in Germany. Just a few moments ago, it was bright, hot, and sunny. And as I was setting up my camera, dark clouds started to roll in. And accompanying the dark clouds is this very strong wind. I hope you guys can hear me clearly. I took my microphone out, my DJI Mic Mini with its wind muff, and I hope it’s clear enough for you guys to hear me. It’s my final day here in Munich, Germany, before I fly back to Singapore tomorrow. And for this last night, I’m treating myself to something a little special. My good buddy Anto and Chris from BMW Motorat Singapore recommended this hotel to me because they know I am a speed freak or at least someone really enthusiastic and passionate about speed and cars. Welcome to Motor World Munich. This is a bit of an interesting concept. I believe there’s a museum here with cars on display, cars workshops where cars are brought in to service for servicing. Uh, a bunch of shops. And I know I’m already and I already know I’m going to spend a fair bit of money at those souvenir shops. There’s one right there by the entrance. And uh, and it’s a hotel with a bunch of restaurants. So, I just checked in. I’ve got my key card, but I’ve not been up to my room yet. As you can see, I’m still carrying my bag. I thought I’ll take you guys with me as we go check out the room. I believe I got the last room that has the windows facing inwards. So, most of the time in the hotel, you probably want to look outwards to whatever the view is on the outside of the hotel, but we’re kind of in the middle of an industrial area. So, there not a lot there. There isn’t a whole much whole bunch to look at from the outside. But on the inside, that’s when things get a bit different. Anyways, let’s head upstairs to the room, check out what it’s like, and hopefully we get a good view of the cars inside the building. Let’s go. I love it when there are themes. And the theme of this elevator, obviously, cars. [Music] That is so cool. That was super cool. Okay, room number 204 right here. The theme continues. You can see some Formula 1 car designs on the carpets. Insert the card. That was stiff. Here we are. Pretty nice room. Put the bags down and then let’s see what the view is. Oh yeah. How is this for? Cool. You can see motorcycles parked on that side. Right in front of my room is Bugatti. I think I see McLaren on that side. Not a whole lot of privacy, which is fine. I guess that’s the price you pay for having a spectacular view like this, right? Waking up to Bugatti. Awesome. Okay, I’m going to go unpack and then head downstairs for lunch. [Music] Let me see. Hey, [Music] everybody. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] If you’re wondering who eats a cheeseburger with a fork and knife, well, this guy. [Music] I spend the entire day drooling over the cars and bikes. And as expected from when I just arrived, spent a small fortune at the shop getting t-shirts I don’t need and more model cars for my collection. It was an early night for me as I had to get to the airport the following morning for my flight back to Singapore. All right, so it is my last day here in Munich, Germany, and the end of my 15day stay here in Europe. It’s been a blast, but at the end of the day, it still needs to come to an end. And uh one last look around the room to make sure I don’t leave anything behind because during my 11-day trip with BMW Moto, um I did leave my toothbrush and my toothpaste in one of the hotel rooms. So, one last check and off we go to the airport. Having spent close to 16 days away from home, it was time for the final leg of my journey. As I’ve mentioned a couple times earlier on, I’ve got a separate video covering my 3-day stay in Cibio, Romania, where I got to visit some museums and check out the extremely wellpreserved medieval old town. Obviously, the main highlight for the trip was my 11-day riding adventure with BMW Moto Singapore. my first proper motorcycle tour where we rode some 2500 kilometers on B-rolls and mountain passes as well as having spent a day at the 2025 BMW Moto Days event in Gomesh, Germany. This was an extraordinary experience and I have a feeling it’s the first of many more to come. Do consider subscribing to the channel if you haven’t already and join me on those adventures. Details in the description. And there we go. I spent about 3 days in total in Munich, Germany, and I’m heading back to Singapore now. It has been a pretty awesome trip. Too short in my personal opinion because there’s so much to see, so much to explore here in Munich and of course in Germany as a whole. But that would be another adventure for another time. I hope you guys enjoyed the video. Thank you so much for spending your time with me and I will see you guys in the next video. Bye-bye. [Music]

Join me as I visit Munich Germany for the first time! Exploring parts of the old town to see historic landmarks such as Marienplatz, Friedensengel and Theatinerkirche; witnessing the chimes of the Neues Rathaus Glockenspiel; soaking in the tranquility of the Englischer Garten and Hofgarten; as well as drooling over the exotics and classics showcased in Motorworld!

  1. You could have taken the other escalator towards the Gasteig, it connects you to Holiday Inn from the train station via the underpass and the basement of the shopping mall.
