5 BIG Travel Rule Changes for 2025 – European Visas for Americans
hey there fellow Travelers Mar here with Walter world and today we’re going to talk about some of the changes you should expect in 2025 when it comes to travel and these are things you should definitely know because it can really impact you depending when you’re going to travel and one thing I want to talk about is if you’re in the US standardized carry-on rules are coming yes that means in the US the new standard rules is 56 CM by 40 cm by 23 cm which for Americans means absolutely nothing so in inches it’s 22 in by 14 in by by 9 in that is a new standard thing that all the US carriers are going to be using so yes we now finally have one rule that works for all the airlines so we don’t have to guess if I’m on Spirit versus delta am I going to be okay the problem with that is is we as Travelers probably didn’t win very much because a lot of your carry-ons you’re using now probably exceed those limitations so just be aware of that however it is going to be standardized so you know what you’re going to have also the weight is going to be between 15 lb to 22 PB so 7 kilos to 10 kilos so you have that so something you might want to think about because also what they’re going to be doing is they’re going to be checking more the weight and the sizes on those carry-ons so they can get a little bit more boost in their luggage check Money profit so be aware of that now other rules you might want to know about if you’re going to be coming here to Europe guess what EES is coming the European entry exit system basically what it means for you as a traveler when you come into the European Union fingerprinted and pictured also unfortunately that might mean less stamps in your passport but you’ll be electronically checked in and checked out when you come to Europe so you’re getting fine not really impact you much but just less stamps in your passport the one that’s really going to affect you and this is one that theoretically is coming in 2025 but it’s been supposed to be coming in 2024 23 22 e the European travel information and authorization system basically it’s a viser waiver program so basically you’re going to come to Europe you’re non Union citizen you’re going to have to pay a small fee like $7 fill out some forms you need to do that the key thing is you have to do that before 72 hours before you come so you can’t do it at the airport you got to do it before because it can take up to 72 hours to get your approval now it could happen in 10 minutes it could happen in 10 seconds or it could take 3 days so be aware of that now the UK is also started the ETA system the electronic travel authorization works just like the e system or the esta program in the US you fill out the forms you have this kind of thing and it allows your entry and it’s important you have to fill this out if you’re going to be staying in the UK or even if you’re just transiting through the UK so be aware of that now the wind is getting rain is getting B so I’m going to go in my hotel room to finish [Music] this woo a little wet there all that liquid coming down actually help you remember another change you’re going to have to be looking for and that is the changes in the 311 rules for liquids when you fly scanners have gotten a lot better if you’re flying through the UK you notice they’re not even checking really for the liquids very much at all what you’re going to see is relaxation where airports are going to be like saying that you can bring liquids that’s no problem or within you know relatively normal size amounts and that 311 rule may disappear but the thing is some airports are doing away with it but not all airports so it depends where you’re flying out of and when you come back home the airport you’re departing from from because you may leave from an airport that’s like we don’t care about the 311 rules anymore but when you come back they might so do still have some of your you know Ziploc bags kind of stuff the clear bags so you can put your stuff there for your liquids okay so I want to give you the heads up so those are five Chang to look for in 2025 when it comes to travel rules there are other things coming like more tourist taxes day trip taxes and Venice kind of stuff but I wanted to get the big five that’s going to affect the most Travelers so you have the EES system coming to the European Union where they’re taking your pictures and doing your fingerprints and stuff like that you have Eis system which basically is a Visa waiver you have to fill out 72 hours before you go to the European Union you have that one you have the ETA system which is you know registering to going to the UK or transiting through the UK you have that one as well you have the changes to the liquid requirements and the standardization of carry-ons when you’re in the US so I hope this helps you know a few of those changes what are the things you expect to change in travel in 2025 let us know in the comments below we wish you great travels wherever you are whether you’re outside and beautiful Paris or inside your room because it started pouring down rain bye
If you are traveling in 2025 there are some big changes coming to the airport and airline experience from standardized luggage to visa waiver systems and more. ETIAS, ETA, EES and more. So be prepared for your next trip abroad in 2025.

Update: The ETA for the UK will not be needed if you are just transfering through UK airports. You will only need the ETA for the UK if you are staying in the UK.
I’ve learned so much from this, I can’t wait to try it out!

The question regarding carry-ons are, are they going to check and are they going to limit people to one. I see so many people walking on planes with two and even three carry-ons that one or two are definitely over the limit. The airlines say nothing.
3:12 i dont like her
Loved the content! Keep it up!
Matrix eSIM works seamlessly across a bunch of countries.
Thanks for the video Mark. My brother is traveling from the US to Italy late summer – have any of these rules or will any of these rules be implemented by then?
Just to follow on from the new liquids rule at the moment, the 100ml rule is still in place at all UK airports. Although some UK airports (mainly the smaller ones) have installed the new scanners theres loads that missed the deadline set by the government including big airports like Heathrow so to make it easier and standardised all UK airports still enforce the 100ml rule.
I am traveling June 16 to June 23 2025 do I need Etias?
OLD INFO ETIAS WILL BEGIN IN THE FALL OF 2026!
For the ETA (and for ESTA and when it arrives, ESS and ETIAS), only go to the official government websites/apps to do this. There are a lot of websites out there who will try to scam you into paying a lot more for these forms (if you even get one).
The ETIAS website says it’ll start in the last quarter of 2025…..so those of us traveling now in the summer to Europe to the Schengen area are ok.
ETIAS has been pushed back to Q4 of 2026.
ETIAS not starting until 2026.
have they postponed to late 2026 for US citizens?
Etias for usa citizens is not necessary yet ,be more precise ,you speculate 😊

Can someone provide links or point me to where I need to apply for these European requirements please?
Why can't you just go to the European embassy in the US and get a European visa?
Your energy makes everything so much more fun to learn.
Guess I wont be going to Europe anymore.
Your tips are always on point!
I fly first class only so it doesn't matter.I got spoiled flying first class. And now that's all the only way I will travel.I mean, if I have to fly business class I will, but yeah, no first class all the way.I have the money to do it.Why not😂
Looks like the ETIAS is on hold until the last quarter of 2026 now.
thank you! efficiently presented! luv your vids
I didn’t know I needed this until now!
I learned something new today, thanks to you!
Sounds too confusing.
Can’t believe I just discovered your channel. I’m hooked!
I’m definitely going to try this out!
Can’t believe I didn’t know this before, thanks for sharing!
This is exactly what I needed today.
I never thought I could do this, but now I feel confident!
Thank you for this video. However, do I need vaccination records when traveling to the UK?
Aw man. Looking dark for us travelers.
This was a life-saver, seriously.
I never thought I could do this, but now I feel confident!
So my carry I have using for years is no good anymore? I specifically bought it for that
Always great information
Excellent!
Just flew internationally through Amsterdam. Passport control has an E-reader that scans the passports. Mine wouldn’t scan so I was sent back to the end of another long line.
In line we all noticed that most of us were Americans and we’d all had the same scan failure. So there must have been some glitch in their scanner system.
So be sure to factor in extra time for unexpected things like this.
