Eze, France 🇫🇷 Beautiful French Village tour on the French Riviera | HOT summer walk in 4K

Welcome to Èze, a breathtaking medieval village perched high above the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, nestled between Nice and Monaco on the French Riviera. Èze is just a short trip from Nice, making it a perfect half-day getaway on the French Riviera. Take the TER train from Nice to Èze-sur-Mer station (about 15 minutes). From there, you can hike up the Nietzsche Path (Le Chemin de Nietzsche) — a steep 1.5-hour uphill trail with spectacular views. If you arrive at Èze-sur-Mer train station (the coastal part of Èze), you can also take a local bus from right in front of the train station that goes up to Èze Village, at the top of the hill. The ride takes about 15 minutes. The bus runs a few times a day, mostly in the morning and early afternoon. The fare is usually €1.70 (standard local rate in the region), and you can buy the ticket directly on the bus or via the Lignes d’Azur app. Once the bus drops you off at the Èze Village stop, you’re just a short walk from the entrance to the medieval village and the path leading to the Jardin Exotique at the very top With roots dating back to the 8th century, Èze is a living time capsule. The village was once a fortified stronghold, shaped by centuries of Roman, Moorish, and French influence. Its narrow, cobblestone streets wind through ancient stone buildings, artisan shops, and fragrant flower-filled alleys. At the very top lies the stunning Jardin Exotique d’Èze, offering panoramic views of the Côte d’Azur – from Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat all the way to the Italian border. It’s no wonder Nietzsche walked these paths for inspiration. As you wander through Èze, you’ll notice the village isn’t just a historical treasure — it’s also a heaven for art and creativity. Tucked into stone alcoves and quiet courtyards, you’ll find galleries and ateliers showcasing the work of local and regional artists. From vivid paintings of the Riviera’s coastline to intricate sculptures crafted from bronze, clay, or iron, art is woven into the soul of this village. One of the most enchanting parts of Èze is simply walking through its narrow, winding cobblestone alleys. These ancient pathways were laid centuries ago and remain almost unchanged — polished smooth by time, footsteps, and history. The village is built entirely from golden limestone and old stone, with houses that seem to grow right out of the rock. Every turn feels like a step into a fairytale — no cars, no noise, just the quiet charm of a village suspended between the sky and the sea. As you explore the narrow alleyways, you’ll find boutique souvenir shops tucked into ancient stone houses — offering handmade soaps, perfumes, ceramics, Provençal linens, and local art. Many shops sell products made right here in Èze or nearby in Grasse, the world’s perfume capital. High above the Mediterranean, nestled within the ancient walls of the village, lies one of the French Riviera’s most legendary hotels — La Chèvre d’Or. This five-star luxury hotel is more than just a place to stay — it’s an experience. With rooms and suites built into the medieval stone houses of Èze, guests are surrounded by history, art, and breathtaking panoramic views.
